Ya i got my Shopto Day one pre-order confirmation yesterday. However you have to pay for it by 28th October. I paid for mine yesterday to get it outta the way. also got Demon souls and spider man and an extra controller coming as well

Need to book a weeks Annual Leave for this and Cyberpunk 2077 same week nice
Yours is 28th? That is weird, mine from Shop To says 31st lol.

Guess it is a way to stagger incoming payments.

Isnt shopto banned from neogaf? I know we werent allowed to talk about them in 2014.

Haha. Pathetic if true, a ban on discussing a retailer. No doubt the loser who brought that rule in has made their way to ResetEra.

ShopTo are my go-to choice actually, usually the cheapest for new releases and the games come a day early more often than not. Their handling of PS5 pre-orders was a mixed-bag, it rewards people like me who registered an interest earlier in the year though obviously a lot of people who made it after the recent event feel misled.

When you pay, only pay for two items within 3 hours. Buying 3 items triggers ShopTo’s fraud system and will freeze your payments. Read this on Twitter yesterday as a few people were having this issue

I pre ordered mine months ago so I'm high up the retailers list. I'm nervous until I have confirmation of a day 1 ps5 but I'm hopeful.

Song screwed the pooch all the way around here. Each retailer should have had allotment numbers based on MINIMUM manufacturing numbers, and should only have gotten better in the weeks following the initial ore order phase, meaning the initial pre orders are covered, and having more units available for pre order periodically leading up to launch. Horrible job all the way around.

How is a retailer taking too many orders Sony's fault??

Don't pass gaas, it is your Destiny!
Was listing to the CAGcast over the weekend and Chibi was saying how his links show ps5 sold way more on one retailer (the one sending out emails that you might not get ps5 on launch in the US) then any other retailer.

Really sucks for every one that needs it day one but sure with in a few months you will easily be able to get your game Box of choice.

If they took too many pre orders it’s because they either didn’t get allotment figures from Sony, OR even worse, they did get allotment numbers from Sony then were told by Sony they couldn’t meet them all.

Or they took more preorders than the allocation they were told they'd get. Which given ShopTo were taking preorders since early in the year is a likely scenario.

Considering I was sent an email saying my preorder wasn't guaranteed on release date. Anyone know if Amazon is getting more stock too?

And if not, Jim Ryan can expect a

Any reason as to why? They've been excellent for me and thousands of others.
Pre-ordered a highly exclusive item from them (Ni No Kuni Wizards edition).
Then they emailed and said that the price had gone up and I had to pay more.
After I paid that they tripled the price on the postage claiming it had to be sent by courier rather than post.
When I asked for why and proof of the courier costs they cancelled my pre-order.
Took three months to get my money back.

They are scum.

Yep. I expressed my interest back in March, which is when they take the priority in the queue from. Was painless. Amazon I just went on for the DE and am hoping I get one. UK Amazon are quite good I believe though.
Strangely both me and my sister ordered when they first started, sadly she got the bad news email
Because then they can't take everyone's money.
They don't take any money and tell you not to prepay until it's confirmed

I've never seen this, the price you pre-ordered at is the price you pay even if it goes up in price, unless it's reduce and they automatically reduce it
Never seen it go up in price in my 8 years with them.

Guess im keeping both my walmart and amazon pre orders. Worst case, I end up with 2 and return one.

I'll have to be the spoiler and tell you that anyone that put down $0 towards a ps5 preorder will not get one.
Thats literally not how it works at all here in the US. Online retailers dont charge until it ships. And in stores like gamestop dont go by who pays the most.

edit: this is one retailer in the UK. I'm pretty sure they are all just being cautious

Given most of the retailers in the UK haven't taken anything yet and don't charge until the week before launch, I can safely say you are talking rubbish.
Unless you are trying to claim Game online, Amazon, etc etc are not going to be delivering any of them!

The biggest retailer in the world does not charge anyone until their preorder dispatches, this is a pure allocation issue, money is only an issue if someone misses the date the console needs to be paid by or goes with a retailer that charges on the spot.

Do some research buddy.

Trolling must be fun. Gotta root for team Green a see.
Not really....I'm much more excited for PS5 but that doesn't change how messy this launch is. I'm mostly following news on PS5 but I feel like I know more Xbox Series X/S than I know about PS5.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted in the gaming side, but look at my history and you’ll see I’m no fan of Xbox. I just don’t pull punches when I think one of these companies is fucking up.

So what's your definition of screwing up then? Because Sony has had 2 rounds of pre-orders selling out and they have multiple first-party games that are coming out at launch. Plus more games in the launch window.

You do know more about the Xbox Series than PS5. That's correct. Doesn't mean MS is handling their launch better. Here's the thing......I buy consoles to play their games, not watch Youtubers preview and review them for 20 minutes a clip. I care "more" about the games I'll be playing than what the UI looks like or some internal teardown of the system.

Games also my reason choosing PS5 over Series X but it wouldn't hurt Sony be more open about their system thats about to come out, for example: I would like them to release simple video of how BC is going to work on PS5, what games are supported? Can I simply put PS4 disk on PS5 and play my PS4 games on it? I just want proper preview of PS5.

I got my PS5 from a local GameStop. The hour pre-orders went live. I'm sure my pre-order is good for launch day.

It's my Xbox Series X that I'm worried about and even then...I have a PC lol. I can wait for that system.

The shop I got my PS5 pre-order from confirmed that it’ll be available launch day so hopefully no bad surprises.

FUD, I guarantee you retailers will have enough units to cover preorders and have some left for in store on launch day.

FYI my nephew and I walked into GameStop a day before release and bought PS4s here in the US.

This whole saga doesn't make any sense to me. It's not like millions of people pre-ordered in a matter of less than an hour at Amazon. And, the launch is more than a month away.

Isn't it simple matter of telling Sony we need x number of ps5, which I think no where near a million, and just get them ready in a month of time? For a giant retailer like Amazon, it should be a simple matter assuming Sony's claim of over 10 million units for the next few months of launch.

Shouldn't those numbers been given to retailers before pre-orders opened? Man, Sony is off to a BLISTERING start already.:messenger_tears_of_joy:
It says in the OP that shopto did pre-preorders. As in they asked for people to preorder their preorder before stock allocation. This is fine as long as people knew they were just registering in a line.

I heard amazon took 250,000 orders alone and sold out in minutes . Not sure how true that is though

Atleast this is not Overclockers with the RTX 3080, "Not sure when you'll get it could be Nov or Dec but definitely not Sept and highly unlikely Oct" and still taking pre-orders with no warning on buy page lmao

any word from gamestop?

Log in to your account at their site and see what it says under the preorder column. Mine says Release is 11/12/2020 and that I have 44 days left till I can pick it up at my local store

I didn't do online though, I was literally the 2nd person to preorder at my local store since I ran up there halfway through the Sony presentation that day lol..does yours look like this?
