What exactly is wrong with having female only leagues in the fgc and esports? I mean women's tennis is incredibly popular despite the huge disparity in talent compared to the men. I think it would bring more female talent to esports, as of now a lot of females don't participate on a competitive level because they know they'll just get BTFO and embarrassed trying to compete on a level playing field with men.

I've played and followed Counter Strike for 20 years. They do this same shit there. There is always some argument about "why are none of the pro's female?", as if organizations are going "yeah, you're really good but we don't want any vagina on our roster so fuck off". In reality, they all just fucking suck and struggle to keep up in CAL-O or some other scrub division where there are literally zero requirements to get in aside from paying.

This is what happens when you hire people based on diversity instead of meritocracy.
It does more harm than good too as now the optics are that women can't play, which isn't the case. There is no reason women cannot play as well as males, but they care more about making a "all-girl" team for gender equality than actually having a mixed team of actual ability.

If I remember correctly these russian LOL pros were ranked Plat and Diamond in their respective Solo Queue and had no prior experience, so yes, this was never anything more than a marketing stunt. Nobody ever pretended otherwise. Offer a 100 League players a deal where they would be ridiculed while laughing all the way to the bank, a good percentage of them would probably take it.

Throwing a bunch of chicks together and patting themselves on the back for being "progressive" and actually thinking the team had a chance is what is being made fun of.
The video even talks about one of the teams signing a female player that's actually good. It's not that it's impossible, it's just that it's currently rare or improbable. Since esports takes away the physical advantage, we should see more women being competitive on the same level, unless something else about the actual difference between male and female brains still makes a male generally more competitive, like testosterone or something.

Well what is that difference? What is that something? Hardcore Gaming is not as popular among women as men so there aren't going to be a lot of Representatives. So far less people to pull from at a professional level. This is just pure logic. Are we gonna say Native Americans are worse at vidoegames too, cause if I got a bunch together the play leauge they would be trash too.
