Its one month. Its just one month. Everyone calm down. Its not like mobile industry that you have many options every year. You have 3 console making companies and 8 years to buy all 3. We will all be okay.

Sony's strategy is simple. Let people complain about TFlops and in about 2 months boom, check mate. They are cocky as always.

They are in this business for many years. People who are complaining should have some faith in them.

“Faith without doubt leads to moral arrogance, the eternal pratfall of the platform convinced.”

I'm not asking in a trolling way only in that I think I missed out on something..
have we actually seen the PS5 outside of renders yet?

When there is smoke, there is fire.
There are a lot of signs that the PS5 doesn't go the way Sony wants.

I want my old Sony back.
Care to elaborate on the smoke and the signs?
My point is that, we are getting spaced out dumps of information. Concise, direct and with results show on hardware.
Why rush it? Stadia is a prime example of rushing things.

They could go and drown us with CGI trailers and make us wait for years on end. I prefer this approach much better.
It's there, running on the console and you'll have it in less then 2+ years.

Give us the damn UI and OS feature list. Show someone playing on the console and do one big final reveal with all this together like with the ps4. I don't really care tbh cause I'm waiting til 2021 but it's weak all the same.

You mean like spacing out the fact there was ps4 versions of horizon and spiderman about 6 months lol. Silence is bad it was bad in 2013 it is bad now. When a company is all secret squirrel they are doing shady shit. It sucks we were basically unified in 2013 calling out Microsoft now it is well Sony makes some great games so they can do anything they want. Great studios don't mean the bad management and business unit can't be called out.

This is been in the back of my mind since like forever, what are these things, i can't wait to find out.

Something big is brewing, in the next 6 weeks all will be revealed

Or maybe not. I mean, firmware updates that add functionality are a common thing nowadays.

Maybe they will add this killer functionality even later.
Or maybe it's Jim fucking Ryan and it was all just bs.

I remember when everybody wanted to know if Sony was going to do the same thing as MS with its xboxone and Sony had the answer but waited in silence. I´m optimist I think they are silent because they are preparing to break the internet. :messenger_sunglasses:

Mmh, would love to, but if I start with the beginning of what happened in my opinion, I'd touch a bannable subject on this forum, and like I said in the ban thread, I respect the mod's stance on this. ;)

Google was more vocal about Stadia for fuck sake

Exactly. Being vocal.has nothing to do with the quality of the product especially for Playstation whose mindshare already overwhelms the competition.

Sony has a plan and they are sticking to it. Not MS nor MS fanboys impatience will disrupt Sony's plan.

Silence is a good thing. I was taught growing up if you don't have anything good to say you should stay quiet.
The thing is that Playstation is a well-known brand so in order to lose it really needs to seriously f*ck up. So even being good or ok, it will still have the reputation it built and a huge amount of sold consoles. Like Apple.

Xbox lost a lot of goodwill at the end Xbox 360 generation among the hardcore fans and Xbox One also tarnished the reputation of Xbox among hardcore fans again and even the general population - in comparison to PS4. So MS goes to a great length to restore the reputation.
Potential is huge though.

Fair enough. Hopefully when all is said and done, we can go back to your reasons then.

It was nuts alright. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

I really don`t get this kind of complain abut lack of information.

I much preffer Sony style than other trying to spin things left and right. In the end what matters are the games and how they play.

I work in marketing and no....it is not a good sign not telling your atributes.
Yeah, sorry OP, I see what you're getting at but this doesn't add up at all. As someone that has worked in community management and worked closely with marketing... Nope. Silence doesn't ever really do any good for a product. Especially one with a hefty price tag.

My point is, they said what they needed to keep the ball rolling. Now they are waiting to make an impact is all.

Pre-orders volume proves that its working for them.

Sony can basically do anything, and this forum will eventually have a thread pop up about how its a good thing. That's coming from a fan of Playstation.
I'm a fan of PlayStation too.
But I still don't have all the info to make an early jump to a PS5, in fact. With Game Pass, with the acquisition of Bethesda, the power of the console, and how fast it is, Series X looks to me, a super interesting console. I don't have the same amount of info on PS5

Oh yeah, most definitely! But that's thanks to their name, reputation, and the success of the Playstation 4, really. People are going to preorder or plan on it based on those merits alone.

But that doesn't mean that a lot of those customers (and potential customers) are happy with the fact that they're invested in something that they still don't know much about and its release is weeks away.

Anyone defending Sony's silence and general lack of messaging and poor communication for this launch needs to have their head examined.
Sony has always been a bit shit about messaging but if you compare how forthcoming they were with the launch of the PS4 compared to the PS5 it's like night and day, they seem absolutely clueless on how to keep customers engaged.
Not sure if this is a management issue or what but it's remarkable how bad the PS5 launch has been thus far.

Seems to me they've put up more stuff about actual PS5 games today than MS has done all year for their titles.

Sony’s messaging has been an absolute disaster, hasn’t it?

...they’re probably keeping relatively quiet just because they’re worried about fucking this level of engagement up.
