One of my game vouchers was about to expire so now have this sat in my home screen.

Wii U game was brain numbingly easy and I dropped it quite quick, but this has additional difficulty modes plus co-op so I'm excited to try it out again.

Rock pikmin are adorable

The game is absolutely phenomenal and would be a must buy if it was decently priced. 60 bucks is retarded for a 2013 game.

Agreed. Should have been 40 at most. However, most of the complaints I am seeing are less about the absurd price and more for the fact that the game is getting ported in the first place.

Why do you think Nintendo delisted the game when there can't be that many Wii U owners who haven't played it yet? I 'm salty about that for sure.

To be quite frank, I didn't even know Wii U's eshop was still open. Thought Nintendo closed that a while back. Though I don't really think that is much of an issue as you can get the superior, physical release for cheap still.

It's a scummy thing to do. Nintendo wants to force as many people as they can into buying it for $60. They see the Wii U install base as a threat to that. Not sure why anyone would be ok with that.

Based on how things have been going with Nintendo, I’m guessing that is our announcement until mid October.

With they didn’t release all of their slower paced games in the span of a year.

Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Paper Mario, and Pikmin.

Is Pikmin 3 any good? I love the first one, but missed this.
I thought it seemed very, very enjoyable but each level has a time limit that ruined the whole game for me at least. Very stressful, and you can't take your time and enjoy the game really.

Nothing stopping you from buying a Wii U to play Wii U games, just like there ain't anything stopping you from buying a PS3 to play PS3 games.
No one wants a trash ass Wii U, not back then and not now. The only thing that was great about it were Nintendo games and even those underperformed. How foolish is it to expect people to buy a Wii U in 2020 because they want to catch up to about two handful of games they have missed!? Thats not convenient at all. The games perform muuuuch better on Switch too because there is a muuuuuch bigger audience, so it absolutely makes sense to rerelease from a business standpoint. A PS3 will give you entertainment for years. A Wii U won't do that unless you mod it.
I mean sure, you can criticize Nintendo for their pricing on those ports, but this sentiment that they shouldnt port at all is silly.

Wow, this is a great incentive to double dip, and everything i had hoped from a Pikmin 3 re-release! I will certainly double dip...always dreamed of true pikmin multiplayer goodness. For the love of god though, i hope bonehead Nintendo doesn''t make the co-op mode COUCH-only. There are many of us without reliable gaming friends.

My favorite Pikmin (2 was great and all but too many caves) and a gorgeous title back in the day. I got that freakin' thing for FREE when MK8 came out ! Nintendo was so desperate to sell us Wii Us but my wallet thanked them for that ^^

Of course because of that, I'm not going to double-dip but I'm glad more people will enjoy this game. I hope touch controls are supported on handheld mode. This game's played great on the Gamepad.

I know I complained as a wii u owner earlier but I don't care about it being ported, that's great, it's a great lil game. I have issue with wii u titles being most of what Nintendo puts out, go months for a crappie direct and is a port of last gen game at full price. We should have freaking Mario kart 9 and other titles. Switch was suppose to increase output but it hasn't unless you want to count all the crap they rerelease

Nintendo isn't giving Monolith the money or time for it.Tetsuya was in an interview for XBC2 when he said the team wants to do an XBX delux
I know but a man can hope and I still believe it's not as expensive as they make it out to be since tho XCX is the base for XC2.

I don't see it as much of an issue. The Wii U's install base is tiny and the platform is dead. If you *really* wanted to play Pikmin 3, you still can by getting the physical release for cheap.

Not to mention Nintendo isn't forcing people here. The game is still being sold for cheap on the dead platform and you can still pick it up if you wanted to play it there. But the tiny amount of people who have a Wii U and don't have Pikmin 3 aren't really going to put a dent into Pikmin 3 deluxes' release.

I already answered this, why did you avoid the question?

I haven't. I answered it previously. Seems like you just want a reason to get pissy at Nintendo over a non-issue. Again, the game is still available to buy for cheap. No one is forced to buy on Switch just as no one is stopped from buying for Wii U. Despite what you claimed.

You haven't answered why the Wii U can both be owned by very few who don't already have Pikmin 3 and also be a big enough threat to Nintendo that they would delist the game on the Wii U so people can't buy it from Nintendo directly. NIntendo doesn't control and doesn't get credit for the existence of the used market. Not sure why you keep bringing that up.

Big difference though, one console that was dead from launch, the other a massive selling console that just keeps gaining momentum, and let's be honest here, the Wii U version only sold around 1.2 million copies, so lot's of potential new owners for this then.

Yes, 2/3 more expensive is indeed a big difference for the consumer. You don't much care about that side of things though do you?

You are the one who is constantly making the claim that it is a "Threat" to Nintendo. Provide evidence that is why they delisted it. Also PIkmin 3 can still be bought brand new in stores for 20 bucks.

Maybe take a step back and realize not everything is a conspiracy theory.

Why do you think they delisted it then? Also, I seriously doubt that you can find it new anymore, it is certainly out of print.

What you are saying makes little sense, the game is not being released for a dead console, so it's priced as a new game for a popular console, if Nintendo released this again for the Wii U at full price, I would be complaining with you.

I’ll grab this even though I played through it on Wii U. I’ll miss the second screen experience though.

Hilarious to me how many people at another forum are bitching about this. Oh no, they removed the $20 version for the old console that you never bought?! Now what?!

They must have had a reason to remove it though, what do you think that reason was?

Because they want to make sure people buy the more expensive version. Which is a shitty thing to do, but the consumers do have a say in this. They can always not buy it.

I think this is a missed opportunity to be a Pikmin collection. Will buy this again - because I'm a sucker. But really wish it was 1-3. 2 is my personal favorite.

It's a really great game. I liked it so much that I did a 3D diorama based on the game back in the day, lol

The controls were a god damned fucking nightmare, I remember having to lay the tablet controller on something, and switch between it and the Wiimote+chuck constantly. I don't remember why that was the way it was, but I remember all the SUPER HIGH reviews recommending that bullshit.

This is such shitty news, they'll sell this for full price too, despite it being VERY OLD.

We deserve Pikmin 4 by now Nintendo, I just fucking give up, my Switch is packed away gathering dust, this fixes nothing.
Why did you need to switch?, i always played with the gamepad i never had to switch to a wiimote in this game or any Wii u game.

Hmmmmmm. Do I get this or not? I had it on Wii U but only played for a couple of hours.

I liked it but my attention span for some games is just bad.

Any differences with the visuals? Resolution, details, framerate?

It's been 7 years, but this is what I remember from the gamespot review, and it's accurate, gives me slight PTSD reading it again.

It's a great system as long as you're using the GamePad. However, even though the map is incredibly handy, you do have to put up with annoying control issues. You can lock on to enemies and objects to quickly throw pikmin where you need them to be, but it's clunky on the GamePad. It's easy to overshoot your target, especially if it's hovering in the sky, which is frustrating during heated battles. The Wii Remote with nunchuk is a much better option if aiming is getting you down. Pointing at enemies is so easy, you never have to worry that you're going to inadvertently throw your pikmin in the wrong place. However, you won't have the map in your hands. Neither method is ideal, so you just have to decide which problem you can live with.

Using the gamepad you compromised your aiming, using the Wiimote/nunchuck you compromised your intel by having no map but had excellent aim. It was a cluster fuck nightmare. Still got high scores, despite all reviews talking about the issue because... NINTENDO!

Amazon still has it new. As does my local Walmart, Target, Shopko, and Kmart and I know that my town isn't the only one to still have them new. Hell, on Amazon you can still buy the digital code for Pikmin 3 and it still works.

As to why they delisted it? Any number of reasons such as to prevent confusion when searching online, their website store, etc. You can still buy the game, mate - so I will once again reiterate what I said prior: you are just trying to find a reason to be pissy with Nintendo. There isn't some grand conspiracy here.

Give us that Triforce Collection with Skyward Sword, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, Nintendo. I mean, since you love ports.
