I don’t know. I think it looks pretty decent, and at least they showed a chunk of gameplay. But no Batman is lame. At least the replacements are neat characters, but I’m not sure how much I’ll enjoy playing with them.

Eeeeeeeh. Not impressed by what I saw. Do not want a GaaS game. Was hoping for another tight single-player, story-focused experience with the normal trappings of a batman game - fluid combat, stealth, light detective work, etc. Edit: Didn't notice, but this isn't by Rocksteady, is it? In that case, then whatever. WB can do what they want with their property, I suppose.

"Batman dead" storyline was done twice in comics, both explored the theme of successor, Bruce Wayne came back of course. I would be surprised if Azreal, Batwoman and Damien aren't extra characters.

I'd rather have a single-player focused story based on the Batfamily. This doesn't seem too narratively driven.

As far as no Batman, that may end up being more of a hindrance. I know a lot of folks who'll dismiss it without the Caped Crusader himself.

Conversely, it can present as a positive since he's so powerful of a character despite his mortality.


You know what I would've wanted? Batman Beyond. Would've been MAJOR potential there.

Its not. No evidence of the rythm style counters so far. And enemies have levels ALA AC odyseey, division etc. Major red flag.

Not sure about the level/stats crap. Does every game have to have that now? Like Avengers and this?

I hope it's fun, they need to find a way to make the combat feel fresh again. To me it needs to feel more freeform, technical, and less reliant on the auto counter/rthythm deal.

Also the characters need to feel very different not like reskins with all the same hook traversal stuff and just different combat animations. They kinda chose a boring bunch of heroes. Robin and Batgirl look nice enough.

If you want 60fps you need to go PC. I gave up and done it lol.

The Division 2 has evolved into a model for what folks call a GaaS game. They have really improved it over time and they've not hindered it with microtransactions(they are there, but nothing to affect the main game itself).

Yeah, you can buy a Season Pass, but I don't and I haven't felt I've missed out.

They could learn much from their model as well as their mistakes. It could end up being good, but we shall see.

General consensus I've seen from friends, websites and social media is a resounding "Eh, wish it had Batman." or fears it'll be a moneygrubber.
