As someone who just wanted more Crash from Crash 4; Cortex and Tawna are kinda bumming me out.

Went from instant buy to waiting on impressions. I trust Toys For Bob after the work they did on Spyro, but this is giving me pause.

I'm not sure about the cutscenes/writing, but the gameplay is looking good. I'm a bit worried thats its a 50 hour game when I really want a tighter more focused experience right now, had to take a break from GoT because even though its great in so many ways, I play it super slowly (like how I played BotW) so I got kinda burnt out on it after finishing the whole first area and a decent amount of the 2nd area.

It's kinda weird looking, she has semi realistic proportions compared to the Crash and Coco very cartoony proportions
Indeed, and don't match with the plataform section dedicated for small chars like Crash and Coco. Sounds really bad on the gameplay for me.

Is like putting a real size adult version on those plataform games for mario/crash/sonic size.

She's Tumblr/ Twitterfied lol.

Edit: I don't hate her design or anything I am just joking.
But her design just reeks of what young edgy teenage girls and women who never grew up and listen to my chemical romance think is cool.

Shaving one side of your hair, coloring it and wearing a leather jacket doesn't make you '' badass '' lol.

I prefer my platformer protagonists silly and fun instead of having any level of badassery. But I like her gameplay, seems solid.

I think that Coco is a bit weird too in contrast to Crash.
Crash comes across more like a cartoony animal, Coco and Tawna don't.

I am reading them talk about her here: https://blog.playstation.com/2020/0...evealed-for-crash-bandicoot-4-its-about-time/ , and it honestly almost reads to me like she belongs in a different game than Crash.
She just kinda sounds like the most generic '' stronk female character '' imaginable which doesn't really line up with Crash at all.
A more original take on a female hero would be to make her as weird, crazy an unhinged as Crash but instead she just turned out so generic imo.

Not a big fan of the Crash games and her redesign, but she'll probably have a classic alternative bimbo outfit.
Know what's about time? Crash Team Racing on PC.

I'm excited for Crash 4, but also very cautious.

Toys for Bob did a lot of good in Spyro trilogy, but I also think that some of the minigames/side activities were too dated to be remade 1:1, it needed a more modern approach.

Here's hoping that these side characters are a good addition instead of an annoying one.

Didn't know who Tawna was so I had to look it up. She's totally unrecognizable to me, but now that I know who she is, that's a cool character to have in the game.

Yeah helps me make up my mind: the design of this Crash 4 is disgusting, no wonder it's Activision and not Jason Rubin/Andy Gavin who gave them their blessing.

This team doesn't know shit about Crash Bandicoot except for the few mediocre mobile games they made, Crash Bandicoot design is amazing and a very specific blend of late 80s/early 90s trash cartoons, 90s retro tiki/coffeehouse design and classic 90s neon 3D lights.

Instead we got this awfully disgusting, tasteless and uninspired mix of post-apocalyptic pastel, black&white socks punk crap that has been bothering me in Rage 2, Farcry 5.2 etc...urk.

when you try to do a woke redisign but the woke community is mad:

just don't overchange something that is fine if they are never happy.

Fucking Christ, they went woke with Crash Bandicoot. How fucking low are these assholes going to go? Do they have to ruin everything they touch? Seriously - this isn't Tawna. She's like a LGBTABCEFG+ personified knockoff. No fucking thanks. This game has gone from insta-buy to straight wait for steep sale for me.

Good grief some of you are nuts, the original Tawna is still in the game! This playable version is just from a different universe where she was the hero instead of Crash. The fact that some of you are screaming about this being "woke" and now not buying the game just shows how easily offended some of you get. Or you were never going to buy it anyway (not seen many of you in previous Crash threads) and just want something to bitch about.
