Wow, I was thinking of picking up a 5600x on bestbuy once the reviews came in. Lets just say that didn't work out.

Yea I was surprised Best Buy was left out in the cold on this one.
I actually saw it for a moment where I got a popup saying "we're releasing them in batches, please wait." Then the button went yellow and did the famous best buy we can't get it in your cart thing.

Realllyyyyy? Best Buy was not listed on AMD's website as having it. I refreshed on the site and it never showed up. Said screw it and drove to Micro Center.

They did it again. It showed up but I couldn't complete the transaction. I'd consider Microcenter if I lived closer but their web site says the one near me says they sold out anyway. (I was hoping Bestbuy would at least ship a few to the local store but I realize they won't bother if they can quickly sell all their stock online.)

Don't know about you guys but I think amd did a good job with stock this morning, for me I could have picked up any of the three skus this morning from both Amazon and newegg, although the 7 and 9s sold out quickly at least I could add to card and think wether I wanted it or not, have a good feeling for the gpu launch. Also props for having mad stock on the lower end consumer item.

I wish my experienced mirrored yours. Couldn't find any of them on Amazon except via direct secret links, but by then it was too late. On Newegg, at 6am on the dot and for the next five minutes, it wouldn't let me complete the purchase. It would accept payment, or appear to, then dump me back at the start of the purchase process. Repeat several times. After five minutes or thereabouts, it changed to out of stock.

Well maybe I should disclosed but I got my links from a discord server so maybe it's not really fair for the average person.

Sorry to hear man. I hope you find one soon.

Thanks, I still need to get a video card so I figure I can hold off on my build until then and if I happen to get a 5600x in the interrim that should be fine. (Well ok, I can start the build and hold off on the CPU until I get the GPU and at that point if I get a 5600x use that or go with the 3800xt I have currently.)

These CPUs are kicking some fucking ass. Very impressive by AMD.

If anyone wants some comprehensive productivity benchmarks, Puget Systems has a good roundup.

Oh wow, they're only about a 45 minute drive from me. Lol

I'm sold, been waiting so long to upgrade both my CPU and GPU and AMD drops these bomb ass CPUs and GPUs in the same month.

Waiting for the inevitable 5700X as well. Planning to build a new PC early next year when hopefully they have a release date for that one. My last AMD chip was from the Athlon XP series

Can someone please PM me a discord that notifies people when these are back in stock? Really want a 5900X. Thanks.

Well this sucks. I can't get the system to boot.

Stuck at ASUS screen saying Please press F2 or Del to enter UEFI Bios.

Got the Asus B550-F (Wifi) Rog Strix MOBO.

Wont detect any keyboard I have in the house.

proshop.no crashed as I was in the checkout stage of the 5950x, so I had to switch to komplett.no. They say December 2nd or something delivery, but they are notoriously unreliable when it comes to dates. If only.

No idea, no way to check which version is installed. Trying to use the USB Flashback feature now.

edit: The USB Flashback worked. Now able to boot.
Hey what mobo are you using. I got the Aorus Elite x570. I think it has a flash option, but I'm nervous about hitting the button

GamersNexus 5950X review is brutal with how one sided their benches are. 5ghz boost finally achieved also, as their sample averaged over 5Ghz single core.

Was planning on getting 3600MHz RAM but now seeing that 2000 FCLK is possible I begin to wonder.
If this is a golden sample than I'd probably aim for 3800, if this is even just a "ok"-die than damn... Wonder how much you could squeeze out of that thing on top by just pairing with 4000MHz RAM.

From what I've read and watched. It looks like 4000mhz Ram is the sweet spot. I manage to get some RipJaws 2x8gb sticks. Was roughly $126 dollars from Newegg

Cas Latency is 16-19-19-39 so not the best but not terrible.

Got a 5600x after a lot trying. At retail price too. Phew!
Now final decision on a mobo needed. Thinking of getting Gigabyte aorus elite x570. What do you guys think?

Just so I'm not misunderstanding something here.

I took a look at the benchmarks. It seems like if you game at 1440p and above at higher settings that the gaming performance of the higher-end CPUs is essentially going to be identical outside of some edge cases.

Am I reading that right?

Should I not even bother pursuing the 5900X and keeping the 5600X? Gaming rig. It looks like... there’s barely any difference in gaming benchmarks.

That's what I would do. Single threaded performance is good and I wouldn't expect much of a difference between them there. (So in a similar vein an intel 10600k is very much the same when it comes to gaming performance as a 10900k) Plus you'll get similar multithreaded performance to a 3700x, 3800x, and 3800xt. (I'm guessing it'll be a while before any game company targets more than a 3700x in multithreaded performance.)

The way things are looking, I'd take the 5600X. I wasn't around for the last go-round of cpu releases from AMD, but it sounds like it was pretty bad. I would expect this launch will be even worse.
