Can we expect The Elder Scrolls VI to take full advantage of the Xbox Series X hardware?

So, unless I'm mistaken, Bethesda never did announce which console platforms their next main entry of the epic RPG franchise would release on. I believe it's assumed to be a next-gen title since Starfield is a higher priority at the moment and this newer entry has yet to enter full production. With the latest news of Microsoft acquiring parent company ZeniMax Media, would this mean The Elder Scrolls VI might take full advantage of the Xbox Series X hardware? Interestingly, there hasn't been a title in the series that was a console exclusive to Xbox since Morrowind and this was at a time when the Xbox brand had alluring exclusives like Jade Empire, Crimson Skies, Knights of the Old Republic etc. Perhaps Microsoft is working towards something similar this upcoming console generation given their acquisitions? What do you think?

I don't think any of us have any clear idea of how much work is done on it yet. Just that it's after Starfield which is also releasing ???.

If it's barely started yet, sure, they'll probably gun for it, if they're already a fair bit into it it's going to be about a game dev cycle(3-4 years) before seeing the benefits of integration.

It'd most likely be incredible. Since it's still years away(and past the point of the MS mandate of cross platform play for a year), we *should* be good?!

I really hope Bethesda does not intend to limit the PC version graphically, due to this development - I can't imagine they would. But the fact is, Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind were Tailored for PC and ported to consoles (and they did a great job in most cases). I hope that remains true moving forward.

Yeah I imagine so. ESO is cross gen so it frees them up to make that next gen dedicated game. Plus I think generally their games follow the long legs model rather than the front loaded spike sales model.

PC is probably still the tailored version they are developing for but now they would have one less console platform to worry about. It would just be PC, Xbox Series X and S. That said, I'm not too familiar with the Series S. Would it really affect how the Series X and PC versions look like and perform?

IF bleeding Edge PC's are not Bethesda's go to for development, then I'm afraid it's already effected the PC version's outcome.

By Bleeding Edge, I do mean 2080ti's in SLI if you consider SLI now finally delivers over 165% performance or an extra 45 Frames Per Second Per card performance improvement with the latest benchmarks that only just released within the last 2 weeks.

If the elder scrollsnis any indication the answer is always.

Realistically I don't expect TES6 to come out while the Series X is the hot new thing. We still haven't even seen Starfield.

It will also be on the most powerful gaming hardware, the pc, why wouldn’t it take advantage of the XSX ?
Well then maybe Bethesda can give us back the ability to fly in TES, then? Because he took that away for Oblivion and never gave it back, just because last gen consoles couldn't do it. Please don't act like you know anything about PC gaming, until you actually played them.

I actually forgot this game was announced.

No, the game won't take advantage of next gen consoles. They probably still use their old engine for their current project.

Microsoft as a software company will probably help iron out the bugs that Bethesda’s modding community would usually have to do.

Ah yes, MS, the Company famed for stamping out bugs.
And what do you mean "take full advantage" ?
ES6 will run on the same creaking 9 year old Engine that couldnt handle all the interactive objects in Skyrim.
No matter the hardware, it will be buggy, resource hungry and unstable for years to come.

I have to be honest, I hope some of the AI jank remains.. some encounters I get into way before my character is at an appropriate level I only survive because the AI can be manipulated to take the long way around objects and not kill me instantly.

I just hope they take their time and polish it so we don't have those annoying bugs that have plagued every Bethesda game.

I didn't encounter much bugs during my playthrough of Skyrim, but they were still there and they were irritating at times.

You don't think optimizing for less platforms and newer hardware will make any difference?

Never expect anything from TES, you will always will be disappointed and will hear the same old song "too expansive, mah mods!".

Maybe NEXT Tes. See you in 10 years.

Given Bethesda's track record with RPG engines, it's probably look decent with uber high textures, have awesome scope, but be jankfest.

That's the Bethesda RPG way.
