So is the PSVR dead ? Sony has said that PSVR will work on PS5 but it requires a DS4. It has also stated that the DS4 will not work with PS5 games. So This means that either there will be no PS5 only games which can ever use the duel sense . so that headset is locked to the DS4 forever or sony is going to force a purchase of some future accessory. ( clip on light bar ? )

PSVR will work on PS5 with DS4. But exclusive VR games for PS5 will be for PSVR2 (I assume) and it’s new VR controllers “VirtualSense”.

I know it's an unpopular opinion with this crowd but I think being the absolute dominant market leader (at least compared to Xbox) is more than enough to keep Playstation healthy and they really don't need any more growth. As it stands they are stomping all over their competition game production wise. I really think Xbox is in danger of losing the support of Microsoft and I don't think that's a good thing for Playstation fans. It's competition from MS that brought us the 2020 version of Playstation in the first place.

Believe me, it's gonna be even better without Xbox. Short-sighted people look at Sony's investment on big titles is just out of competition. It's not, those games pay back pretty quickly, sometimes within 1-3 days. Going by GOT, it sold 2.4 million copies in 3 days, and that's a combination of $60-200 versions. But let's keep it as $60, so that's $144 million USD, which is insane!

I don't mean that we will get a huge discount at retail..... but the tech they buy from the likes of AMD and others could be of higher quality or higher budget due to the discounts available for the quantities they are buying.

I'm sure the retail cost will continue to be 400 to 500 dollars / euro no matter.

Hardware will never be the big moneymaker, the games and services inside a 'walled garden' are.

Ironically the devs that could produce games on Cell are the best in the industry & now are the PS studios. Cell literally weeded out who were the super programmers. Crazy in that chaos Sony still found wins. Is that luck or what!!
