The way I understand this review is they should have give up the looting part and focus to make the story part really good. It looks like the story has good potential but is kind of messed up by the looting part and the GaaS aspect.

i played anthem and it was less broken than this one (but still pretty broken), but the core gameplay was worse (except the flying part, that was better in anthem)
so them having a similar score is not a surprise.
if they decide to make a 2.0 version of both there is a lot of potential to discover here.

If Square ever decides to make a 2.0 version they need to immediately shoot themselves in the head, send Crystal Dynamincs back to make another Tomb Raider and send Eidos Montreal back to making more Deus Ex and forget about this trash.

Perhaps if this doesn't sell enough, they'll return. Deus Ex can succeed. Its a first person RPG. Maybe Cyberpunk will create some waves in the cyberpunk genre.

Does anyone here play on ps4 and have the game randomly ignore your attack button inputs and instead run in a random direction?

Haven't run into that myself. Worst thing I've had is framerate hiccups when too much is going on on screen.

I hate when that happens. Are you on a Pro? I'm on a standard 1st generation one. I turned off all motion blur. Do you think it runs better with or without it, or same?

I'm on a Pro, only just recently started to see it pop up here and there. Gotta mess with the settings a bit more, I hadn't touched Motion Blur so it is still at a 10. Maybe I'll turn it down and see if I notice anything

Eh I've given up on MC in general, if it looks like fun I'm in. I have really enjoyed this game, it has Destiny 1 year one feels so far, as in kind of limited seeming end game out of the gate, but that's how games like these start. It gets labeled as GaaS but honestly I don't feel like I need to spend a dime, you can earn in game currency to use on things that don't really matter or you can spend cash to help pay for the free DLCs. Really no different then kickstartering a game to give it funds to make it/improve it.
I spent a good amount of time at launch jumping between twitch streams just asking questions and after seeing a bit I jumped. It has potential as long as they keep working on it, and they have had a good amount of updates already to the game (Not sure what they fix, but they do them).
As long as they push forward it'll end up scored similar to Destiny, which if it can carve out a future like that with much more FUN gameplay it'll be a longterm success

Get your shovel and find a hole for this game. Clearly the hope is to actually make this a real game for next gen consoles as what we've been given is nothing short of Anthem-treatment.
Will likely never touch this game again and I fully fault myself with all the red flags I personally saw. Pretty game on my PC but it's a single player game with broken multiplayer.
