Halo Infinite launches holiday 2020, adds Xbox Project Scarlett version

I thought only humanity could activate Halo?
That's not an indefinite thing. They've stated that launch content will not be discussed and that battle royale is simply a possible "mode" within Halo (probably possible with forge as we speak). It's also been quite a while, and chances are that they've seen the newfound success of the once dying franchise, COD, do exceptionally well when they release Warzone the battle royale. What I'm saying is, that it's obviously not completely off the table - that would be negligent. It's very myopic to assume that game "modes" are set-in-stone at this point, and 343 has been known to double-back on a few things in the past as well.

Personally, I would love to see a Halo battle royale. It honestly just sounds like a lot of fun to me (the fun of big social modes), but with an added competitive/survival element.

IF they did do BR modes, it would be most feasible with ODST's. Could you imagine hovering above a ring in the infinity in a drop pod? Every game would start out like Halo 3 ODST.

No they straight up denied 3 times(twice 343i and once Phil himself) that they wont do battle royale.

I couldn't find that source, I tried looking. I'd like to see them deny the possibility entirely.

I remember the community manager back then saying the only BR they cared about was the battle rifle. Also phil saying hey dont wanna "chase trends".

That being said, Halo IMO is the perfect universe for a BR. ODST drops, health packs, maybe mix in some AI firefight enemies in there. I think if they made it unique, it would work. But if would have to bring something new to the table.

Warzone is unique, Apex & fortnite too. If they can bring something new to the table within it, it would absolutely work.

There is nothing quite like a good BR game. COD MW is becoming my fav game of the gen. MP is good, BR is amazing, theres so much content that theres something for everyone.

"We meant to show that. It's all a part of our marketing strategy to show everyone toys to represent our AAA video game. Obviously we meant for you to see something that was very clearly a heavy plot spoiler but it's clearly not true."

To be fair, their last marketing campaign certainly didn't give any indication of the actual story so why would these toys?

A lot of 343 is made up from Bungie - as much as you want to shit on them, calling them hacks ignores facts that they did work on most of the Halo series

As other have said, no they aint filled with Bungie people.

And the big problem with 343 was the fact that they came in and threw everything Halo was out the window. They wanted to make Halo their own on day1, without any evolution to it. They figured, Bungie is gone and now is the perfect time to start over. 343 failed because the wrong people were hired in key positions and that led to a vision for halo4 and 5 that nobody wanted.

Look at how people react to Disney and the new SW trilogy. Thats what happens when they disrespect the past and try to change everything. Not to say that its impossible to change things. God of war did it marvelously, but that games vision was brilliant. Halo4 and 5 were not.

I hope MS and 343 have learned their lesson because i know for me personally, this is their last chance.

I’m wondering where people get this from. I’m guessing because they have Frankie and Ske7ch? Vic DeLeon was there for Halo 4 but past that, I can’t think of anyone else. Three or anything close to that doesn’t make it “filled” with people from Bungie.

I still don't consider those outright shutdowns of the possibility of a battle royale mode. He was cery sure to state that modes are all subject to change WITHIN the same conversations/interviews. Only time will tell. I stand by that a Halo battle royale would be crazy fun.

Recently played all the Halo games in MCC I liked the cinematics and remakes for the first two. Halo 4 almost looks like a current gen game. I liked one and 4 the best. I thought 2 and 3 were just OK but 4 was really good in comparison. Is that when 343 came into the picture? Also reach is an MCC add-on, worth getting for SP?

As for infinite, I'm definitely hyped. Halo 5 was meh but still enjoyable. Infinite hopefully will have a good story and a co-op campaign.

Reach is probably my favourite halo single player didn't really touch the multiplayer, I would definitely recommend playing it for the single player

Reach is the best campaign, hands down.

Just found a way to play (wifey) co-op on 5. If you have xcloud access and a tablet :)

Tried playing Halo 5 again. Halo 4/5 seems to be faster paced and more reactionary? Is that what makes it feel closer to COD?
Personally I feel 4/5 have just been modernized, as the old halo games, though far ahead of their time, are somewhat clunky and the shooting is perhaps not as satisfying.
Halo 4 for me felt like a huge step up in terms of gameplay. Also COD is popular because of its excellent gameplay and feel. Still, Halo 4/5 feel quite unique (even if they borrow some COD elements) and I personally prefer this direction.
Either way, I think 343 is a very competent studio and it sounds like they are really listening to fans for Infinite. Not sure I'm a huge fan of the bright primary colors shown so far in Infinite, kinda preferred the gritty metallic look of 4.

343 goofs on a Halo battle royale and it sounds like it would be the best game they've made in a decade. Nah, give me more female Spartans, Locke, robot dogs and evil Cortana bruh.

I would say that the core gameplay on halo 1, 2 & 3 is better than Call of Duty, the weapons and enemies, the level design and the gameplay feel give me more satisfaction when playing today (this days I am replaying all of them) than halo 4, 5 or Call of duty.
Cod went on another direction than Halo even at the halo days. Then Halo changed for the worse. Halo 5 has many cool things but the hud is super intrusive and claustrophobic, many weapons feel weak (although they are cool) enemies feel more chaotic and uncoordinated and fighting them is not as interesting. They focused the story on characters, added real life actors that don't fit and make the game worse...
I am still waiting for infinite and I hope they can recover the gameplay feel and the mystery of the first game somehow.

Of course it's going to open... Not even sure why Ryan would ask that question, closing with it doesn't make sense if it's going to take 20min. Open with it and leave the closing for a "one last thing" moment.
