Are there legitimate games on PC that look better than demons souls?

To follow up on my previous post some of the environments in A Plague Tale could be a good indication of what we would get if they made a full on next gen remaster of Bloodborne:

And that's the PC version of a last gen game.

But what is last Gwen on PC? They have had full ray tracing for a good number of years and higher end graphics cards higher than currant gen consoles. SSD need improvements on pc as being as quick as currant console pipelines

No, there isnt. You might get better image quality from higher res, but that's a different topic from a game being technically better looking overall.

Most games cited here look amazing, it's true, but there's no way they look better. Some might use RT, but it's RT on top of a last gen title.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
Loads.

The 'last gen' multiplatform games like Witcher 3/RDR2/Valhalla are on par with pc settings cranked up.

PC generations always follow console generations for multiplatform games.

A Plague Tale is designed around the limitations of the PS4/Xbox One base consoles, the rendering techniques are consistent across all platforms but with the PC version you can play at higher quality levels.

Games with ray tracing on PC have been sparse so far due to the fact that the games have primarily been designed around hardware that doesn't have RT capabilities. That will change quite rapidly over the next 2-3 years as developers begin to leave behind the last gen consoles.

Lowest common denominator. Games nowadays are coded to be able to run on the lowest model Playstation or Xbox, and are lucky to receive more than shinier visuals on PC.

Sorry but what's wrong with Valhalla in terms of lighting?:

It's very clear that some of you are talking without having seen and experienced things with your own eyes.

More than half of them haven't even played any of these games, you see em in here purely for the DS name alone to protect they're cub..same shit goes in the VS threads, repeated cycle, just a different day.

That's one game, and it's not available on console yet for that very reason.

You're talking like I'm not playing these games, all the screenshots I've posted in this thread are mine and you can find my flight sim screenshots in the PC screenshot thread.

Bottom line is that most people don't know what they can't see.

If they've only ever seen Demons Souls but not some of the other games mentioned in this thread running on PC then they will think Demon's is the best thing out there. Overall it's not, especially not in the performance mode, but people don't like to admit they are wrong.

I Agree and even on console a plagues tale looked amazing

No, there isnt any game on PC that looks like TLOU2 either.

The master race will throw numbers at you "BuT I cAn rUn iT aT 12k iN 200fPs"

But a game is much more than resolution and framerate, and if you look at the best console looking games so far, IMO are Demon Souls - Miles Morales - TLOU2 - no PC game has come even close to the graphic fidelity and art direction (realism wise) of these games.

There are some great looking games on PC but I have yet to see a game with the amount of geometry that we can see in Demon Souls and it really makes a difference. The same difference in geometry detail can be found in the UE5 demo (even more than DeS) - once you have seen it, it is hard to unsee. I find the games on my PC fairly barren now due to this. It is really a clear difference that is not resolution based.

I genuinely think that Metro Exodus looks like trash, even maxed out with/without DLSS and full RT at 4k on my 3080. Character models look extremely bad, animation is really bad, many textures are very low resolution, all foliage look like a joke.

Demon's Souls and Miles Morales on the PS5 looks leagues better to me, as well as TLOU2, God of War and GoT on the PS4 pro, easily.

The RT in Control looks very nice and really impressive, but that's about it. Other than that, the game looks OK but nothing impressive.

To answer OP's question - nope. I definitely don't think there's a better looking game on PC. Not even close.

I do realize though they people here seem to appreciate very different things when it comes to graphics and what "better looking" means even.

Animations are kinda whatever, good but not mindblowing.

But yeah the texture work on almost everything is spot on.

Not impressed by the human characters, again they look good but not mindblowing (talking about npcs here)

Totally agree - it is the environment geometry/textures that are really a step ahead. The faces of humans are plain bland.
Yeah, 90% of the game's beauty is in the environment textures.

Bricks and rocks being the superstars, wood for example doens't look better than top tier current gen wood, same for metal.

RDR2? I don't even like the game but it's a technical marvel.

Besides realism isn't artistic passion. Even if a game has the OMG best tech ever, it won't hold people's attention for long if it's not a marvel to take in and enjoy.
