Man I don't want to be hyped more than this

but in two weeks a console will launch with a completely new pad with differentiator tech, a completely new UI and 4 first party day one launch lineup games

one of them is free too

add to this the 3rd party console exclusive godfall
and 3rd party huge titles like cyberpunk , ac valhalla and cod among others
and the fact it is first time BC with 99% of ps4 games - previous gen -

this is one of the best console launches period
great job sony

hype people HYPE

Fro the controller I think they will very well be supported because it's an improvement over an existing tech like a rumble, the triggers setup should be a very basic API, when the gun is like this, have this setup. The UI features are the thing I'm a little bit concerned, that really requires another employee doing all that configuration, text, etc.

Yeah, think some of the UI features are going to be sadly under utilised for 3rd party games especially some devs who are very very picky on spoilers. Looking at you Altus.

I mean Microsoft surely will have to respond, there one is like ancient technology now.
Do they really though? Let's wait and see how many developers actually implement it properly in their games. Everyone is always impressed the first few days. I also thought that fishing in Zelda was amazing on the Wii. That was over pretty quickly.

Not to say it won't be great. Just that there's no reason to respond yet, since it might still be very gimmicky. And if that turns out to be the case, then there's no real reason for the Xbox controller to change, since it's already better in all the rest.

IntentionalPun

Ask me about my wife's perfect butthole
Controller + better load times will be the easy differentiator this gen... and it's honestly looking possible the PS5 is more powerful to boot, since we just don't have evidence of anything remotely close to Spiderman on XSX.

Xbox will be nice for Gamepass but I doubt I'll use it much.

Depends on ease of programming. It should be a piece of cake, given how VCAs function. They’re so accurate, devs will be a lot happier to use them than the outdated analogue rumble tech that’s impossible to get any real precision out of.

i think they need too, without a doubt Sony's studios are going to take advantage of this.

I mean there is a clear difference in quality between say Sony studios and Microsofts in producing the highest quality games, i am sure we can agree on that?.

Giving those Game studios even more ammunition to widen the gap just makes the Sony proposition even better, u need to combat that somehow.

In a few years time, you will be hearing reviewers saying stuff like, the new Forza is amazing but if only it had the Sony controllers feedback options. You 100% know this is going to happen yer?

Yeah, the fact that PC gamers have defaulted onto the Xbox controller means that it is a more of a constraining factor. PC inputs are rather fixed now.

If it stays relevant, and won't end up as a nice gimmick that doesn't at much, then yes. Time will decide.

we pc gamers have mainly defaulted to the xbox controller because it was natively supported and had that neat wireless adapter from the get go.
I´d have vastly preferred to not have to switch between controller layouts all the time and just use my DS4 but Sony never cared about PC and never offered comparable support/hardware.

Doesn't Steam natively support the DualShock 4?

well we can only go so far on what these early reviewers are saying, and by the looks of it the vast majority of them are in love with it, i see no reason whats so ever to embrace it.
Yeah, but like I said, that was the same with the Wii when people were bowling. Let's see how it is in 6-12 months.

See, this is the type of thing that XBox needs to respond to... quickly.

We've seen nothing this fast loading from them, and they've just spent the past couple of weeks talking all about fast XsX loading times on last gen games. None of which were as fast as this next gen game (albeit a short one, mainly designed to showcase the DualSense). These kinds of comparisons start to stick.

This came way too late in the gen and still needs a cable.
In the meantime Sony released a wireless adapter to use with PSNOW on PC, but that thing is extremely expensive and doesn´t work well in a lot of cases, no comparison to the plug&play of the xbox controller.

For a lot of 3rd person games I switch my PC`s output to the TV and play on the couch wireless with a controller and you can pretty much forget that with the DS4 in most cases.
Driver/hardware support for Sony`s controllers on PC still sucks.

i am not a basketball fan, more of a basket case "lollipop_disappointed:

Saying that, i think the court looks nice and it seems very smooth, HOWEVER, i don't like the back crowd in the stand, they seem very subdued. when the ball goes in the net i expect people to kinda cheer and stand up or something more than they are doing. Mind you i have never even watched a basketball game in my life so maybe that's normal, it just feels a bit off to me.

How do you respond to that? With software updates?

so glad there is tons of positivity for the new controller as Sony has been lacking in years in that department now its looking like they have improved on the vibrational feedback technology that was in both the Xbox and switch controllers.

The sensor on the other hand, hated it on the PS4

I have been to many NBA games and honestly for a regular season game the crowds are usually quite laid back especially early on in the actual game.

Bonus pic of when Lebron came to play my Pacers a couple of seasons ago.
