Too bad. It would expand the reach for the game. I'll buy the game, but don't particularly have the time in my life for endless frustration. Someone said you can grind to make it easier, so I'll do that over a protracted period of time. But difficulty levels makes games more accessible, and a launch game could use that. Uncharted was a phenomenal game on crushing difficulty, but if that was the only setting, then the game wouldn't have become a blockbuster.

I was biggest wimp of gaming and I finished it on the PS3. You can over level, stock up on healing items and summon people to help.

Maybe not, they've limited healing items compared to the original:

Personally I wouldn't have minded difficulty modes or accessibility options for those who are disabled. Just disable achievements if they're activated, that way gamers keep bragging rights.

I've said it once I'll say it a-fucking-gain, if there was an easy mode to the From software games, you wouldn't get the same experience everyone raves about. The core of these games is trail and error, testing your ability to learn and change. You cannot brute force a From Software game, adding an easy mode changes that. The games were built around being hard, if you remove that, it's not the same game.

It has nothing to do with "git gud" or elitism, removing the need to constant change your strategy would ruin what people like about the game. I still don't understand why we still have people wanting an easy mode in these games. You won't get the same experience, you won't be able to share strats and ideas, you won't be able to gain the same insight, so whats the point? Why ask for an easy mode rather than just not playing the game?

If they announced an easy mode, they’d lose hundreds of thousands of buyers.

People who want easy mode don't understand what these games are about. "But I just want to experience the game without the challenge!" The challenge (and the reward when you overcome that challenge) IS the game. You can't remove that and still have the same experience. If you can't accept that, go play something else.

I applaud this.

Cheese or not, atleast he found ways to beat the game without crying on forums about adding easy mode. If as he said - a biggest wimp of gaming - could do that, why can't others? I really think most people bitching about easy mode are just lazy bastards lmao

Maybe, I know for me I'm just looking for a fun game, and overwhelming difficulty does not sound fun.

It's why I stopped playing sekiro half way through, I realized I can do it, but I'm not having fun.

Yeah but why ruin the game as it is meant to be just so you can have "fun" with it?
Haven't we had enough genres getting overly easy and lame just because some didn't like the gamedesign because it was to "hard" for them?

The genius of Soulsborne design is that Miyazaki always puts in a way to cheese his bosses, so you CAN beat them once you've found a working cheese. After this many games, I don't believe it could possibly be coincidental that every boss has a known cheese tactic.

Is there a way to cheese the orphan of kos? That dick nearly drove me insane.

You literally would. Just play it on the normal difficulty setting instead of the easy one.

the worst part of a From release is the endless bitching about a mode that doesn't exist

i get it, you would love to "have fun" by forcing a game to fit your exact specifications.

i too wish Yoshi's Crafted World was ten times as difficult as it is. i would probably play it way more if so. but i'm not so self centered that i want to demand all Yoshi games to be hard just to please me. i'm not writing articles complaining about the lack of a hard mode in Yoshi's Crafted World. i'm not calling fans of the game elitists for not agreeing with me. because i understand that you gotta to just accept the games as they are. you might as well get mad there aren't more levels in a game. cool, go back in time, give the devs a couple million more dollars, and implement all these wonderful changes you have. oh wait, that's impossible.
It's why I stopped playing sekiro half way through, I realized I can do it, but I'm not having fun.
if you stopped playing the last From game because you weren't having fun, why are you even bothering with this one? you can pick up Yoshi's Crafted World.

Souls difficulty is fine as it is, but there's no need to belittle people just because they want to experience the series.

It'll just stop people from ever TRYING to get in the series.

People need to be encouraged, inspired, told how addicting it is to play Souls. Not be called names like pussies or snowflakes, that's kindergarten level discussion and has an opposite effect.

But he also said the game is not really hard as people remembers it to be. Also the frustration is not from dying but waiting to get back to the game and the fast loading will solve the issue.

Praise the Gavin.

I was wrong thinking that they would insert an easy mode for the naggers.

Translation: We can't be bothered or don't have the time to tweak each skill level, so we aren't going to do it at all. If you really want to push the agenda of "it's the way it was meant to play", you could set it as default, don't even offer it as an option when you start, and leave it buried in a menu for those who want it. Seriously, they are deciding to limit their own audience? Love to part of that business meeting where the developer promises the Sony boss less sales/more frustrated gamers. At the very least, they could offer a change mode if a person was stuck in an area for a certain amount of time.

Imagine how great it would be if doom were only brought out at nightmare difficulty? Or one hit death for everyone in TLOA because the developer had a vision of what the game should be.

I like fun games.
try out some of the souls games, you might like their unique style of challenge. dark souls is like £3 on 360 nowadays lol. Its always good to try games you don't think you'd like, because you never know until you give them a go.

What about rings, armor and souls being exclusive to so called "deluxe edition" and pre-order. Is it faithful to what Souls games stand for? I wonder what he will say about that.

Yes. Because Souls games have never had weapons or armour held back for special editions or preorders before...

This game is nothing like Doom on nightmare difficulty.

What is Demon Souls without the challenge really? Think about it.

Wrong, its only hard for new players. When you are a veteran player, especially if he has played a number of times. You basically know the in and outs of the zones and enemy placements. patrols, and what to exactly use in boss fights. Players make it hard if they make it that way.

This seems to be a problem unique to gaming too. No one tells horror movie directors they need to make a less scary version for people who don't want to be as scared. "Not everything has to be for everyone" applies to everything from music to movies to books. Why somehow games get treated differently continue to baffle everyone who isn't a retarded low-skilled games "journalist".

I think the part some of you are missing, is that skill level isn't the same for everyone. For you guys a "hard" game could be simply "challenging". For the next person, "hard" could be controller throwing frustration not worth even playing. Why would gamer number two not be worth Sony's money?

Usually I'm not shy about bumping difficulty down in games to get past an annoying spot and move on.

But with From Software games, the difficulty IS the game. The way they get you all amped up and sweaty palmed wouldn't work the same.

Makes me feel better that way 🤷‍♂️

The game does provide pathways to make reaching the end easier and you are uninterested. Why are those considered cheesy but more or less walking through a mode designed to be devoid of actual challenge isn't?

Feels a little like cheesing though.

Not at all. There are (or were) plenty of glitches and exploits, I was suggested playing the game within its rules. By your logic, playing a magic user is cheesing.
