Lmfaoo wtf

I hope you're trolling. If so, you got me.

Comparing TLOU1 to 2 the sequel has a massive advantage early on in terms of revenue. I'm not sure what the first sold at launch but the sequel has sold millions more at full price and millions more digitally. I'd imagine the collectors and deluxe editions sold far more too.

Obviously the budget will be bigger but even if the sequel sells less in the end the profit made should be far higher. Hopefully the multiplayer is good.

Yeah you're right, TLOU sales had a very, very long tail whereas TLOU2 has sold more right out the gate at full price, so revenue generated will be much higher I reckon.

Hopefully this means Sony doesn't turn ND into a TLOU factory, although we'd all like to see the sequel to this one, after that, their insane talent should be let loose on a sci-fi or Lovercraftian-styled new IP.

But weirdly enough, I can still get the Special Edition everywhere which is usually not the case for a game like this. FF7R's Special Edition for example is still hard to come by unless you want to pay scalper prices.

Anyway, it was to be expected that it'll sell well. The question is if it can sell as many copies as TLOU and/or if this game will end up hurting ND in the long run with their next game because people might not like what they bought into. Like the same thing that happened with Star Wars. Force Awakens $2b, The Last Jedi $1.4b, Return of Skywalker $1b with the train wreck that is Solo that came out after TLJ and only made $400m.
Special edition is everywhere probaby because COVID19 is accelerating digital adoption at incredibly fast rate.

The game might be weaker than other ND games, but I am not sure if it well effect them negatively in the long run. The game is still excellent regardless. Some people argue that MGSV effected Kojima negatively and definitely effected Death Sranding, but MGSV was a really strong disappointment IMHO. TLOU2 is not.

Not to mention the eventual PS5 version. TLOU/TLOu Remaster are at 18m+ copies. Considering TLOU2 launched with an install base of 110m+ consoles vs 87m on PS3 for the first game, I can see TLOU2 selling over 20m including the PS5 version.
And I can see the original selling a few more million to also pass the 20M mark.

I'm just here to watch you pussies whine and try to justify the game sucking by making up fake scenarios about how its not actually good they sold 4 million copies in 3 days lul

If this is aimed at me, I never said the game sucked, and I never will. is my thoughts on what I have experienced in the game less than yours is just because I did not like it upon completion? I don't have a meta account, so I'm not going to review bomb something.

I actually have 2 ellie edition for sell on eBay nobody wants them. Good thing i still got my best buy receipt 😆 good thing i will just return them, thanks naughty dawg

How many of those 4 million people ended up not liking it and either trading it to gamestop (gross), selling it on ebay, or just plain trashing it?

Sales alone should never be a measure of somethings success. Michael Bay movies sell a lot also, but there is no accounting for taste.

Sony still has their money.

So are you saying that to Sony, only the money matters? I mean, as much as I don't like TLOU2, I'm pretty sure Neil and everyone on the dev team worked their asses off on the game, and care more than just the amount of money they bring in for it.

It sold well and it's critically acclaimed.

What more would Sony want?

For whatever it's worth, though it seems people would rather name call "haters" who don't like TLOU2, The last of us part one is still one of my fave games, and my reaction to TLOU2 won't change that.

There's a difference between not liking a game after playing it. And it's another thing to constantly trash the game because it's an exclusive. I've seen both happen here.

And I have seen all haters of this game lumped into the same category of "cunts, virgins, and *Insert many buzzwords here*. You may take the time to differenciate the two, but many others in this topic are not. Fanboys are just as bad as haters are. Where is the balance?

Here come more excuses to the book.
Well when one owns a company or sells a product how should success be graded measured the?
