I'll pick this up in december when we get the next gen patch, for that beautiful 60fps and fov slider. I haven't played in a few month, got a little burned out after getting the trials gear.
Correct. This also launches the new player experience as well? (cant watch the video so sorry if its in there)

Do we know if it comes with a graphics update? It can be assumed that it'll always be using their latest, but anything major mentioned?
I circled back to Destiny on PS4 and was kind of surprised at how mediocre many parts of it look to me now, aliasing, low res textures here and there, fences are bad.
It's not the biggest thing, so don't jump me, just wondering if paying for the DLC comes with any sort of tune up apart from the next gen upgrade.
There should be an update to bring the game up to ps5/sex standard sometime in december I think.

I guess my question was - is the base Destiny game seeing any upgrades along with the DLC on the 8th gen consoles, or will graphics upgrades from here on out be limited to the next gen upgrade? I suppose we'll only see when the upgrade is out if anything got back ported.
My PS4 is gone anyways and I'm getting the PS5 so I guess it's mainly academic anyways lol
That Uldren is dead. Let it go.Season pass story stuff is a pleasant surprise, I wanna kick Uldren in the nuts for sure. Hope its as good as the Saint 14 stuff.

Oh.
Well, graphical upgrades are only for ps5/sex. The game will never run at 60fps on current gen.
I haven't played this game since Forsaken (Dec 2018). How hard will it be to jump back in and catch up in level?
Of course it won't, but major DLCs like The Taken King and I think possibly Forsaken did come with enhancements to the visuals. Not the full next gen patch that'll allow 60fps, of course. Compare year 1 Destiny 1 to its last DLC and they definitely upgrade the engine along the way, I was just wondering if the next few expansions will bring any of that or if graphics improvements will focus on next gen from here.
Levels are basically pointless for 75% of the content these days, and leveling goes super fast until you hit whatever the new soft cap is. Should be easy to jump back in. Plus a lot of the content is free to play now, so you could jump in and start leveling up without dropping a dime. I've been playing casually all year without buying any of the seasons. I'll be getting this expansion though, and jumping back in on the PS5. Looking forward to that first iron banner with 60fps.I haven't played this game since Forsaken (Dec 2018). I think that every time they add a new location or planet the graphics have bumped up a little at least for the environments, I assume some of those enhancements will still be perceptible on the old systems.
I got the PS4 for Bloodborne but a side effect, was playing the Destiny Beta. It got me hooked from Day 1
Its been my 'main game' for 6+ years. Shadowkeep was the first DLC/expansion I did not play at launch... It has it's grip on me again
Been my main game for the PS4 generation as well, one of the reasons I'm considering just going with the all digital PS5. I have such a huge digital backlog because of playing Destiny all generation.

the game desperately needs crossplay. It's a social game. A lot of new players have been streaming inThis will be on gamepass too which is nice

If every 'competitive' FPS can do it, Destiny can do it.
I recall Bungie stating in the Beyond Light reveal video from a few months ago that crossplay is something they are looking to implement in 2021
yeah last year was cross save, this year cross gen, next should be cross everything. Sure they can do it.
Still holding out hope for a switch port....
Maybe on the switch pro?
