It really is embarrassing to see isn't it? To see so many being two faced about what they would be so quick to mock the "other team" for doing if it where the other way around.

This is how this crap is perpetuated when the shoe is on the other foot. When we celebrate childish crap like this, fully embracing the fanboy/console war.

It's good to see a few actually have the moral fiber to see through how the corporations are trying to manipulate them. Because they will all try to do this.

I REALLY doubt that..
He has been warned in the past for console warring for... wait for it.... Sony.

Believe it or not, you don't need to be an xbox fan to not like these dumb practices.

Sony has embraced the drama and outrage surrounding exclusivity of in-game items, characters and other perks by releasing an exclusive trailer detailing Playstation's Advantage™ .

The thing that bugs me about this is if Microsoft played this exclusive game like Sony they would have no chance because Microsoft has more money to burn than Sonys entire worth as a company.

Also, there would NEVER be a thread started here that praised Xbox for third party exclusivity like this. If there was it would be overrun by Sony fans who would rightfully crap all over it.

I know this site is extremely pro Sony but it would be nice to have more of a balance. I say that as someone who enjoys Sony and what they produce, but we need to be able to criticize when necessary. The title of this thread leaves little room for actual discussion. It is clear what you are looking for.

I was on 360 back in the day and they had exclusives for everything..... GTA4 had 2 DLC's for a year, COD every year had times exclusives and Skyrim and many other games....

Xbox still do it, they started out the generation by making Titanfall exclusive, then Tomb Raider... it's just a part of the industry. It's not personal.

I think the best way for that to happen is if Microsoft grows their fanbase. The mods could balance this site out more by just banning PlayStation but I don't think that's the right way to do it.

I understand why it is the way it is, but at this point the lean toward Sony will hurt gaming overall. When we praise these terrible moves just because it is "our team" making them, we are losing sight of which team we are really on. In real life the "war" is gamers vs console makers. Big corporations will always prioritize themselves. We should do the same as a community

Well it's not like people will boycott Sony because they provide them with the products that they want to consume.

All we can ask is for Microsoft to do a better job competing with them.

I've never been against this practice. If you want the DLC bad enough, buy the console its on. Otherwise, stop whining. And yes, the whine fest launched against MS for getting Tomb Raider exclusivity was hypocritical of many Sony fans. All of this is true. But so is the fact that MS messed up their own messaging for the Xbox One, went back on that messaging, and ended up driving people in N. America back towards Sony.

MS is in the unenviable position of bringing many revolutionary changes to gaming but being the company that people don't want these changes from.

I understand your point but i feel the highlighted above is ineffective. This seems counterproductive to the industry as well as the exclusivity deal. Without a console maker (Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo/Sega/Atari/PC..etc..) you don't have games. The platform holder in this case is also (in general) a developer/publisher/IP owner and most importantly a Business which makes a product for consumption and profit. They are going to make deals according to what they see can increase their RoR. Some make smarter business choices than others..cough...Ouya...cough.. but ultimately the market gets to decide.
The community side of this seems like its Thousands of voices that all sound like a garbled mess because while some agree... some don't.. some don't care and some are willing to die on that sword "ta Hell with everyone else!!!".. Through all of that the Business is betting on enough folks to cash back in on a product to bring them more money so their business can continue.

I hope i'm not coming across as argumentative because i'm not trying to be...I love my hobby because that's what it is.. (wish i got money like Ninja or Lirik or the other guys for doing it though) but i also understand that business is business

Edit:
also of note ,Sony Bend is going to still be making The Show but now it will be multi-platform right?
i'd be willing to bet it still has PS exclusive stuff..I know its a Sony owned studio but still... some of the same arguments apply

People getting excited for Spiderman but its not gonna be same quality as Insomniac one. It will be added in for quick bucks and marketing.

I would have preferred Spiderman as part of main story

The playing field is not level. If Microsoft did a better job competing with Sony as you say, they wouldn't get a "job well done," it would be seen as negative and gamers would hate that they are buying exclusive content and games.

I still remember how everyone lost their minds when Xbox made Tomb Raider a timed exclusive. They paid a huge price for that decision with the bad PR that came with it. I think that helped move them away from making similat deals. The gaming community desperately needs to do the same with Sony. It will only get worse.
