Control Cloud Version Coming on Nintendo Switch TODAY

It's a free download... checking it out now. I'm wondering how they'll charge for it. Always presumed the Japan cloud version games charged in the eShop as normal.

Ah, so it's a "demo" for you to check on the performance which is fair. Then there is a link to the eShop.

Interestingly you can choose between streaming a "enhanced performance" or "enhanced graphics" version!

Don't want to click anything as I want to play this timed demo (doesn't say how long) later on.

edit: Couldn't help myself. Clicked on the eShop link and it states the Demo length is 10 minutes, and you need to have played it for 5 minutes before you're able to purchase an Access Pass from the eShop.

How much does an Access Pass cost?

Ok, I gave it the 5 mins in Graphics mode, it runs great! I have 76mps internet and although there was a bit of stutter at the start, it smoothed out and runs fine imo, it did seem a bit washed out in the color, but I think I set the brightness too high, so it may've been me

I actually forgot I was streaming it, I own the PC version already and need to jump back into the DLC

Access Pass is unlimited and is £34.99, so not too bad compared to the other next-gen console versions

Edit: Added a screenshot from in game

It seems Nintendo partnered with some third party.

According to those who tried works surprisingly good - so the streaming will arrive and probably sooner than some people expected.

Thanks for the info!! I assume access pass is equivalent to buying the game?

Pretty much, thats how the JP RE and Assassins Creed Odessey versions worked as well

Also to confirm my earlier post, I set the brightness too high, I lowered it and thats where the screenshot is from

Alright, 10 min trial done, ran absolutely fine in both modes, definitely can see a place for games like this to be streamed, it looks fantastic as well. I may get this for a cheaper price at some point as it is a really great game

My biggest issue is the queue, waiting to get into a queue to play a game I own is really offputting, however, this may be due the trial and the actual game when bought may not have that issue

Interesting...
I haven't ever played a streamed game but the impressions here sound promising and I will definitely give this a go.

They can be hit or miss, we're not quite there for infrastructure for it, but Stadia and xCloud are really good for me, I played through all of Division 2 and Metro Exodus on Stadia just fine and played Destiny 2 on Stadia and xCloud perfectly and Ubisoft is adding Uplay+ to Stadia in November which is looking to be a bargain at the min (Watch Dogs Legion and AC Valhalla for £13 a month? I can do that and get them both finished within that month)

I think their policy of not even letting you buy the game before you try it and confirm your connection is good enough is pretty cool.

Yea I think thats great, Stadia and Xbox allowing that is fantastic as well

This is for sure Geforce now streaming service...
Definitely.
Julien Cheize stated last year that his source told him that the Switch Pro would be a large tablet that would share it's power over the internet, harkening back to Nintendo's distributed computing patent.
I wonder if Nvidia and Nintendo have an arrangement that has Nintendo using millions of future consoles contributing to GeForce Now?

At up to 540p? Nah, I’ll take the cloud thank you very much
I'm glad it's there for you. If cloud versions of games are fine for you, then good. They're just not what I want out of the system. Half the time I'm using the Switch, I either don't have internet or I'm using a mobile hotspot. Cloud versions of games wouldn't even be playable for me half the time.

I don't want to imply that cloud versions shouldn't exist, but I'd rather them not be a primary focus either.

Yeah I'd just always assumed that it wouldn't be great but I've read a few different positive impressions now and it does seem like it does have a future in gaming.
I'll definitely give it a go and see how my connection holds up.

wat. this looks like it runs better than on PS4 Pro. holy crap.
Playing in performance mode and not noticing any input lag. Feels way better than Stadia and looks amazing on the small Switch screen.
do you have a wired connection?

The bolded is smart since this is gonna run like shit for a lot of people.

Hopefully there are huge warnings not to expect the same experience at home as on the road though lol

I’m with you, I just hate we we get these crappy ports with terrible resolution just to say the game runs on the switch. Given the patch process and the lag in updates for switch parity with other consoles, cloud offers a great solution (assuming it’s available to you for sure)

Performance mode runs A LOT better than what I played on the standard PS4, with some slight audio lag and reduced visuals. Graphics mode looks better than on PS4 but had some input lag. Played in docked, got good internet.

Overall, perfectly fine and playble, considering you get both DLC's in the package, it's not a bad deal.
