Well they actually released a new game very recently called Shoujo Jigoku no Doku Musume on PS4 and Switch, not a tactical RPG though, some shooting game with odd mechanics.

Not sure about a new Disgaea though, it's been about 5 years now since the last actual new one, so it might not be that far off unless they put it on ice.

RIGHT ON THE MONEY BTW, see I'm not always wrong!

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Perfectly.

Buy them both. Incredible games.
Like, 60 fps? Nice, will start with the first one soon then. :D

How solo-able is Monster Hunter? My Switch playtime is always broken up into smaller bits.
Its enjoyable in short bursts too or playing solo, so don´t worry.

Great Mini Direct. I wish they were all like this.
Best one so far, for sure. Didn't hurt that the runtime was long enough to show off more than four games.

I may end up eating my words on Mini Directs. As long as they don't cost us mainline Directs altogether, I guess they aren't so bad.

Rise And Stories 2 are something I'd like to see more of from third parties on the Switch.

The visuals don't have to be the absolute 'ahhhh' best, if you just bring awesome, original games to the platform. This doesn't apply to Rise (maybe Stories), but it's also an opportunity to play with new, interesting, niche, or risky games that might not sell well on the other systems, or be made with a huge budget, which is something gaming sorely needs.

Just catching up. Nothing in the direct spoke to me personally but happy for MH fans and those who wanted to play Ori but don't have a Xbox.

SMT mini direct was my favorite partner show so far.

More importantly though, do I need to track down another 2DS XL as a back up now that they are done? Wish I had bought that Zelda Hylian shield one a few years ago.

Yes, and it's also just great to see Capcom supporting Switch. It can't be forgotten that they were one of the companies to review the Switch hardware and boldly requested Nintendo to double the amount of memory in the system. It felt like a bit of a slap in the face when Monster Hunter World skipped Switch, but here we are finally with Capcom support. It only took 60 million Switch units sold!

That would be nice, Rune Factory 5 and even Disgaea are good examples of that too

The only problem is, there are certain expectations when putting a retail product on the system, making a Switch game is much more expensive than 3DS or Wii, the line when you could make a nice looking game with low budget a small team and on short time was crossed during the PS360 generation. Except for Indies wich are sometimes digital only

Not that those games won't be coming anymore but im no surprised they declined after 3DS, it was inevitable.

Still the Switch is becoming a good home for many time of software

Great directs today. If I was SONY or MS I’d be a little worried today with 2 MH games coming out in 2021. Maybe not so much in the west but the east will eat this up like crazy.

I believe a World 2 will come in time, when PS5/SeX has reached good install base, not sure if it will come to Switch 2 but World was very very succesful on the home platforms

Switch success doesn't really affect the other systems they work well together, Switch may grab a Disgaea or Rune Factory like PlayStation takes niche games sometimes but its not a big deal unless you play on one platform only

Indeed, but I think there's still an opportunity there. In fact, I think it's one Capcom took -- this looks good, but it's a clear cut below World. The brief snippet of gameplay in Stories 2 (which, btw, ridiculously rare) also shows something similar.

Switch gamers don't really care about visuals as much as they do great gaming, as well as the platform being less powerful, so there's leeway to do some projects with significant budget reduction. Not as much as 3DS, DS, and Wii, which must have been a practical vacation from big budget gaming for developers, but it's there.

True, im always surprised when looking at Three Houses and seeing how much it sold, good gameplay beats visuals only on Switch

Maybe it's just me, but those GCN and Wii games upscaled to full HD look almost as good as modern titles.

I know we've had disagreements over this in the past, but it just seems very odd to me that it suddenly takes a lot more time to produce games in 720p/1080p than it did for 480i. I understand higher detailed models and much bigger textures. What would it take to get a new Donkey Kong Country? Rare made 3 of those over a 3-year span. We've got a good foundation in Tropical Freeze.

I do agree that older stuff that targeted artistic visuals rather than realistic ones, have aged shockingly well. Just looking at Sunshine everywhere in the news today, that's a good looking game, to say nothing of Galaxy.

You can definitely produce good enough visuals on a much lower budget/team size, and those games show it.

Also, wish I was hyped about MH, but the series never clicked with me and I flat out dropped World when it hit high rank because it turned into bullshit. Hope this is the one to make me a fan, the concept itself is fine.
It became my favorite multiplayer franchise once I played it with my cousin locally, seriously it's that good and fun.
And I've always played solo before that, starting from MH Freedom Unite.

I played it solo. To the game's credit, it was really fun up until it hit high rank, then it became bullshit to do solo. But hey, MH Stories looks really fantastic, so maybe that's the one for me.

Has anyone ever surpassed the water in Sunshine??

If they have, I'm sure it's an off-the-shelf thing you can buy and insert into your <insert-engine> game.

What time is it?
Watched the digital foundry rundown on the collection. It sounds rather ho-hum. I'm not sure the sound delay will bother me with Mario 64 as I've never really played that game. I'm also "blessed" to not notice frame pacing issues.

well Bayonetta 3 has me waiting for the next direct mini

Japan is doomed from the MONHUN double attack
Hopefully not far from now as we are going to see more Partners this year, but Bayonetta 3 im not sure it will appear in one of those, or ever 😳

But not on a Partner so far its been only third party releases and Bayo is first party

In the past, rumors have sprung up regarding a possible The Legend of Zelda show from Netflix. Although nothing has come to fruition thus far, WGTC claims that such a project is indeed happening. The site further adds that “a movie and a TV show are both being discussed and furthermore, Netflix is eyeing Tom Holland to play the lead role of Link.”

We do have to caution, as usual, that nothing is confirmed at this time. WGTC does have a bit of a track record having shared accurate information about other films, though there have been no official announcements.

did Bayo 2 not get a pas- wait that was Wonderful 101 that escaped Nintendo's exclusive grip nevermind

I was still thinking Nintendo might be letting PG and Sega slide off with Bayonetta since the IP has 3 hands in the cookie jar it could be in the partner directs

Dream is they make an action game Direct, it will have Bayonetta 3, Dante on Smash, DMC4SE, Kamiyas new IP, the Ninja Gaiden trilogy and maybe another surprise, like Ninja Gaiden 4 happening

never gonna happen but its nice to dream sometimes 🤭

Nintendo are publishing the game and Bayonetta is a much more valuable IP to Nintendo than Wonderful 101. I can't see them letting Platinum take it anywhere else.

Just done the purple streamer - I’ll be honest while that section is quite clever it never quite hits the same heights as the previous streamer.
