Not sure if it's just my blind ass and the different ToD but the lower one seems a bit higher?

i thought the entire second act with the new characters was severely lacking. i loved all the setpieces and gameplay scenarios with abby but i had to will my way through Abbys story because god everything about her storyline just sucked.

the game ended on a really strong note so its still my goty.

i dont think Joel acted out of character at all. Ellie did but thats the entire point of the game. she was doing stuff even she didnt feel comfortable doing.

The second act killed it for me. I just didn't care for Abby at all.

Having issues loading bugsnax (PS5) freezes up.
Seems to happen when first loading the game maybe from rest mode..
Only happens with Bugsnax, and happened twice.

I end up unplugging the console..

Is there a hard reset?

This is why you should always show some humility. I dont care how big of a penis you have or how many tflops you are pushing, life has a way of humbling you.

Same goes for Sony. There is no reason to beat your chest over this. I suspect lopsided comparisons all gen on both consoles.

Agreed - Video and details presented are about as expected for this particular game.. it'll be interesting to see if/how they address the tearing issues (and if DF does a follow-up to outline how the tearing was addressed)..

This is one thing, but resolution dips are often hard to actually notice when gaming... but those god awful screen tears all over the place on XsX are the absolute killer here. The comparison between the two consoles in that open doorway is proper shocking.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that if you let the console remain unplugged for 5-10 minutes - it does a full hard reset.. that's how some have gotten out of a bricked console scenario..

I had my first freeze loading DeS from rest mode last night. What was weird is the whole console didn't freeze, just DeS at the title screen. I was able to hit the PS button to pull up the lower menu then I went to the switcher, selected DeS, hit the menu button on the controller and hit close game. It loaded up normally from there.

Playing bugsnax here, rest mode after hours and its playing fine here, maybe try a rebuild databse? its just like ps4

Wondering if there is a reset without having to unplug (man that little stand really sucks)

the problem is that they will need to bring the resolution down by at least another 25% to eliminate tearing. And since they are already at 1440p, cutting that down by a quarter is going to be noticeable.

And that will just bring them up to 60 fps, they need to be above 60 fps at all times to completely eliminate tearing which means roughly a 30% reduction in resolution from 1440p. that means they wouldve had to go to 1080p and MS wouldve thrown a fit if that had happened.

it was a lose lose situation for them. There is a massive bottleneck in the MS system right now. The GPU isnt performing as well as it should be.

Time of day differences... look at the bottom left... the shadows are way different... in fact there is a Cloud (or other big object) over the sun on the top picture.

AC Unity tanks in some scenes, and they are left to speculate "maybe the GPU is downclocked?" and it makes zero sense since the game is 60FPS half the time and the game unlocked / unpatched on PS4 never got near that.
I agree with you that Unity most likely running in boost mode. The dips in frame rate are most likely because it is a PS4 game and therefore only using half of the CUs

Article for these that doesn't like videos.

Ohhhhh he took the fence... just saying all the time Xbox needs more work and blaming PS5 for the lack of VRR lol

A very small video and article for all the time we waited.
Very little deep analises.

He also claims that it is harder to detect tearing on Playstation platforms (look from minute 11:10). I would really be interested in what he is trying to imply.

Yeah not sure why he didn't explain that.

Maybe he just means "because it barely has any tearing" but the way he says it makes it sound like it's a difference in something else.

The direction of the shadows is the same - but on the second picture you see less shadows; or a big shadow additionally.

Sometimes doing a Database Rebuild through the console's bios fixes the issue. You can access the bios the same way as on the ps4. First, make sure the console's turned off and the controller is connected to it through the usb c port on the front. Then click and hold the power button for about 5 seconds, you'll hear the beep like you normally should when you turn on the console, keep holding the power button on the console until you hear a second beep then let go of the button once that happens. You should at this stage have reached the bios, using the left thumbstick, highlight the Rebuild Database function and select it. It should start rebuilding the database and then it automatically restarts the console once it's done. Like i said, this normally fixes issues like that. You could give that a try and see if it works for you.

Nope, the difference in the GPU is huge xbox has 1000+ more Shading Units and 18 more CUs, 5 billions more transistors
Some might say the clock speed can compensate that, no it won't clock speed yield follows a logarithmic function it's very known among overclocking enthusiasts.
At the end of the day we'll see comparisons very soon, and I'm ready to bet my house that the difference will be significant
Ah looking through some bookmarked messages...

Lol hope you’ve got the paper work ready, you weren’t wrong about the “significant differences” bit though 😂

Why do games perform better on the PS5? What causes the screen tearing on the XSX? It just doesn't make any sense to me.
If I explain did you will believe me?

I mean what is happening in AC: Vanalla is easy... the framerate on Series is dropping constantly because the GPU & CPU (I don't know which of the two to be exactly) are not holding the 60fps framerate even with the mininum resolution set for it (1440p)... so tearing happens because the Adaptive VSYNC disables the VSYNC when below 60fps (that is its function because VSYNC only works when the framerate is constant over the refresh rate of the screen).

So the Xbox hardware are not running the game render in 1440p in a constant 60fps in some heavy scene creating tearing... if you drop the resolution scaler the framerate won't go below 60fps, VSYNC will works, and you will have no screen tearing.

So a easy fix is to drop the minimum resolution and let the GPU & CPU works with lower than 1440p resolution to maintain the 60fps.
