Just tried the demo of Mad Rat Dead
Played three levels. Definitely not easy to get good rank. I don't know if that could hold my interest for long though.

You don't like the neutral sound?Incidentally, these replaced a pair of Martin Logan speakers. Electrostatic speakers do some things well, but there are sooooo many drawbacks. I really didn't like them after the novelty wore off. Their more conventional designs aren't particularly good, and frankly, ML's stuff is all overpriced.
Not compared to Atelier Ayesha. The story is flat, the music is forgettable and I didn't care much for Ryza herself. Hopefully the sequel has the older titles' soul.Is Altier Ryza even any good? I’m trying to see if it’s worth watching Amazon for it to come back in stock.
All you need is 2 good speakers and a great sub.I am hoping to buy a new sound system in the next 8 months or so. I need to do some reading.

I've had some ML bookshelves before and I didn't notice any of these things.I do, but you also don't need electrostatics to get that. The problem is that placing electrostatic speakers properly is a pain in the ass, and if you're not directly in the right position, it sounds like shit. Literally to the point where there's one good listening position, and if you lean too far to the left or the right, the stereo image falls apart. Anything that the mid-woofer handles sounds like crap, and the crossovers aren't up to the task. And depending on the size of your room, they do a really poor job at higher volumes - they're loud, but not impactful.
Third party but seems legit. Is Altier Ryza even any good? I’m trying to see if it’s worth watching Amazon for it to come back in stock.
That’s the plan. Going to build it out slowly. The toughest part is the receiver/TV. I have a 2017 Samsung and it’s already out of date. 60hz, HDMI 2.0, no eARC, etcAll you need is 2 good speakers and a great sub.
That’s because they weren’t electrostatic speakers - they just used conventional cone drivers.I've had some ML bookshelves before and I didn't notice any of these things.
Prob, I don't actually remember what they were outside the name. I just remember they weren't boomy and they weren't ear piercing like Klipsch. That’s because they weren’t electrostatic speakers - they just used conventional cone drivers.

A few have 1 or 2 2.1 ports. This is the only one I know of that is supposed to be fully 2.1 w/ future update.Prob, I don't actually remember what they were outside the name. I just remember they weren't boomy and they weren't ear piercing like Klipsch.
Do we even have HDMI 2.1 receivers out yet? I'll have to wait 10 years before I replace my receiver. (or 5 considering how much I use it)
...of course there is.Apparently there is a bug in the HDMI chips/board used in Denon, Marantz and Yamaha HDMI 2.1 receivers that prevents 4k/120hz HDR or 8k/60hz HDR pass through. I'd wait to see if it's fixable in firmware.
Waiting is cool. I'm gonna play Prime 4 when it releases in 2024 with my Sony receiver.Apparently there is a bug in the HDMI chips/board used in Denon, Marantz and Yamaha HDMI 2.1 receivers that prevents 4k/120hz HDR or 8k/60hz HDR pass through. I'd wait to see if it's fixable in firmware.

Good, not great. For that price I'd take the plunge. I've only played the PS3 version.
5.7 gigs, if you like JRPGs you really can't go wrong for that price. It's not amazing or anything but it's a good enough time.
Cheers guys I'll give it a goJust under 6GB. I enjoyed the sequel on PC - the art style is gorgeous.
I quit playing shortly after getting the second character. Her brain dead AI made her dump all her mana in the first fight she got in then spend most of the time swinging at monsters and getting murdered. How is this , is it a big file size? Considering snapping that up for only 8 quid
What? We've had news from them each week for like six weeks now. Fire Emblem isn't huge news this week, but its still something. They'll probably be putting Pikmin and Hyrule Warriors front and center with maybe some other surprise announcement. I'm not expecting anything major until the Game Awards unless Pokemon Snap makes it out this year.Is it me or is it very, very quiet on the Nintendo front? I mean moreso than the "usual 2020" silence they've had.
I hope when they finally wake up, the megatons come with them.

The lowest Mario Kart 8 or any other big Mario game will be maybe $45.I just saw an ad about Mario games on Switch with the whole 35 anniversary thing. Are we supposed to expect a sale for Black Friday? I know first party titles rarely go on sale (cause why would they) but am I crazy for getting little hopes up? I am still missing MK8D and 3D All Stars from my wishlist
3D All-Stars is a limited release so that's not going on sale.

Walmart having them in stock in store is the tricky part. Specially Nintendo games, hell I've yet to see a New Horizons cartridge in person lol.You can get All Stars for $49.94 in store at Walmart. Same deal for MK8D, but maybe you'll get lucky and see it for $40 for BF at one of the retailers.
Speaking of $60...There are a handful of games on sale physically right now Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Xenoblade, and Splatoon 2. Trick or treat even goes live in Splatoon 2 soon.

Demand for Nintendo games is relatively inelastic. They don't have any trouble selling them at $60. That said, I have to wonder just how inelastic it is...how much revenue do they miss out on by not dropping the price later in the game's life?
In a world where games are all physical and there is manufacturing cost associated with printing and selling I can understand not printing additional units to fill demand at certain prices but with digital there it doesn't cost Nintendo anything to adjust
I know they have Player's Choice/Selects for this specific purpose but a lot of titles don't get that treatment and we don't even have that program for Switch yet.
No more plastic? Buy me 3!

Brickseed isn't accurate. I used to use it a bit back in the day. So heads up.Closest one to me is 20 minutes so it's not really worth it to take the trip even if they had stock for most of these games
For those that do live close to one you can check this link to see if you can grab Ni no Kuni for $10: https://brickseek.com/p/ni-no-kuni-wrath-of/7777326#in-store-offers

Don't get me wrong. I'm not suggesting that Nintendo pull a Ubisoft and run a $29.99 sale 2 months after launch. I was thinking more about titles like Kirby, Splatoon 2, and Xenoblade 2 that had been out for three years now. They could probably either receive a price drop digitally and/or the physical + digital Nintendo Selects treatment at this point and move some more units.I feel like they probably do well. A few other companies move 20 million copies between $20 and $60, with dips starting shortly after launch. Nintendo moves them all at $60, sans a rare holiday discount. With some Switch stuff on the way to 25 or 30 million copies, the longevity doesn’t seem hurt either.
To me the former approach just seems like such a bad way to do business. You’re positively reinforcing your customers to expect a game to dip well below it’s initial value, and simply to wait to pay you half-value or less, in which time preowned also becomes a possibility.
Maybe games wouldn’t need to be $70, if the market wasn’t becoming a race to the bottom.
If anything I expect more people to stop buying at launch and waiting two months for those deep discounts with games going up to $70.I feel like they probably do well. B...Br...Bros...
TFW all digital and no resale value at all...I have nothing but mixed feelings about Nintendo's pricing strategy.
Pros:
1. I get good resell value if I bother to sell my Nintendo games when I'm done with them. The challenge is actually knowing when I'm done.
Cons:
1. I don't get to experience every Nintendo game due to the prohibitive cost.
On Playstation, I have a lot of games that I paid very little or nothing for. I probably never play Horizon: Zero Dawn if it doesn't drop to $15. I've played a lot of good games on PS4 mostly because the price was right and I was bored at that moment. Conversely, I have paid full price for some games, and it can feel bad when the price is 60% off 6 months later.
