Oh I kinda remember that - look I’m gonna get demon souls - but I already was buying the ps5. It’s certainly the best game they have at launch exclusive to either console (don’t give a shit about spider man mm). But I guess when I think “system seller” I’m thinking more on like the level of Halo 1-3, GTA 3, Zelda etc

Yeah Your right, its not on the level of Halo, GTA, Zelda.

Dark Souls is pretty big though, if they do right by Miyazaki It should be awesome.

System seller or killer application is such a flawed concept.

Even if you buy a console specifically for a game, your brain knows that you surely gonna buy other games for that console, especially if it's not a nintendo console where majority of third party games don't even arrive.

So you never really buy a console for only one game in the majority of cases.

Demons Souls is likely the only launch game I will buy at launch. So, for me it's somewhat of a "system seller", tho I do not think my opinion on this translates to most other potential PS5 buyers. My feeling is there really aren't any actual "system sellers" for either new console, tho DS comes the closest (which is ridiculous when we consider its a remake of an 11 year old game).

The primary reason I'm buying both consoles at launch is backwards compatibility. I love the idea of playing my huge console backlogs with the best available visuals. It's that simple for me. If not for BC I'd def be waiting on PS5 for a black version and possibly a black slim version. I might even take a pause on XsX but given how good MS BC has been with One X it was a forgone conclusion I'd be upgrading right away.

Yeah I'm in the same camp.

The only reasons I didn't go for either Xbox or Playstation yet is partly due to the shortage/scalper bullshit but also because the PS5 launch titles were "meh" and I'm not quite convinced by Sony's mid-term first party content. Also I'm kinda waiting for maybe June/July this year to see what Microsoft shows (all those new studios must be working on something). I'm holding off on getting a PS5 until I can be sure I won't miss out on Xbox.
