... but I think this decision is so terrible that they'll end up giving up

I still remember when people made fun of the horse Armor.

This is just strengthen my policy since ps4 luanch always wait for the sale. I have nothing but patient.
This so much. Never gonna buy a game at launch, unless it's a strong GOTG contender.
God it must be Square Soft pushing for this

First $80 for Chrono Trigger
Now $70 for first party games?!
Wait for FFVIIR2 at $70. At best it'll cover the rest of Disc 1 of the OG.

There's something funny here, I preordered Demon's Souls as well and in the local currency I paid the equivalent of 70 euros. Unless they will decide to charge me more later.

Wow another negative bombshell from Sony. Thats what about 2 and a half PS5 games to 1 year GamePass Ultimate where you get all 1st Party games. Sony just isn't offering a enticing price package at all, it is actually one of the worse offerings when compared to the competition.

Well, I guess I just have to wait for actual game sales or preowned games at this point cause there are very few titles I find worth 70 bucks a pop, and none of the launch games fit that bill. Get ready for even more GaaS and microtransactions folks

All of a sudden day 1 games on Game Pass don't sound so terrible huh?
Any good games coming on it before 2023? MS will try to lock people in then jack up the price on that too, question is whether they can attract enough people to it given how Halo looks, and how far away so many first-party games appear to be.

Wtf is with those euro prices tho?
This is pretty insane, and don't tell me that it's because '' gAmEs ArE mOrE eXpEnSiVe To MaKe ''...
They make hundreds upon hundreds of millions, video games are highly profitable, this is just pure greed.

Also, watch the games get shorter and shorter too and get less and less replay-value.
Enjoy.

So glad I mainly play on PC.
I have over 1k hours in TW:Warhammer 2 alone.

Price increase without an increase in actual value of the products you're selling.

Watch the value decrease.
I am calling it now, shorter games with less and less replay-value.

But people will be all like '' LOOK A TEH GGRAPHICS ERMAGHURD HYPE ! ''.

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.

The graphics aren't even that good..

This is the first gen in a long time that I am just going to skip and go pc only. I literally have zero hype for these boxes especially at these increased prices.

So uh, at what point in time is it acceptable for video games to go up in price? When half of us are dead and the other half too old to cum anymore?

Ya'll realize you can just buy games after they've gone on sale like a few months after release, right?

Yeah, game sales/price drops will still happen and video games are like books at this point, there's countless great ones. Aside from Nintendo, can't remember the last time I paid full price for a game on either PS4/Xbone.

Gamers can't keep getting everything for free or for peanuts. They balk at a $600 PS even if Sony is putting everything cutting edge in there, then they want their games to remain at $60 forever, even if game costs a fortune now and many studios have now shuttered if they can't recoup. The Covid situation has made development much more tasking, just ask 343i.....At least Sony studios is still putting out quality looking next gen games with the mounting costs of games and with development during a pandemic....

I think the price is fair, especially that they gave gamers a huge break on the hardware....

I love how ppl say they wont pay $69.99 for a game like they have no value. That might be the cost for 1 phone bill. I dont want to pay more, but $70 for a game that you will get hours of entertainment, possibly hundreds of hours isn't actually a bad deal. I paid $98 for Madden 21 because I know I will play hundreds of hours during the year.

If they want ppl to go digital though, they need to undercut physical disc prices by a good margin. You wont ever be able to resell a game you shelled out money for.

I'll probably grab Demon's Souls and COD (ugh) for full price and then play the waiting game. These $70 games will be $40 in no time, or I'll just wait a little longer.

70 dollars American.... and 80 fucking Euro?!!!

Even if we paid 70 Euro per game we would be paying more than Americans but no gotta put an extra little kick in their to gouge their big market!
