Resident Evil Village New Survey Asks if Fans Would be Interested in a Demo, Hints at Existence of a Xbox Digital Only Console

In this latest survey, Capcom did end up asking if fans would be interested in a demo for Resident Evil Village down the road. This is curious mainly because with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Capcom released a demo for that game not long before launch. While simply posing the question to fans doesn’t mean that it’s bound to happen, it does seem to show that the idea is being considered.

The other most interesting question that is posed in this RE Village survey deals with the platforms that the game is coming to. Capcom asks which next-gen console potential buyers of Village might be most interested in snagging later this year upon release. While this might seem like a pretty straightforward question, it was one of the potential answers that Capcom provided that was rather interesting.

The survey listed a digital-only version of the Xbox Series X as one of the potential purchasing options when it comes to next-gen platforms later this year. While the answer made sure to specify that no such thing has even been announced yet, the fact that it was included in the first place continues to add credence that the rumored Lockhart model of the Xbox Series X is surely real. At this point, the second SKU for the platform is the video game industry’s most open secret. Rumors indicate that Microsoft will be unveiling the platform properly in just a few short months in August.

It says "if available" on the Xbox digital only though. They're probably speculating.

Yeah exactly my thoughts, its just speculation. They wouldn't have put that in if Sony hadn't revealed an all digital PS5 imo.

I wish it was speculoosation though, imagine a caramelized RE game, mmmmm, heaven!

I can't answer this bastard question lol, or at least I don't want to. I like the many games for different reasons. Can't just pick 3.

I've played RE5 for a lot longer than I've played 4, and I enjoyed RE3make more than RE2make as a whole, but if someone told me they were just going to play one out of the remakes of 2 and 3 and either 4 OR 5 I would definitely say RE2make and 4. I love REmake as well but I can't see a place for it on a top 3 list.

My "top titles list" is not really related to what I think are the better overall games.

FUCK this question lol

Xbox Series X digital only console is probably just a guess on their part. But we did get the Xbox One S all digital console, so I wouldn't be surprised by an all digital Series X.

I took the survey. I told them an option to play in 3rd person would be nice. I would play a demo if offered but I will buy the game regardless so it probably wouldn't be needed. I would of course wait to make sure it was not a flop.

How dare Capcom in 2020 have just 2 genders? there are 798 that I know and many more that will be invented by the end of the year.

We ain't outta here in ten minutes, we won't need no rocket to fly through space
Do your part boys, fill out the survey and register your strong interest with a game demo. We don't get nearly enough these days.

The joke doesn't work when the other option is right there

It would be pretty funny if Lockhart ended up being just a diskless XSX, after every single insider on the planet has siad its a low spec budget XSX.

Asked for a collection of old RE titles similar to Megaman/Street Fighter ones.
With loads of old artwork, music, interviews with devs and such.
Demo version. Haptic feedback/3d audio features as well.

It's one of the few devs that I take the time to answer surveys nowadays.

I asked for a return of treasure + combining treasures, generally more puzzles with more combining items/examining and incentives to replay the story/chapters with shop items. I loved the shop in RE3make (even if it was sloppily implemented) + RE5 treasure/chapter repeating + RE1-3 puzzles + combining/examining items.

After RE7 and RE2make, I'll buy any RE game day 1.

For now. RE3make burned me, but I bought the CE more for the statue than the game so I'll live. I'm sure RE8 will be more than worth it.

Took the survey, and basically told Capcom I love what I'm seeing with RE8--exciting new environments with unique enemies that'll hopefully offer more variety than RE7 or the two recent remakes.

Damn! I should've mentioned that. The original trilogy deserves a faithful remaster just like you stated (as well as making all door animations and cutscenes skippable). It's way too hard to play the original trilogy these days, and that's not OK!

It's basically a guarantee that we'll get a demo, just like RE2, RE3, RE4, RE5, RE6, RE7, Revelations, RE2R and RE3R did. And if the recent remakes are anything to go by, we'll likely get the demo around 2 weeks before release.

Speaking of demos, the RE3R demo got a 240 MB patch. Something may have been added, like how the RE2R got an added Nemesis soundbite.
