I found the cringiest scene in video game history.

It is probably the actors and how they act it imo. It could have been much better.
No, I don't think it could, both Yuna's and Tidus' actor did a great job. Tidus has just found out that the huge monster committing wanton destruction around the continent is actually his father and he just doesn't know how to process this so Yuna shows up and tries to help him. They are not psychiatrists or trained professionals when it comes to human behavior so they try to help each other the best they can and that is often with awkward humor or actions. This scene is incredibly natural and realistic, much like the awkward talk in Star Wars Episode 2 when a cloistered monk meets his crush after like 10 years and people complaining it is "dumb". Yeah, I am sure you were all truly Shakespearean when you talked with you first crush when you were teens.

Cool, we agree to dissagree.

I cba to argue over this point. You don't think they could have done better, I do, You dont think it was cringe, I do. Lets just leave it there. :messenger_relieved:

My original post was just a throwaway post, I don't want to get that deep into it.

Well, I am interested in hearing your opinion on the matter, but if you don't want to I won't pressure you. I hope you at least read my post and now understand why I think the scene is great.
I read your post and I have a lot of experience in the game. as I said earlier I loved FFX, I 100% it at launch and a couple of times after, I still have a ps2 memory card with well over 200 hours save on it, its one of my fave titles. This scene though for me is cringe, I cannot change the way I feel about it.

You can express yourself if you wish, this is a forum, I am here so I can listen to you, mate. If you want to just end it with "that's how I feel about it" then ok.

“Princess Beach” takes the cake for me regarding gaming’s cringiest scenes. I didn’t think the video in the OP was anything worse than most of the dialogue in Bulletstorm.

It was so out of place i died laughing while playing, cant belive no one in kojimas team called him out on the idea, soooo fucking stupid.

i am ok with gay people , just feel very uncomfortable with the scene,... bit cringe.... you see , i may pass hundreds of gays through life , thousands , millions....
i don't give one two or three shit cares....
i don't need my games showing me ..the reality... of being gay ,
when i see gay all around me, sue perkins swimming through shit laden waters in india on the bbc...etc.
if it is to educate , then i suggest , you keep education to the problem children , whom are confused, angry , nasty.

but to push the realities of being gay , on people whom never really cared, really doesn't fix anything that may be wrong , it just puts some off.. which is a shame.

why does it put people off?

why shouldn't it?? being homosexual , is normal.... to a gay person... what would you assume being gay is, to a none gay person???

I also agree with mcz117chief mcz117chief about FFX’s laughing scene, it feels awkward but that’s how it meant to be because they are forcing themselves to laugh.
It IS awkward and is meant to be awkward, yet I am wrong for cringing at it? Seems like my reaction is the reaction they were going for.

It’s awkward to watch anyone try force themselves to laugh, thats entire idea behind that scene.

The ultimate proof of homosexuals becoming totally mainstream will be when products with homo romances are laughed at & burned online for being the cringe-fests they are & ridiculed... like heterosexual romances are & have been forever when they're also sh*t.

So for example it's totally normal to laugh at Anakin & Padmé in Star Wars Attack of the Clones... right? but just because Ellies & whomever are lesbians they should get a free pass when their scene sucks beyond imagination? Nope. Welcome to the real world of normies.

you still talking about gay stuff again?

That same scene with a straight couple would still be cringe, the scene itself is just freaking terrible. The lesser of evils in this thread tho I think that Wolfenstein 2 one takes the cringe cake.

Actually no, the entire Wolfenstein Youngblood game should take the cringe cake. At least the Wolfenstein 2 scene showed booooobies.

My joint top 3 contenders:

Death Stranding: Princess Beach.
TLOU II: Bigot Sandwich.
FFX: The Laughing Scene.

I have 100% FFX multiple times. Getting all the celestial weapons, killing all the Dark Aeons, doing all the monster arena, it is one of my all time fave FF games. It has a great story, great combat, great characters, but that scene is definitely cringe even in context.
Congrtulations, but did you actually watch the cutscene?

If there only was other games you could play...
being homosexual , is normal.... to a gay person... what would you assume being gay is, to a none gay person???
Is this a trick question?
I bet the answer is the same as the answer to this enigma:
Being a homophobe is normal... to a homophobe... what would you assume being a homophobe is, to a none homophobe person???

Grow up a little and become more assured of your sexual orientation. I bet you would feel better.

Most awkward thing here is the moves, the dialogue and that transition from cutscene to controlling Ellie. It’s pure uncanny valley.

The scene was always cringey (as is most of KH), but Mickey getting mad and entering kickbutt mode will never not be one of the hypest moments in KH for me. Too bad they didn’t give us the chance to play as him and go to town against 5,000 Heartless scared shitless of the King’s wrath.

Now I'm just picturing a wrinkly aunt in a black mullet wig with pink balloons taped to her ass taking a dump in the andes.. right from the sphincter perspective.. God damn you
Thread of the week here, I love GAF.

Too bad someone just had to barge in and start screaming homophobia as usual.

I thought Uncharted 4 was done rather well

Amazing game with a good stock story and loveable characters.

But Cuckmann couldn't help himself and had to bring a sassy black woman to beat the crap of both the male protagonists at the same time because do you know that women are as strong or even stronger than men?

And his desire for feminist & woke fanservice it's becoming bigger and bigger, we went from Nadine to that Tumblr fanfic called The Last Of Us 2.

I wonder what we will see in the next Cuckmann entry. I'm already salivating.

I never understood how this series became a thing. Is it because people play it ironically? Kinda like so bad it's good?

It's a bunch of Disney characters who were designed for funny strips and comics, in a video game that takes itself too seriously with the melodrama and story while having some sappy and happy scenes that make it look like a toddler's product.

First time i saw it i thought it was going to bomb hard but here we are. I mean, the gameplay must be a masterpiece of design for anyone to go through that crap.

Speaking of games that look ridiculous but take themselves too seriously:
Whenever you mention video games and cringe in the same sentence, there's always a Sonic related event that will upstage anything you're thinking of.

Let's just pick this one, why not.

I don't even know it's even homophobia, or perhaps they have never personally been in a loving relationship akin to what's on screen.

I'm not being mean, I promise. But it's a really loving and sweet scene, and given context on when this entire chapter happened, it was that breathe of fresh air the game needed before plunging us back into its abyss.

Anyone happily married, or happily in love, can relate to that scene - male or female.

Maybe I'm just taking crazy pills.

Whenever a little lesbian girl that dresses like some slob dude tries to act as if she was a horny man, with the same mannerisms and all, then all you can do is cringe.

And let's not forget Dina is there with the baby she got from the dude she cuckolded with Ellie. All so they can form the lesbian fantasy so progressive family with a stock minority baby.

I mean, it's not a documentary, everything there is a play on the woke fantasies of the people who made the game.
