Assassin's Creed Valhalla will run at 4K 30FPS on Xbox Series X

So much for seeing more 60fps games next gen when even cross gen titles are already opting for 30.

Would be nice if they had some options. 4K and RT at 30fps and then something that looks closer to the current gen version but at 60fps.

if this is because of the game having ray tracing it would be nice to have a option to turn it off the maybe boost frame rate.

have they said anything about what resolution it will run on xbox one x?

I cry about SonyGaf from my chair in Redmond, WA

Not surprised by it. Images sells, so they will rather have higher quality textures or some worthless graphic effect on instead of making it 60 fps.

If you wanna be certain to get smooth fps there is only one way to go.

Actually its not ubisift being lazy. Its their engine. Rtx 2080 ti paired with high clock i9 hits 60 fps rarely and falls in the 45 fps range . Xsx and ps5 are below that for both gpu and cpu.
And what engine does ubisoft use?
Third party or in house engine?

Ubisoft . Always makes my dick soft.
Cold hands and outdated engines.

I'm not a believer that every game will run perfectly at 4k 60fps for next gen, but I think we should wait a bit longer before jumping the gun on the doom and gloom here.

I mean, were talking about a game from Ubisoft here... a crossgen game at that. We're seriously basing the capabilities of next gen hardware on a game made by a company that openly states that 30 fps games look and feel better than 60 fps games?

Seems a little premature to me.

But on a serious note, I have to unblock some people just to see how they react to this. A handful of them seriously were saying how much more powerful it is to the 2080 Ti, and RTX Titan. In my head I'm thinking, for 5-600 bucks?! *laughs in braille*
It's unbelievable to me how people continue to fall for this shit every generation. It's always the 60hz dream and how now it's finally possible because Microsoft or Sony told me so.

It's even worse this generation because we have Digital Foundry who do extensive work on this shit and always publish their benchmarks for new games. The AC Odysee benchmarks for 1080p all the way up to 4k, are still just a Google search away. There's no excuse anymore for just blindly believing what the manufacturer is telling you. They'll tell you anything to get you to buy their box. I remember when Peter Moore stood on stage and told everyone that Xbox 360 had solved the problem of aliasing. Jaggies were now a thing of the past. So we're load times if I remember correctly.

They lie because they know the average console gamer doesn't even know what a pixel is let alone all these technical terms that just sound really impressive. I had a guy at Best Buy one time try to sell me a Sony television by telling me that it had a CPU processor in it. I let him in on the secret that every television in the store has a processor. Mind blown.

I have tried to say numerous times on here over the last year that this is the price of 4k, nevermind throwing ray tracing into the mix as well. Even Cerny himself said you need 8tf just to run PS4 games at 4k. There will be tons of games next gen that look like current gen games but at 4k. Tons of 30fps games. Hell stick heavy ray tracing into the mix and there will probably be a fair share of 1080p-1440p 30fps games next gen.
Some first party games will of course blow us away, but outside of image quality, and maybe a higher percentage of 60fps games than ususal, this could very well be the smallest jump in terms of pure graphics.

U should read the PS5 thread where they talk all day long about i/o and ssd and honestly think they get 4k RT and 60 fps in every game even while a fucking 2080ti can't get 60 fps rt at even 1080p, because the PS5 is faster then any super computer at this point haha.

It's funny as fuck.

These guys are delusional as shit.

This is kinda why I believe mid-gen refreshes are still gonna be a thing next gen, especially if they incorporate some advanced DLSS 2.0 or equivalent type of support in the Pro revisions

Considering both Origins and Odyssey’s PC ports, I’d say this is mostly Ubisoft’s fault than anything else.

Say what you will about PS5 or XSX, but 4K60fps in a cross gen title should be mandatory, unless they are cooking some nice effects as counterpart.

I mean, the price for 4k/30 should be at least 40% improvement over graphics, though I have a hard time imagining that.

Ubi is just lazy

It is a weird situation. I have often wondered how PS4/XB1 can even hit 30fps in these games, when Origins and Odyssey can bring my 6700k to its knees at times.
I dont know what Ubisoft do with their engines, but nearly all their games are always super cpu dependant.

Which is a Jaguar, the Zen2 is over 4x the power of that.

UBIsoft is a very sloppy company from all aspects including there programming the amount of power you need to run AC games on PC is abuserd the XSX can handled AC Val with no problem massive incompetence on their part.

Isn’t next gen so exciting, kids?
We cant judge next gen on Ubisoft games, when their games even bring some high end PC's to their knees. I mean look at Dirt 5, its cross gen yeah, but it also has a 120fps mode. A lot of the games shown so far are supposed to be 60fps. The 8 core Ryzens will def give us more 60fps games next gen, at least in the first couple of years anyway.

Also the thing that fucks me up about this I assume ther are going to be xbox and ps4 version of this game as well? So we cant say last gen hardware is keeping it back. For a new game on the new console but also last gen it should hit 60fps no problem. Now as last gen gets fazed out new gen games will look better and odds of then hitting 60 fps then are going to go even lower if bitches cant hit it now on launch

Well you never know, maybe it looks amazing. Origins and Odyssey do, maxed out on PC anyway. I even locked them to 30fps when i still had my I5 6600K. I hate flucturating framerates.

It’s possible. This better be locked rock solid. Still would like a checkerboard or 1440p/60 option.

Black Flag was an improvement in resolution, textures, lighting, weather physics, etc., over the gen prior graphically.

I know there are supposed to be a lot of big battles in the game, so it could be a similar situation to AC Unity where they had way too many npc's on screen to hit even 30fps on current gen. Maybe next gen systems will be showing a ton of npc's on screen in these battles.
Plus you never know, maybe there will be a 1080p/60 mode in the game. I did have a feeling that could happen with next gen games.
