We will see about HZ2, it's cross, but i hope Guerrilla will still go all out for PS5, and then try to make it run on PS4. and not the opposite.

I remember tomb raider underworld, it was on PS360 and PS2, PS2 version was so downgraded hardcore (obviously), a lot of black screen load times that were on PS2 but on not ps360, there were even things that were just cut on PS2 because it was too much for the hardware, i wonder if we'll see things like on HZ2 PS4, unless they'll find a way to downgrade things heavily without removing (i referring mostly to flying or exploring underwater using robot, i mean in case it's planned to be a part of the game)

dude just pull up youtube, go to the trailers individually, they all look glorious :D
My man, if I'm asking specifically for high bitrate versions, maybe it's because I am specifically looking for a high bitrate version, don't you think?

I obviously know they are on YouTube already. If what I'm looking for is not available whatever, but don't point me to the number 1 website for videos on the internet as if I were a clueless geriatric patient, please. :messenger_expressionless:

I should edit this saying I am poking fun at him for thinking he knows the tech behind this stuff

Interesting take sorry if already posted this thread and light speed movement and all.

I will remove the tweet I angered some people.

In "interesting" I mean kind of funny.
I suspect this is damage limitation attempt due to ps5 pre-orders going through the roof.

WTF? Amazon US hasn't opened up orders at all yet....have they? Have PS5 listed now just "unavailable." I didn't get any email notifications that it was available so I'm assuming/hoping they haven't taken orders yet?

I was fear will be more expensive than this.

Also looks like XSS will not use the same textures as XSX as we think before, next gen yeah sure.

How much is the XSS and XSX controller?

I'm very sure they have and it's sold out. Where have you been

I'm sure Guerrilla Games will keep their great optimization for both generation consoles, but the PS4 being the lowest denominator will severely limit the physics processing, asset streaming, so on (game design).
In the case of PS2/PS3, I remember many companies making two separate (and sometimes completely distinct) games for each gen.
I don't believe we will ever go back to that format.

One thing that has me somewhat weary of this new generation going forward is PC releases... PC users will always wait out on Sony's exclusives, and even when they become available, many users will download a cracked version anyway. People will spend their 500 dollars on a new graphics card, not a console that forces them to buy 70 dollar games and pay annually for online services.

Sony must have a strategy, even if we don't see that now. So I'll refrain from making further speculations: a multi-billion dollar conglomerate is sure to have much more information than me, an anon lol

If HFW for PS4 is a separate and distinct game imagine the level of crow that would need to be eaten AGAIN. For me what matters is HFW on PS5 doesn't look held back, if I can't tell, I don't care and neither should anyone else.

Agree on all points man!

I was surprised that HFW is cross-gen tbh... Let's see gameplay! I loved the first game, but naturally expect more from the sequel

They aren't making HZD2 cross-gen for the hell of it, they're doing it to satisfy the 140 million PS4 user base and maximize game sales. There is zero chance they are completely building this game for the PS5 and then downscaling a few things here and there for the PS4. They will both get the same core game but PS5 will have better graphics or performance options. That's it.

Both MS and Sony are going to be making AAA Cross-Gen games for the next year or two, and then they will shift focus to XSS/X and PS5 only if and ONLY if enough of their current user base has shifted to the next gen consoles at that point (which is think is obviously a given).

I was wondering if anyone has been able to find out whether the PS5 is USB Audio Class 2 compliant. When I asked Sony a few weeks ago, they basically told me to wait for the official specs. Well, those specs are out now, and are silent on this issue.

Let me describe what I am talking about: Basically 99% of Digital Audio Converters (DACs) are UAC2 compliant. The PS4 Slim was only UAC1 compliant and did not work with most current DACs except the ancient ones that were UAC1.

Considering the fact that Sony eliminated the Optical port and the fact that most audio DACs do not have HDMI inputs/outputs, it would be fantastic if the PS5 was UAC2 compliant so we can use our own DACs and amplifiers and not rely on HDMI audio extractors to get the signal to our headphone and speaker amps.

This morning i preordered it at Mediamarkt Spain’s webpage. They got both versions. Right now they only have the disc version.

Interesting, the PS5 PSU is rated at 350 W vs the XSX at 315 W. Given that the PS5 is using a variable frequency approach vs XSXs fixed frequency approach, the real power consumption differential should be larger than 35 W. With a fixed frequency approach the PSU has to be designed with the worst case scenario in mind, and won't approach anywhere near that consumption during normal usage. Whereas with a variable frequency approach the system can simply clock down the frequency.
