So I am replaying HZD and Spiderman on my Pro and what is really making me realise how insane next gen will be is the fact that both of these games were designed around HDD speeds....the jump to Ps5 isnt double or triple it's ludicrous, like 100 times that or more right?

I mean HZD looks insane with its 4k fakeness...I'm beginning to realise that HZD2 will look like a cgi custscene...all of the time....

Same here. 4K is all nice, but i wish every one would copy the few fellas who made minecraft RT. Render internally at FHD or 1440p, but add wicked RT all over the screen, object, world and not just on "chrome surfaces" like cars. Dont think the ngen consoles can do RT at 4K.

Anyway, WHO the eF pays attention, in a heated battle for 1st position in GT7, if the rival´s helmet is reflecting everything correctly or not?! To me that sounds like wasted resources. IF raytracing, then at least it better be Global Illumination.

I don´t care if the dashboard is reflecting or not. 99% won´t be racing in cockpit view, so that´s gonna be performance/budget wasted on nothing. Then again, one could argue why even model the interior of cars, when only 1% of the players plays in cockpit view and the majority 99% roof, bumper cam.

Also GT7 has one major issue, namely the track. I dislike what they did to Trail Mountain, especially coming out of the long tunnel. The new trees type dont look right.

As said before GT7 looks the least impressive. I think their engine isn't 100% optimized for PS5 new perks, that's why I would expect something better, or maybe better version before release.

i really dont understand why these guys are so insecure. they won the spec war. they have the most powerful console already. why take these pot shots like insecure little shitheads.

if anything, if i were brad sams, i would be feeling much more confident in the xsx's supposed power after last weeks conference. all they have to do now is show more games that look like hellblade 2 and they would have effectively proven themselves as the graphics leader next gen.

there is no way they are beating sony on sales next so maybe thats why they are so desperate? that doesnt mean they cant compete and they might even pull of a xbox 360 like success if lockhart manages to resonate with soccer moms and if sony fucks up the pricing. but you dont need to win a gen to have a good gen. i really hope these guys understand that you have to first generate good will then you can think about winning generations.

MS has been touting "feel" and "60fps" recently.

I think this is obviously due to their forward compatability policy.

If a lot of their games are going to be forward compatible, and thus 60fps, be prepared for Sony fans to gloat for the next X number of months. And I think the majority of games they show in July will be built to run on the OG XBox One.

XBox Series X games at 60fps will not be able to compete visually with Horizon II, Ratchet and Clank, Demons Souls etc...

So that's what we have to look forward to.

They promised gameplay and got burned(seeing Aaron apologizing was priceless).

They promised 60fps as minimum standard and got burned.

July is their last chance, if they underdeliver again...

I don't think there's any chance they under deliver in July.

Halo Infinite gameplay (that looks relatively fun)

+

One big new AAA exclusive (that looks relatively fun)

+

Hellblade II and a bunch of indie games will be enough to "match" the PS5 show for most people and both sides will say that their plastic of choice won.

I firmly expect MS to do the above at minimum.

I'm initially into 65", but considering 75-85" Sony XH90 (X900H)! Currently at 55", and I preferring placing my TV's on a bench, something like this: (not my photo)

You can put whatever size you want!

EDIT: For the console, I don't recommend this tight set up, I pull the racks out and keep it one open space for better air flow.

Expected a dic pic in the reflection of the tv. I am pleasantly surprised though. You actually had the decency to put on some pants.

Yes it is, did you remember the discussion where some people mostly xbox fans talk about a compression for textures which accordly to them
will deliver more bandwidth than PS5, which is stupid as Microsoft already told us how much this BCPack will improve its bandwidth.

The thing with this new algorithm of RAD is accordly to them (and some number we can do) Sony will increment its bandwidth as when they gave the number
only use Kraken, that is why the compression was minor in PS5 than XSX.

Of course I think not only Sony will use it also XSX but the thing is they are already close to its limit of decompression so just let's make a quick numbers (speculation)
I will use 10% of improvement in both consoles I prefer to be moderate in the amount of improvement:

4.8 *1.1 = 5.28 GB/s
9*1.1= 9.9 GB/s

But now imagine an compression more aggressive of 40% (which still looks great):

4.8 *1.4 = 6.72 but the decompressor has a limit of 6 GB/s so in reality should be 6 GB/s
9*1.4= 12.6 GB/s

Of course is not easy to make a calculus like this as you should has a larger sample to obtain a more realistic average quantity and also this means more data in our disc.

MS? The company that shouts to the wind every time they patent something? The company that adds catch names to every thing they do in order to promote it?
They bought a license for Kraken and Oodle Texture and kept silent about it??
ROFL!
Would Oodle Texture even work with bcpack? There is no info yet on what BC#s are included in Bcpack (or if it is a brand new BC).

I have my 65" C9 on my long Dresser. Could put a 77" on it technically, but 65" is enough. It almost feels like an Entertainment system the way it looks.

I disagree. Many millions of less lucky citizens of Earth are still willing to buy PS4 when PS5 drops because it'll be much cheaper. With PS3, Sony sold manufacturing licence to factories in India which produced millions of consoles for 3rd world markets. I guess it's not going to be different this time, especially with all those great exclusives they're still releasing.

The biggest issue the new PS4 owners will have is deciding what game to start with! Do you choose: Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, The Last of Remastered, Uncharted 4, Lost Legacy, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, God of War, Spider Man, Ratchet and Clank, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us 2, Infamous Second Son, Infamous First Light, The Last Guardian, The Order 1886, Shadow of the Colossus, Killzone Shadow Fall, Drive Club, or Dreams...

I've finished every game on the list (the ones that are completable). Sony delivered on every level this generation! For those getting the party started late, the options are ridiculous!

The patent is not of them.

Yes should work with BCPack how much improved is another story.

A lot of subhumans are spoiling the game tlou2. Even some popular youtubers are just putting spoilers in the title of their videos with no shame, gonna have to leave the internet for a bit while i guess.

Yet Sony is the only one to show a Next-Gen game running on actual hardware @4k@60fps 😂
Yes that is very true and MS needs to show games running on actual hardware. Ofc I expect both companies to have games running at 30fps - 120fps. But MS seems to be talking more about it and they even stated that we can expect their first party games to be running at 60fps by default, Sony said nothing of such. Now if this becomes a reality remains to be shown but still MS seems to use many tricks to make sure it happens.

I'm sure 343 Industries will manage 60 fps on Halo Infinite. It's built ground up to be playable on Xbox One after all. They must have sacrificed alot of graphically demanding bells and whistles for that, leaving room for higher framerates on SXS.

Edit: I really do pity XBox developers these coming years... Christ, to be held back like that. They must be shaking their heads.

Don't know about the sub human thing. But you got to block. Don't recommend channel again. It actually makes you enjoy searching for newer or low subscribed content creators.

Just don't understand when was it cool to ruin stuff for other people. But it is what it is. Just hit that block button & don't recommend channel.

Why don't you stick on current gen so ?

I have so many great games i have not even played yet.

Assassins creed origins and odyssey for example.
Days gone and Spider man
I will only be getting to those on the ps5,

My back log is immense and i am slow at playing games.

Really looking forward to the patches or decreased loading of Backward compat.

I have a feeling, that we dont see much improvement. Because the game is probably targeting 120fps for VR

I thought I read Yamauchi wasnt too happy with the last VR GT experience. So maybe

Wonder if both ND teams where focused on finishing TLOU2, if so this is going to be a looong wait. I'd rather see them working on a new IP than TLOU3.

The "Uncharted" team has to be at least partially focusing on something other than TLOU. Otherwise, indeed, the wait would be humongous - and might not make sense business-wise. Weren't they rumored to be working on a sci-fi title?

On a side note. Bo didn't like my pillow post. I feel like a failure of a man.

On another note, I was telling my old college buddy today that I think the revelation of the all-digital model could put the kibosh on those of us hoping for the lucrative PS1-PS3 backwards compatibility.

I still hold out hope for that to be a thing, but I feel it would have somehow leaked out by now. That being said, Sony has *really* managed to lockdown almost everything until they were ready to speak.

I was watching this earlier

It’s an 11 years old PS3 game and with the difficulty and limitations of the console and as a new ip, obviously they wanted to do much more back then.

So what changes do you expect from Japan Studio & Bluepoint Games in term of gameplay and level design?

NOT IF PSNOW will all of a sudden have PS 1,2,3,4 library of games. If they have that and release a new PSP. I sign up with immediate effect. No f**king around. Immediately.

But we can all dream. If they have it they the generation back compat. Its just going to tick more boxes off. And it will godtier the PS brand.

I have a theory on this subject of BC. I think the emulation of PS3 PS2 and PS1 could be true (PS1 only digital). Being PS1 and PS2 relatively easy to emulate and complex PS3 to emulate.

My theory is pure speculation but I think that the PS3 emulation would only be graphic, the sound would be sent to tempest that has technology similar to Cell and being able to run it in native and eliminate that part of the emulation. This would free up the CPU a lot and could run with certain resolution enhancements or simply eliminate slowdowns currently occurring in the PC emulator.

In many occasions the sound is what fails the most of the PC emulation and consumes many resources. Even on PS2 the sound is expensive.

If there is no PS3,2,1 emulation at the beginning of the generation I am almost sure to add it later
