It doesn't work if you're instigating it on purpose. The whole draw of console warring in the forums is to be disruptive to the conversation at hand. If you give those warriors a proper outlet to voice their opinions it simply won't work.

Sorry bud, but I buy consoles for the games. It was PS5+PC before the reveal, and it still is. If I want any xbox game I'll just buy it on Steam like I did for Killer Instinct. PS5 being weaker is fine, not the end of the world.

Getting almost sorta more serious, aren't people who are already sold on buying the new Xbox on day 1 bothered by the fact that it won't have any actual next-gen first party software for at least an entire year after their purchase?
And we know how easily games get delayed. What if it's 1.5 years? Are you really ready to dump all that money just to keep playing Xbox One games with slightly higher settings for that long? I mean, there will be the 3rd party stuff, but a lot of that will be cross-gen too.
