Its Avowed vs Elder Scrolls 6 for Xbox Fans

Place your bets now. Which studio will win this epic WRPG battle

Which one will sell more / be more popular? Elder Scrolls, duh.

Which one will I enjoy more? Don’t really like Elder Scrolls so I’m betting on Awoved. But it’s pure guesswork at this point.

Obsidian need reinforcements if they're going to make a top AAA RPG. They've been bleeding quality staff since F:NV and their writing team is currently in a horrible, sophomoric state.

elder scrolls stopped being good once skyrim hit. bethesda seemingly is getting worse at making RPG's also, being that every title following skyrim has been trash.

"kinda" gamers who cant tell the difference in quest quality and RPG features in morrowind/oblivion vs. Skyrim are the people that are still excited for elder scrolls. sad that Skyrim is what got the series popular, sets a bad precedent.

avowed indicates that it is a dev that understands the things elder scrolls is now missing. Why are we pretending that Bethesda is...good in 2020?

looking forward to both, but unless Obsidian is going to see big staff and budget increase, i don't think they will be able to compete. Outer Worlds looked like a cross gen 360/X1 game, and the writing and characters weren't particularly good for a studio renowned for their writing

maybe they could have better combat though, that is where Elder Scrolls is weakest

Avowed will have better writing and characters. I'll be surprised if there's 1 memorable character in the whole of TES6.TES will most likely have more depth and scale though, thanks to its budget.

I hope one of these games will atleast have combat that isn't dogshit.

Avowed will be skyrim with a better sotry and next gen graphics. ES6 will probably have different gameplay elements from previous ES games.. hopefully something new.

Starfield vs Avowed might end up being a more apt comparison.

We’ll probably be lucky to see Elder Scrolls by like 2024 if not 2025. Unless Microsoft puts a giant boot up their ass anyway.

Even if they'd put a boot up their asses its just isnt possible to create a new Elder Scrolls that fast. BGS isn't a big studio, even now with its 4 offices they have like 300 employees split across different projects. Cyberpunk2077 has 1,100+ employees

Elder Scrolls will obviously sell more, but which game will be the better game?, so many variables involved.
Skyrim is arguably my fave game of all time, but that doesnt mean ES6 will be amazing. And Obsidian may just catch that New vegas juggernaut again with Avowed

Avowed for sure.
Obsidian has been making some good stuff these past years (even if Outer Worlds was a bit disappointing) and I can't wait to see what they do with a higher budget.

Bethesda hasn't made a good single player RPG in at least 9 years.

There's not really much to go on at this point. Outer Worlds was an excellent start for Obsidians own 1st person RPG and I'm excited for Avowed.

But I think it also showed how limited they are, at least for now, in providing that open world exploration and sense of discovery the Elder Scrolls games have had. Could obviously change by the time Avowed is out but for now I'd place my bet on ES6, despite how poor recent Bethesda games have been.

But really, just gonna get both ✌🏼

After skyrim and the outer thing i first have to see some SERIOUS good stuff before getting excited again from both bethesda and obsidian...

clunky mechanics, shitty combat, mediocre story, woke agenda, and games filled with thousands of bugs are not gonna cut it in the nextgen for me.

I'm hopeful, seeing early signs of the direction InXile took with new Microsoft money. Basically MS were hands-off except for offering exorbitant support and the additional staff they offered seemed to be a great fit.

Nature has an order, a power to restore balance so let them fight. lol

Honestly, though I am super excited for both and there is no way to choose one over the other. World wise, maybe I would lean a bit towards Avowed, because I really haven't got a clue about their world compared to TES universe. I think both will be amazing games.

Not an asshole.
Personally I thought Outer Worlds had pretty mediocre writing and characters. I couldn't get into Pillars of Eternity or Tyranny either. The combat in POE felt like it was just in the way the whole time.

And while the story sucked in Fallout 4 I enjoyed exploring the world, and Skyrim was fun as hell despite all its jank.

Bethesda just knows how to make a fun world to explore.

Yea I think the fact it's getting both is all the info I need to know I'm spamming refresh on Microsofts store right now.

Obsidian will probably end up putting more love into their game. I have yet to be disappointed from that talented studio. I really like the world of Pillars of Eternity.
