Dualsense Battery is Double the Dualshock4 Battery

From the FCC filing it seems dualsense battery is 1560 mah vs 800mah of dualshock 4

Sounds great hopefully it gives additional 5 hours for 13 hours battery

Yep they confirmed better battery life for the controllers a while back too. Sounds awesome!

I'm perfectly fine with this.
My newer DS4 (the one that came with my Pro) has acceptable Battery life. I've never actually timed it but I usually only have to charge it like once a week

EDIT:
That only seems to say the battery is bigger though. I guess it will depend on how much energy the whole haptic feedback stuff uses.

There are so many here with the exact same tag as me, yet I don't see ONE person with the reverse. Yet, here you are in every positive PlayStation thread.

I'm expecting the same other culprits to come along, all the while claiming this is still "SonyGAF".
Report him and ignore

Double of nothing isn't much.

Indeed. Compared to the 4310mAh of the Switch Pro controller it really isn't much. I wish they'd finally put a decent battery.. with the trackpad, adaptive triggers etc, the battery won't last long.

Well, then have a look at the ban list from time to time. You say PS5 has 3*3 TF? You get banned. You Say SonyG*F? A funny tag is better i guess.
Imaginary things destroy conversation like ps5 is 9tf . Its made up narrative by few who work for ms like Brad sams and Windows central. Ask anyone saying it if they have any backup and they refer u to a test of ps5 version on rdna1 from 2019 which doesn't mean anything for final soc of ps5. In the same test xsx clock was 1.6 ghz vs the final 1.85 ghz of now. (ps5 was 2ghz vs final 2.25 ghz of now )

Anyways stick to the ot please

Um playstation fans get banned as well. And ive seen Xbox fans get tags instead of being banned.

Anyways I don't think this is the right place to discuss this. Either you two go to the ban justice thread or the meta.

Yep that they do. And even people get banned for making stuff up like how the Xbox brute forces everything.

Lies tend to derail topics which is why they are not allowed here.

Also the mods give people chances to prove themselves and so far nobody has done that yet.

Uuugh, turns out the battery is only 1300mAh.. 4300 is the battery of the Switch. So it's not that bad actually.

PS: Really wish we could edit our post, it's ridiculous to not allow it. Can't fix any typo or w/e.

I didn't want to discuss that (TF nonsense) at all, just saying it's not the evil mods only punishing PS fans. That goes both sides.

You can once you become a member and I think you only have 15 minutes to edit a post if your a Neo Member.

11-12 hours would be really good. Then you can just charge it up, I would hope nobody plays any game for 11-12 hours in a row. I would also hope that nobody still buys AA batteries for their controller in 2020

That's really not that great... my Dualshock 4 lasts like 3 hours at most, and with the Dualsense's crazy new HD rumble, tension triggers and rumble triggers, I worry that battery life will be about as bad as the DS4 in less than a couple of years

Doesn't this depend on consumption? I assume the added features consume more battery so you can't just convert the mah into a difference in time.

Dualshock4 battery life was pretty bad. I guestimate 5 hours maybe. I member playing Horizon zero dawn a couple of hours on a Saturday and the controller giving out while playing nextday. Not even a weekend of 2 or 3 hours per day.

I think that Sony did say the battery life would be better but how much better is the real question.

This says 10-12 hours, since of course capacity isn't directly battery life, it's doing more than before. But I'd be very good with that, I've personally never had an issue with DS4 battery life already so this just adds longevity. I think the split lightbar generation was better than the OG though, plus you're all turning the light down to minimum, right?

So 8–10 hours instead of 4-5, so enough to last a full day’s worth of playing for my days off. But not much else.

I always rotated controllers, so battery life was never an issue for me, but this is good news for those who thought the PS4 controller had a short battery life.

That's awesome; I'm sure it's heavier but I like that too.

Curious how efficient the new features are; do haptics "replace" rumble? Theoretically they don't necessarily take up more battery.

Only ran into issues having to charge my DS4 while playing a handful of times (I do put it away in its charger after each session, granted). My Wii U Pro and Switch Pro, on the other hand, will likely keep operating well into the next ice age.

I thought with haptics there's more motors in the controller than before. With the Dualshock there was just two spinning weights. One heavy and the other one lighter.
