I need to know the dimensions but based on it being 15” I would prefer horizontal but I can’t see it fitting in my unit tbh it might it may not fit vertically. Also I picked digital based on the fact that I haven’t bought any games on disc this generation and the fact I believe the disc version is going to be expensive.

Do people actually use vertical orientations? I've never owned an entertainment center that would accommodate that.

My 77" entertainment center is in a nook against the living room wall. I have the XB360 sitting vertically between that and a side wall. It's been working great, and I've used it everyday for excercise (the XB360) since December without any issues.

Somewhere far far away. Maybe inside something hidden, so that no one has to see it. It just doesn’t fit designwise anywhere. Horrible.

While I've always appreciated Sony's bolder designs, I usually end up preferring the industrial design (simple, clean, etc.) like Microsoft's current direction (One S, X, Series X).

I havent like a Sony design since the PS2. That continues with the PS5. Its gonna look like a white turd in my entertainment room. I was hoping for a black one to match that sweet all black dual sense. The venting with blue LED is a nice tough though. I usually like their down-styled mid gen refreshes better than launch designs (though the plastic is always cheaper).

Horizontal.

I actually think the version with the optical drive looks way better horizontally rather than vertically.

It hides the lack of symmetry way better.

What were they thinking when they came up with this?, I mean I am not a massive fan of the Xbox X design, but compared to this it's awesome.

It's hard to say. It looks so sexy standing up, but I kinda like my consoles in the floating shelf in my entertainment stand.

I think it comes down to the tastes of each one. I for one don't like one bit the Xbox Series design. If I had one it would go to where my subwoffer currently is and I wouldn't even notice the difference.

I'm not saying PS5 design is perfect, I struggle with that optical drive location, but it looks much more like a console than XSX.

My ps3 and ps4 are horizontal. The ps4 will be moved to my parents, and the ps5 will be horizontal. Still hoping for a black version BTW

I ain’t a fan of that stand it has to sit on when on the side. Seems a little mad to have 2 stands , one for vertical and one for horizontal

I don't think either is amazing, but the Ps4's design is just going to take some getting used to, I just wish it were more symmetrical, such a shame as Sony are usually pretty good at this sort of thing.

Well it is symmetrical, if you go all digital :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I'm hoping the stand comes with the console, and it's a stand that can work both ways.

Like the Bravia TV's for example, which use the same piece to support the TV on a flat surface or to hang it on the wall.

Let's hope Sony doesn't go stupid here.

This looks like the real design honestly. The assymetry is actually almost symmetrical, and balanced out with negative space and the line of the ground. This looks better than the digital version.

Consoles just make the most sense to me when they're horizontal. Really don't understand the whole vertical thing.

Waiting out a physical black edition. I think this console looks hideous. I really don't even want to look at it in either direction.

Vertically. So if it falls over it can squish my freeloader cockroaches.

Just kidding. Horizontally. My entertainment center is small.

Digital vertical. Horizontal look weird from my eyes, and something seem wrong with the regular cd version. But im really liking digital standing up.

If I get one, I'll place it horizontally because in the vertical position it looks like it could easily be knocked over and damaged.

Vertical.

If that things decides to get louder towards the end of the generation than horizontal. Either way it will look captivating.

Horizontally or Vertically?

Mmmmmh... hidden !
Yeah, it will be for me no matter what, same for Series X. I keep my stuff stored behind the TV . I have a custom wall mount set up and I basically gutted the wall behind the TV so there is lots of space to place the cables, the modem (since I always game online with a direct line instead of wifi) and of course consoles. I'm more a fan of a clean look and less electronics. No matter what, this stuff typically doesn't fit in and eventually you just want it hidden.

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.
Seems like it's made to be used primarily vertically.

It looks like a overgrown shellfish.

Thing about the PS5 though is unlike all other PS consoles, the PS5 was actually made to sit vertically.

The other were optional but horizontal primarily and vertical if you wanted. The PS5 is vertical as a primary and horizontal if you dare.

You can even tell by the consoles inward bevels that it's not meant to sit on it's side. It basically going to rest on 2 edge if you do vs the whole unit. I'd be making some room to stand it upright, it probably also comes with those stands unlike any of the other PS consoles

PS5 Digital Edition Horizontal is the way im going. PS5 Pro/Slim, I might go with a Drive.

Thank you! Been looking for a good comparison, because the one I've seen the most has the X1 as smaller than the PS3 Fat (which is wrong!)

Vertically, at least at first. I have to keep all my consoles pretty high so my kids don't fuck them up which means they're in a cabinet fairly high (back open to allow air/cables; front open as needed depending on temperatures). Since I have multiple consoles they obviously won't fit horizontal. In the future when my children are older and know not to fuck with them, I'll more likely have different furniture and may end up horizontal.

All my consoles are in a separate media closet, so I never see (or hear) them, so it doesn't matter. Likely, vertically as that will probably fit with the other consoles more easily.
