Xbox |OT| Power Your Dreams

Still need to finish off JFO....if I can pry myself away from Forza Horizon 4. A task made more difficult now that I’ve got the Fortune Island and LEGO expansions. Barely scratched the surface of Gears 5 - just played it enough to gape in slack jawed awe at the visuals. I’d also like to dig into the MCC. And now we have our most recent dump of high quality stuff onto Game Pass...just on top of the other stuff on there that I’ve wanted to check out. I’m telling you...for me....TOO MANY GAMES. FAR TOO MANY. Can’t remember ever having a more pleasant problem than this one though. 😊

I haven’t even got Valhalla yet, as with the gaming options on my plate now, I can easily wait until it’s deemed that the game is running up to it’s potential on Series X.

Just can’t remember being this excited about console experience in quit’s a while....and that’s with Xbox being a bit slow out of the gate with exclusives. But once they start rolling out....just think of it. 😳

*goes back to playing FH4 so he can buy the Edinburgh Castle*

I will be honest here, while i am happy with my Xbox and controller, i wouldn't mind if Microsoft pulled what Sony did in the PS1 days and introduced a new controller like they did with the Dualshock.

Mostly just so that they can copy the Dualsense, add the gyros and the haptic feedback, yes, Sony fans would go wild mocking Microsoft for copying the Dualsense mid-gen but everyone is so gobsmacked by the Dualsense and it's game changing haptic feedback and how gyros are awesome for FPS games that i really wouldn't mind a Dualshock like scenario happening.

Oh well, in other news, finally tried Killer Instinct multiplayer despite not having finished the training lessons and my T.J Combo fought a Rash online, i had already played multiplayer before with Halo MCC for some matches and had zero problems, but the KI match had some lag at one point, but i won, it was a very newbie match though, but hey, i pulled some Combo Breakers so it's fine.

I have been playing Valhalla (that Prodigy side quest made me giggle) for two weeks now and it is pretty much my favourite open world game since Witcher 3, but I had to try out something else for a change, so I loaded up Falconeer. It's a bit of a shame that it got buried by all the bigger launch releases and it is certainly not a game for everyone - controls are slightly frustrating at first and there are bizarre difficulty spikes that come and go, but it has a great indie game vibe, the gameplay is actually not bad when you get used to controls and that no-texture look of the world is unique. 6/10 - 7/10 rating is actually very precise and I mean it in the best way imaginable.

What a lineup for December! Game Pass is just nuts.

Geez Game Pass, chillout! My backlog is completely out of control. There are a bunch of outstanding games I've been wanting to play and some others that I've never heard of but look like they could be really interesting too.

The ones I'm most interested in are:
Call Of The Sea - I've been wanting to play this since it was first revealed. I hope it's as good as it looks.
Greedfall - I've heard great things about this game since it first released on PC and I'm glad it's now on consoles AND GP
Haven - This game looks kind of odd but interesting and I want to play it to find out what it's all about
Dragon Quest XI - I don't like JRPGs, but because so many people raved about this game I got to at least try and also because when I was first gaming on NES and SNES I really loved the the Dragon Warrior series.
Doom Eternal - I know it's been on GP console for a while, but I still need to play it - Loved Doom 2016.

I would be super excited for Control except I just bought the Control Ultimate Edition or whatever it's called. Fortunately that's the first time it's happened to me and I'm going to keep it because I think the GP version is just the base game.

For sure. I'm in my early 30s, got no time for the BS. I come here for news.

Off topic: we're NY kin folk, Harlem native here

Thats wassup man, same here stopping by see whats good in the news..but just happen to see same, delusional, nerd neckbeards, same toxic group in just about every game/console thread . You can't talk about what you like or prefer (if it's not Sony)..GTFO!! , constant judging on the spot.

Anyway, good to see fellow New Yorker 🤜🔥🤛🫂

I was raised few blocks away from Flatbush Ave. (Ocean Pkwy) Now I call home NY-Miami.

Harlem always be Poppin man, faxs!!!! Luv the place, folks, food joints.. anything you need, basically.

best spot for coppin new Js back in the day.!!

Well, it sucks finding games you want to try to play but they not being available through BC, so because of Hotshot Racing i felt like trying some good old arcade racers that inspired it, basically Daytona USA and also try the famous Outrun 2, sadly, you can't buy them on a Xbox Series.

Also, for a fast paced twin stick shooter rec, Xeno Crisis on Game Pass is pretty damn good and awesome in all the right ways, even if a challenge, it's nice picking a game and it just going straight to the action of blasting tons of aliens.

Sad my XSS pre-order cancelled at the last moment due to a failure in payment ( that was weeks ago btw ). Now all this time i was rethinking about it to buy one but here is my question to you .. should I buy one now?
I mean all 3rd party games will be on PS5 beside exclusives .. should I wait a year for the games to come? you feel me?

I mean I would like to play The medium but I'm not really sure if I should buy the X just for that.

Pick what you think is the best one, but it's true that the PS5 will have more exclusives at the moment and the big "exclusives" for Xbox will seemingly take a while.

Just saying, Demon's Souls Remaster, much like Bloodborne, is planned to be PS exclusive, a freaking Spider-Man game became the start of a PS franchise and quite a few games aren't planned for Xbox, and Sony has shown to not be afraid to pay for timed exclusives at all, even with the upcoming Bethesda purchase, Deathloop, for one example, will stay a year only on PS5 when it comes to consoles thanks to Sony.

Microsoft is buying many studios and they hopefully will make their games not appear on PS5/Switch but we will see, meanwhile, games like Disgaea 6 don't even have their developers considering Xbox.

Not that Xbox doesn't have great games or anything great, but the Xbox One launch was such a disaster a lot of developers really paid more focus to the PS4 and it seems it will stay the same for the PS5 for now.

Also, the Dualsense controller looks great, and i know i am talking really well about the PS5, but honestly, i am enjoying my Xbox, but i know most of the games i am enjoying are also on PS and their exclusives make up for not having Killer Instinct or Forza as far as many people are concerned.

No joke, i actually thought DQ XI was gonna come out sooner and have tried to already play it a few times and been sad when i couldn't, i guess i am just excited for that game.

Also, can anyone tell me what is up with Sega and some talks about Wednesday?

Apparently it's enough to make a thread about it but i don't know what it's about.

Only time will tell, regarding smaller games, I think they will come for Xbox, Disgaea 4 is ironically on gamepass

For PC, yes, which i bought before it went on Game Pass, sadly, Nippon Ichi has absolutely zero interest on Xbox, i don't think they have released one single game of theirs for any Xbox console, at best i think at one point they announced a port of one of the RPG Makers for Xbox One but cancelled it, no Disgaea ever came to Xbox.

Which sucks, i wouldn't exactly complain if Disgaea 6 was also announced to Xbox.

He has worked on music for all Bethesda Fallout games(3,NV,4,76) and Elder Scrolls Blades, so possibly talking about Starfield.

Hope you're right after Halo, I think Bethesda games have the best music of any video games.

The Division 2 gets a next gen patch.

4k/60 on Series X

1440p/60 on Series S

Available February 2nd 2021

YES! Hopefully it gets more than just a simple 4k/60 patch

Speaking of next gen upgrades, SoD2 gets its own today.

Have it but haven't played it... will check out this article to see what upgrades it gets. My son digs games like this so maybe it will be worth digging into.

Among other things, 11 million unique players on Sea of Thieves in 2020 alone. Say what you like but the game is ridiculously successful.

Summary stolen from Resetera;

- 11m unique players played SoT in this year
- Steam saw 1 million new players within a month. Also from alot of new countries. Korea and China were big factors
- Playerbase is now 50/50 between PC and Xbox
- Arena will be supported. But wont get big updates anymore
- Been doing monthly updates since July 2019. Seasons will start in January and will last arround 3 months
-Every 3 months a big content update and during the season events, patches etc
- New Season progression system. Biggest change to progression since launch
- 100 levels and series of Pirate trials giving rewards. Shorter sessions possible even without finishing and still moves you forward. Progress moves forward outside of trading companies also.
- Premium pass called Plunder Pass with extra rewards you get during the 100 levels
- Each month a featured live event
- New merchant. Detective

Quick Resume alone justifies the Series X.

So...it looks like I need to add SOD2 to the growing mountain of games I need to check out. Oh...should probably see what Sea of Thieves is all about. People that love it REALLY love it.

These optimizations of older titles is really helping to fill the exclusive titles void for Xbox.

I heard it runs on 60 FPS, tried Dark Souls Remastered and it's running well too, but i heard DS3 is 30 FPS only and it's the only game like this.

There was a PS4 Pro patch to get it to 60 FPS but even with the Xbox One X, From Software didn't release any such patch, but i think the first two and Sekiro can be played at 60 FPS, hopefully when Elden Ring comes out, the developer remembers to patch DS3 for Xbox.

Has anyone tested Dark Souls 2 Remastered on Series X?

I'm wondering if it runs at 60 fps or 30.
There's no such thing as Dark Souls 2 remastered :messenger_winking_tongue:

Dark Souls 2 runs 30 FPS and it's not backwards compatible on the XB1 or XSX.

Dark Souls 2 - Scholar of the first sin runs 60 FPS, same as it did before. I don't think there is any specific SX improvements and it ran at a locked framerate already back on the XB1.

Dark Souls Remastered runs 60 FPS.

Edit: oh and Dark Souls 3 runs 900p 30FPS as far as I can remember, never had a 1X patch (but I may be wrong).

Just finished Sea of Thieves session with my friends. Don't play it alone - you are going to be bored and frustrated. With friends it is probably top5 gaming experience I've had recently. It's, for the lack of a better word, unique. And so freaking beautiful on XSX.
