1. Bloodborne
2. Persona 5
3. God of War

Bloodborne is game of the gen. Persona 5 was one of the biggest and most pleasant surprises I've had this gen, and its converted me to a fan of the series. God of War aping Dark Souls was the best thing the franchise could have done, and the story was fantastic. These are my personal 3.
Agreed. Bloodborne is the game of the generation on PS4. It's been a long, long time since I played a game that frustrated me so much in the early going. I didn't understand what it was saying to me. I've watched people play souls type games before, but never truly experienced one myself. How it presented itself was so different than anything I had ever played. Almost reminded me of playing some sort of old school Nintendo/Sega/PC game that would leave lots of room for interpretation. The breakthrough came for me once I understood something. This game spoke a language entirely of its own. It made no apologies. You will memorize every inch of this world and approach with caution. Mysterious, yet left enough of a bread crumb trail for you follow. Rare I play something that refuses to hold your hand and respected your intelligence.

This may sound stupid, but it comes off a "gamers game." A big AAA title that is stripped of typical AAA pretension. That's why it's number one.

God of War
Horizon
UC4

didn't care for any other games in this list, spiderman was very fun but I got bored towards the end.

Edit: Days Gone was awesome as well and probably prefer it over UC4, forgot about it.

Jesus Fucking Christ this list is insane I literally can't even begin to start considering one over another.
All great games but I'm gonna give a shout out to The Last of Us Part II because the game is so impressive and bold it's hard to believe it could be achieved on a PS4.

As a PC only gamer. Bloodborne is the only ps4 game I would REALLY like to play. Hopefully it gets ported to PC this year or the next otherwise I would have to get a ps 5 sometime

Order IMO is better than many games on this list and FF7 should be on here.

God of War is GOAT PS exclusive. Second overall this gen only to Witcher 3.

1) Ghost of Tsushima - The best open world game I've played on this generation. Much as I love The Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2, Ghost has them beat with it's superior gameplay mechanics and presentation.

2) Persona 5 - Still have the play The Royale edition, but the base edition is already one of my all time favorite RPGs.

3) Marvel's Spider-Man - Well, it took Insomniac to finally develop a Spider-Man game equal to Rocksteady's Batman Arkham series. Great game and probably my 2nd favorite piece of Spidey media after Into the Spider-Verse.

Also, The Last of Us 2 sucks ass and shouldn't be considered in the running for best PS4 exclusive.

Persona 5, Street Fighter 5, Detroit and Horizon aren’t exclusives.

Ratchet and Clank, Tearaway, Last of Us Remastered and shadow of the colossus are remasters or remakes of games in other systems.

Too hard to pick a top 3.

I went with God of war, Spiderman and horizon.

Haven't played tsutshima yet but it's absolutely criminal me leaving out lost legacy and TLOU2. I need a top 5!

  • Horizon Zero Dawn
But it's basically the only titles from this list I have played so far (+ Shadow of the Colossus and Last of Us 1).
Will play some others (Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima and maybe God of War) in the coming months/years. But I can say for sure Bloodborne will stay at the top

Bloodborne
God of War
Uncharted Lost Legacy

Bloodborne is just this festering black hole of filth and spite that is the most satisfying thing in the world to crawl through and conquer.

God of War took a stale, increasingly dull action series and reinvented it as a thoughtful, deep and complicated tale of loss, responsibility and family, that forced a vengeful, selfish man to reinvent himself to prevent his son falling to the same dark path he had. Combined with an incredibly deep combat system, perfect atmosphere, complicated and charismatic characters and incredibly intelligent use of Norse mythology, and it's just spectacular.

Lost Legacy is simply the apex of the Uncharted series. Combining all the fun, high adventure and excitement the series is known for, with the perfected mechanics of 4, but in a much more concise and focused package. The pacing is perfect, the challenge is spot on, it's full of the spectacle and intrigue the series does so well, while maintaing the fun and excitement 4 so often managed to lose track of. Plus Chloe is awesome. It's the best Tomb Raider since Anniversary.

Weakest Sony gen by far.

I don't feel good picking anything beyond GT Sport and Drive Club, which isn't even on the list.

Interesting. I thought this generation was extremely strong.

I loved GT Sport and I am impressed by the free updates they have been putting out. Would've loved to play GT Sport in a proper racing setup since I am a big racing fan. The controls in this game feel absolutely fantastic.

If I quit God of War after the first boss (because I hated it), should I go back and try to get into it again? A lot of people like that game here.

Also, hoping Sony does way better in terms of variety next gen. They've really earned the "single player cinematic games" company reputation this gen.
