The truth about Sony not showing a PS5 and Microsoft not showing games running on the Series X

People have been wondering what's up with Microsoft not showing next-gen games running on the Series X. There is also another group of people asking why we haven't seen the PS5 (teardown, UI, retail units etc).
Lucky for you, I got the answer.

Let's start with Sony.

The reality is, Sony only has a single, functioning retail unit. It also serves as a development kit for all of their first and third-party devs. That's why you won't see the PS5 for a while, it's being worked on 24/7.

What about Xbox? Well, Series X is the opposite. They got 15M units ready to roll but none of them can run next-gen games. Apparently, there is a major hardware failure causing next-gen games to crash on startup.

Where does that leave us? Glad you asked.

Insiders are reporting that Sony and Microsoft are planning to merge and do a single console named the BoxStation that will run PS5-developed games on Series X hardware (the hardware failure doesn't affect PS5 games, believe it or not).

There's a 50% chance you'll hear the announcement of the new partnership before the end of the month. I'd like to stress, however, assuming they fix their issues, this might end up not happening.

You heard it first Gaf and since it's from Thug, you know you can take it to the bank.

Thank you.

I mean yeah, that does explain it.

I still believe the insider gods that says Nintendo and Apple will join forces to create Nipple.

Soon, you'll see nipples everywhere. Everyone will have a nipple.

So no one saw an actual PS5 but we all know all games were running on an actual PS5. Makes sense.
And Sony would never lie. They also said that they believe in generations. And that you can’t use the PS4 controller for PS5 games for whatever reasons.

Its mostly true. Except SEGA is buying Sony and MS. The only next gen consoles will be called Chilly Dog and Bethesda is exclusively making games for it. No 3rd parties allowed.

It will all be controlled by the Kinect 3.

I know this is a joke thread but just to address the 2 main points..

1) We have not seen a PS5 in the flesh - Well we know for a fact that they are manufacturing these on mass for November release, so this is a non-issue.

2) We have not seen next gen games running on actual XsX console - This is weird this close to release, if everything is good, why not shoot some trailers or gameplay running on XsX? This could mean they are still ironing out some issues on XsX or it could mean nothing. Time will tell.

Hmmm.

Not 100% convinced Thug. Can you create Twitter and YouTube accounts where you scream into the camera about how close you are to Phil Spencer and Jim Ryan, and get Jason Schrier to call you by your chosen pronoun. That should really secure your credentials for all of us 👍

Well take it with a grain of salt, since this is that type of thread I guess you can sort of speak around NDA. I cant speak for Sony, but the reason MS has not shown anything yet is that they are saving it right before launch. There is another Acquisition. It might began with an S, but it could be a C. It also might be the S company you're not thinking about. One S might end in Soft. MS might be going for the crown of Japanese gaming. Also look out for a new game pass feature. I could never decide if it was up up down down left right left right ba start or ab start I know this sounds abit much. MS is also getting really flirtatious with another company, MS has mentioned having their virtual console on game-pass and this company is mulling it, but not sure how it would work out for them . The talks are more around classic titles and cross overs. Finally the biggest secret at least two triple A titles unannounced ready for launch. One with a female protagonist. And the other possibly could prevent forest fires. Fact or Fiction you decide, we will know next month.
