Make Halo Infinite release on the 20th Anniversary of the first game (Nov 2021). Release the story mode for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Multiplayer on Xbox Series X only if you are doing the ten year plan for multiplayer like Destiny, don't tie the future to a console in 2013.

They need to release it when it is finished. Folks keep saying that the development was kinda crazy for this halo so it needing to be worked on until 2022 wouldn't surprise me. Gamepass seems to be Microsofts' big thing instead of selling consoles so pushing back halo for as long as is needed should be what they should do.

Because the sony strikeforce like to use it as anti xbox propaganda. Come one, we all know how this works by now! Personally i agree with you. Gameplay looked great. Graphics and HUd need work imo.
I'm sorry to legit disagree with you but the gameplay itself was boring, too.
Just a bunch of small skirmishes in a semi-open environment with very primitive design, enemy reactions to being hit or dying are subpar, grappling hook feels very cheap as if it has no proper physics.
This is not enough.

That’s halo in a nutshell though and personally how I prefer it, 343i tried mixing things up with halo 5 by making the battles more frequent and more linear and I fucking hated it.

plus we all know if you really want to delve into the gameplay, that’s what multiplayer is for, the campaign is more for the lore buffs and people who like sandbox gameplay.

I believe early Summer 2021. A few months won't help too much I suppose, but 12 months for a game that last month was supposed to be few months away from gold would be very surprising. I don't think they missmanaged the project so bad they had to push a one year delay when they were close to the release planned. It would be a disaster from a project pipeline point of view.

They should declare cease fire with Sony and release both consoles in spring like the Switch did. Clearly neither Microsoft or Sony are ready.

I don't think they can. third party publishers already made plans accordingly they would be pissed

Third parties don't have any next gen exclusives yet. It's all last gen games with updates for next gen. By the way there's no release dates so even retailers shouldn't be triggered.

Honestly. Late 2022.

halo looked like it needed a ground up rebuild. I assume the pc it was running on was pretty high spec and it looked like that!!! ????

it looked flat, the environment was not good, there was pop in and the character models were at best below average.

It was close to nope, try again.

well that's fucking not true at all, there are next gen only games by third party publishers, Scorn, Medium and Ascent for example

Wow really. You guys think it is delayed by an entire 1 YEAR ?

I thought they were always on a go ahead for launch Halo 5 in that sorry state and only push backed after fan backslash. An year delay to make it perfect seems very non-MS'y.

Marketing as well as dev reasons. It makes a good holiday game.

Those are Xbox timed exclusives. Microsoft will just give them another check. Ascent is on Xbox One btw.

I don’t get the sentiment that there is something “fundamentally wrong” with the game. Like at all. Looked way better than 4 and 5 gameplay wise - I don’t think it will be pushed too far out unless they decide to completely remake the game for some reason.
All you people saying the gameplay looked good, where are you getting this from? I'm not saying it looked bad but we saw nowhere near enough to determine anything, especially considering 343 has never made a Halo game with great gameplay. The only things I saw for certain is that they didn't address the low ammo complains from their previous games, guns still run out of ammo twice as fast a Bungie's games and there was a few questionable moves by the AI like a brute kicking a grunt in the opposite direction of you and an elite combat rolling right into you. Seriously where are these gameplay praises coming from?

I don’t understand why people think it’s getting A YEAR delay.
What games in recent memory have done that?

I feel if they wanted to get it out in early 21 they would have said something about it coming out in early 2021 instead of just the year. They are probably expecting a year

Looked like fun to me man dunno what to tell you, open levels and halo formula with the grappling hook and shield and shit - looked like fun. Especially for multiplayer and co op.

BTW if you want a completely different game than what was shown then - maybe just get a completely different game? Or allow them to release this one and work on a sequel or something if you want a ground up overhaul.

I think 2022 and an XSX/XSS exclusive is a real possibility.

From what they’ve shown, it got a real real long way to go some I’m not sure a 6-9 month delay is sufficient

I never said I wanted a different game, I want a Halo game with good gameplay. Anyone that has played Halo 4/5 and Bungie's games knows the glaring gameplay problems with 343's games, some of those problems already showing up again in that short controlled gameplay demonstration like I said. I guess if your a casual fan you just see Halo with open levels.

I mean I’ve been playing halo since the first came out. It’s one of my favorite games. Played 4 which was a noticeable step down but I was still fine with it. 5 was atrociously bad. This looked like something I could definitely deal with and much better than 4 and 5 - don’t mind sprint, don’t mind certain changes I’m not a purist if that’s what you mean the main reason I disliked 4 and what I played of 5 was no split screen in 5 and that it basically turned into very tight levels that were boring.

why not just release the game and make a sequel then at that point?

SeX is about 9x more powerful than base Xbox One on a pure TF basis. And that doesn't even include whatever RDNA efficiencies there are when people say an RDNA flop is better than a GCN flop.

If native 4k over a base game at 1080p is 4x the power needed, there should still be plenty of power left if both games are 60 fps.

Who knows where the extra juice is going.

5 actually had very open battlegrounds. The main problem with 5 is when you play it on legendary there is only one viable playstyle, grab a long range weapon and hide behind cover. They de-emphasized run and gunning in Halo. They threw one hundred enemies on the screen at once to accommodate their dumb squad based system giving zero care to how a Halo game is supposed to play and because of this it has the second worst legendary gameplay in the series next to Halo 2. There's a lot of other problems with Halo 5's gameplay but this is the big one.

This is what I mean when I say we can tell very little about the gameplay from that 7 minute demonstration, no one would have known Halo 5 was gonna have shit gameplay on legendary from the trailers and gameplay shown before the game came out. With Halo you never know if the gameplay is gonna be good or not until the game is out.

It really depends on how bad Microsoft thinks it is. I think we can all agree that the game needs to be in acceptable conditions when it releases. If it takes them a while year or more to do that then that's fine as long as its good.

The problem with Halo Infinite are fundamental design decisions.
There aiming the Xbox one S to run at 1080p/60fps.
In my opinion there only option is to have Halo run at 900p/30fps on the Xbox one S, which would give them the headroom to increase fidelity of the game. Thus when you get the XSX version it can run at 4k/60fps. Forget 4k/120fps thats a waste of resources, increase the fidelity of the game.

Native 4k and high framerate is a waste of resources because 4k is so intensive and stupid with modern recreation techniques. That said, if a 2080 can already play a game like Destiny 2 near maxed out at 1800p 120fps+, the Series X should already be able to play the less impressive looking Infinite at the same. I mean, the game is kinda more open world, I guess. But D2's worlds are pretty big and that game is several years old at this point. For a shooter, 4k60 is fine for non-competitive stuff, but I'd still prefer a slightly lower resolution and a big boost to fps (considering it's not really a 'story' game and no one is playing it for that).

After all, what was the point of upgrading to CPUs to nearly match the 3700x if you're not going to push the framerate in the genre that benefits the most from it?

The lack of split screen and halo 5 just didn’t feel very open or sandbox - at least from what I played and I enjoy playing less as a squad like you mentioned. All of that seems addressed in the gameplay they posted

I thought Halo is defined by being a fun sandbox and therefore it has enough room to include massive all-out next-gen warfare.

The fans want classic gameplay. Trust me. It was enough.

If those recent reports are even half correct I'm going to say next Fall. Doesn't sound great. I'd rather they fix what they can. I'll just put it out of my mind until it's ready.

Nothing will ever be as disappointing as Bungie's departure from Halo so just do your best 343.

Tomorrow. Big brain move. Say it’s delayed and then shadow drop the XSX and halo tomorrow... Boom.. catch Sony off guard and fix the game with patches 😂😂

Q2 2022 and releases as a graphical powerhouse taking advantage of the full power of the XsX. XsS can play it at 1080p 60fps.

Follow Sony's early gen playbook:
Make some 3rd party deals while your 1st party does their thing.

I think Halo will launch in November 2021.

MS and 343 need to give it the due time and make it kick ass. They need to beef up the graphics, etc. There will obviously be a side by side comparison to the graphics from what we've seen to what they're gonna launch with. Make it sparkle, bitches!!!

Also, this will give them the time to release all the content at once campaign , mp, etc.

Issue with the first part of your point is for them to do big deals with high profile third partys. Those games have to be in gamepass.

That costs way more, and knowing their market penetration they are not in position to get a good deal. This was already talked about.

Third party are going with mostly Sony. Because their console doesn't revolve around a service.
