How dare they release info on a game? There are more important conversations happening right now!

edit: of course they disabled the comments on youtube, can't even message those racists at Sony and Cuckdog

Those sensitive fucks were supposed to reveal it in 27 hours. At least I hope this means the game won't be delayed.

I think they've adjusted Ellie's face you know. I definitely recall a long time ago, when we first saw Ellie using the game engine, thinking it didn't quite look right. They seemed to have tried to bring her features in line with Ashley Johnson, but if you look now, she's back to looking like she did in the very first trailer.

It sounds like there is too much randomness for my tastes, I like predictability in my games, thats why I love Hitman so much. The guards in Hitman used to have their head and torso movements scripted based on the time elapsed in the level, but they added randomness to it so they looked around differently every run of the level and everyone had a shit-fit cause it ruined the predictability, so they toned it down a lot and eventually quietly reverted it.

On Survivor difficulty, Michael Huber from EZA said human enemies just randomly turn around and look behind them when you are in stealth.

IMO, this is fantastic for realism/immersion, surprising the player, so cool at first but bad for game design overall because the 10th time I randomly get spotted when approaching them slowly from behind I'll just go guns blazing.

Sorry I'm so negative on your favourite game Chunk, just my feelings, I'm dehyped.

Where I thought she didn't look quite right.

It could just be that I've gotten used to the difference.

The best I could find of how she looks now. It does seem to match the first reveal more:

Ellie didn't look at all like Ashley Johnson. Tell me, do you see Ellie in Ashley Johnson in this picture? That's what they changed:

They changed her to look more like Ashley Johnson but now I'm thinking they've altered it slightly again.

Insensitive sons of bitches how can they release a trailer about a game with everything going on right now, they should delay the game
they haven't said anything about it on twitter oddly enough. no activity from PlayStation or ND

Looks so good man. Love we’re getting new enemy factions, new infected species etc. I have no problem watching everything official they release to youtube, because i’ll be starting straight to Survivor difficulty and my 1st playthrough will last at least 30+ hours. I can live with seeing about 45 minutes of footage spread out over like, the last 3 or 4 years.

Looks really underwhelming and gameplay is just like the first game, nothing new. Very disappointing.........

Also they should delay the game and all promos due to current events. Don't be insensitive and tone deaf Sony when there are much bigger and important issues to be addressed right now.

The release is a couple weeks away though, it’s not like it’s coming out tomorrow

Not to be that guy, but you haven't played the game yet and stealth in the first tlou was mediocre at best with stupid ia and bare bones mechanics, the atmosphere was good tho.

Games like hitman, mgs5 or dishonored saga, styx or even the new thief game pulverize the stealth of tlou1 and if the second one only add dogs, going prone on tall grass and better ia we are not really in an untochable realm for other stealth games...

You guys can praise this game without all these hyperbole, you know that right?

Now if we talk about realistic, slow and methodical tps\melee combat and how fluid it looks then we can discuss about tlou2 being first in class but we still have to play the game first, i really don't trust journalist about stuff like IA, even that guy huber from easy allies that looks like he is having multiple orgasm while previewing the game had some problem about the exploitable ia during stealth, and that guy is probably the biggest fan of tlou2 among all journos.

I played allmost all of them.
The answer is no.
I'm not gonna start a (probably) pointless discussion about what makes these games vastly superior to tlou1 stealth, if you like tlou more, good for you, most people who played all this games already know the truth.

There is no “truth”, maybe some people just prefer the gameplay of TLOU over those games.

My take is that original TLOU is not pure stealth game thats what I kind of like about it. I recently started replaying the game again on survival difficulty and the encounters are intense.

I’m not a perfect gamer. So I usually get discovered one way or another so my goal is to kill as many enemy as possible before I get discovered and when I do get discovered I have to improvise with little resource I got which adds so much to the experience.

I mean fundamentally it is a matter of taste like everything else, but things like ia, number of mechanics etc can be measured.

vastly superior to tlou1 stealth

It depends on what you mean by 'vastly' and 'the truth'.

Personally I liked the possibilities of let's say Hitman 2 and Mgs5 to play around with the enemy, but was utterly surprised by the total stupidity of the A. I.

So if you mean more options then I agree, but if you say better A.I then no.

Well games like Hitman, their core gameplay is all about stealth and you play as professional killer so yes in those games you have more tools to work with but remember in TLOU is less about getting perfect stealth and more about creating advantage for that encounter using stealth. In TLOU especially when you play in survival and grounded difficulty is all about trying survival each encounter with little resource you have.

TLOU didnt have groundbreaking gameplay for sure. But calling it mediocre is a bit overblown if you ask me. Gameplay didnt bother me a second and quite enjoyed it as well

dude tlou1 ia during stealth was pathetic as fuck, with blind and deaf enemies who don't care too much about piles of cadavers.
you can stay behind the edge of a cover and press triangle (or what the button was) and fuck every enemy come close to you before they can even react, there was even a couple of funny videos about that particular thing, and not even let me start talking about the overpowered bottle\brick\melee mechanic...

also the game was bare bones, 2-3 archtypes of enemies (i know they are more, i'm talking about how they differentiate during stealth), takedown from behind, object to throw, stop, these are the options during stealth.

all the games i cited have far more options and less stupid enemies (or at least less exploitable with cheap tricks)

i know of course that every game has some fuck ups with ia during stealth, no one is even close to be perfect, but i find tlou1 being pretty mediocre during stealth.

and i'm one of the few that sing praise about the ia during combat and i consider the game my favourite realistic tps of the last gen (after max payne 3), not exactly an hater of the game.

i have almost 45 hours on that game (2 runs) even if most people completed the game in 15 hours, because during my gameplay i repeated many encounters just to test the ia during stealth and combat at hard and survivor (never played grounded tho)

i even rewatched the new walkthrought of cohh on twitch and he and the chat noticed how bad the ia is in many occasions.

i called the stealth mediocre, i absolutely love the combat of tlou, i'm basically buying the sequel for the combat because i don't care about ND storytelling and characters.

the only noticeable good thing about the stealth in tlou was the atmosphere, mostly because the sound of clicker and runners are outstanding and unnerving.

This is nothing compared to what I did in Hitman with my sweet coins.

Yes, agreed. But coins is all you need.

Look, I am not arguing complexity and options, but your 'vastly superior' and 'wipe the floor' wording is what makes me wonder.
