I refuse to believe it. I mean c'mon it would be the largest console ever released if my memory serves.

Large then the PS3, OGXbox, hell its bigger then the Magnavox Odyssey 2 I grew up with. If these size comparisons are indeed correct I'll be shocked.

Don't like it at all. It looks like they wanted to make something ultra "fancy and futuristic". But for me it just looks like cheap design, straight up from a science fiction movie of the late 80's.

But the only thing I care is games so I will probably get it for Demon's Souls and Horizon Forbidden West.

EDIT : Didn't listen the talks, so I have question: What is the "digital edition" ? More drive space to DL games ? No physical reader ?

The digital edition simply doesn't have a disc drive. In the same vein as the Xbox One S All Digital Edition.

If I am seeing this correctly, it would not fit, horizontally in my entertainment center, and by that I mean the actual dimensions in the slots below(I have two normal size low profile TV stands below my 65')and won't fit next to my television, on either side! Standing next to my T.V. would be the only option and it would stick out like a sore thumb, and going by the base size would be precariously perched next to it.

My cats would knock this thing over in a heartbeat.

Not streaming. It means you have to download all your games with an internet connection. Then you can play them locally from your hard drive.

I'm the other way round - I think the controller is fine, but I hate the way the console looks. This is despite them both clearly having the same underlying design language, and I guess it just shows how hard it is to be a designer, since you are never going to please everyone.

Even with Sony's attempt at making it look sleek with curves and all, I can't help but think of something like this 2014 Steam Machine by Cyberpower. It looks awful in the gaudy PC look kind of way. When I build or buy a new PC I purposely avoid this kind of flashy gaudy look, and prefer my consoles to be understated as well.

It won’t fit .. but series X box will,

I think digital only looks better , but looks like something from 2005, it has that breath in X360 look, and because of white .

Not that it's a big deal, but I wish Sony would have provided more hardware porn, letting us see the console from all angles, showing how the console connects to the stand horizontally, and giving a better idea on size.. I also keep thinking with this design, there's potential for a lot of low-effort Japanese special-edition consoles.

Agreed. I'm glad Microsoft went with the black fridge look. The Wife Approval Factor is many times higher.

I've been looking at it now for a while, just getting used to the design, but I can't say I'm a fan. Standing up it looks okay, but laying down it looks terrible. It's a bold design, I give it that, but damn, I thought it was gonna be somewhat sleeker and more "box-like". This thing is fucking huge. You could rob a bank with this.

The color scheme is nice and pretty and it blends in well with the peripherals, but it seems the whole console is yet another dust magnet. I hope it fits in my bench, otherwise I don't know where to put it.

They needed to cool that chip down somehow, so they put some vents all across the sides. Then they decided to put those tall blades on top.

It's kind of ugly. But not too bad. We've been graced with worse from Sony.

Im hoping it'll grow on me to the point that I don't think it's ugly but at the moment I think it's hideous and I dislike both the two tone colour scheme, the shape and the apparent size of the machine.

I do however think it's quite interesting that it matches the colour scheme of the PSVR (which was also ugly) which in turn matched the colour of Astrobot!

Astrobot comes packed in with it as well. It's the Astrobot machine.

I thought it looked ok the first time I saw it this morning, but it's looking worse and worse the more I look. I'm not a massive fan of the Series X design either, it's like a dull-looking PC mini tower.
