Ghost Recon: Breakpoint |OT| Mo'Drone warfare

I put about a hundred hours into it. The only real criticism I have is that I got a bit sick of opening crates toward the end. There's so much stuff available for free that there is no need to spend a cent of actual money. The game plays really well, the shooting is solid and it's massive. Not a lot to complain about really.

So the game didn't survive at the end right?

I basically check the reddit every day and I've put like, 130 hours into it solo. If the reddit activity/player hub activity/response to the new raid (the first big content injection since launch) is any indication the player base is basically dead at this point. I'm pretty sure the game is not doing as well as hoped/planned for. The remaining players probably hoped the raids would bring new life back to the game, but boy: the raids are a fucking dumpster fire.

I knew this was going to bomb and die quick. I have a question for you though, how did you find your 130 hours with the game? Worth it and fun? Or you felt forced?

It's a very easy game, much more so than Wildlands. If you dig "tacticool" loot shooters then it's a very relaxing game. You wander around, shooting dumb enemies, customising your gear, gathering pieces, enjoying the scenery. It has the depth of a kiddie pool and if you don't enjoy the first 30 minutes you won't enjoy the rest of the game, as it's super repetitive. I'd say pick it up on sale (I think it was at -60% recently), but don't feel pressured to 100% it. The main storyline can be done in a few days, less in a team.

I don't know man. Wildlands was so boring to the point me and my mate couldn't continue

Then you want to stay clear of Breakpoint. Wildlands at least had some spirit (fight the drug dealers! America fuck yeah!), Breakpoint is pretty soulless.

I'm enjoying it surprisingly, especially with the fact that I gave up on AC Odyssey because it was too big and had too much 'filler' bloating it.

With this I find it quite relaxing and the shooting is quite satisfying which helps. I think I'll still with the main story missions primarily but I tend to take on bases or wander off the beaten at times.

This is my disappointment of the Gen award winner.. I really hope they managed to "Rainbow 6" this bitch in post.

I love love LOVED Wildlands. I put in something like 400 hours, co-op & solo. It was so cool traversing the map and just making it my own. There were bugs and stuff, but the fun outweighed everything else.

I "like" Breakpoint.. technically it's fine.. it just has zero soul. Wandering around this gorgeous map.. solo.. killing random bad guys who appear to be spread out.. literally everywhere.. just gets tiresome. Taking down a base or whatever is still fun, you can be tacticool and all that, but outside of that.. there is just.. nothing. The NPCs are horrible, the story is literally all over the place, and while I don't hate the loot system.. it's ultimately just a stupid and pointless time waster.

I never realized how much I missed the stupid squad banter until it was gone. Have NO civilians roaming around in the wild makes the map feel ULTRA lifeless. They designed this awesome thing.. and then populated it with 3 bad guys and a motorcycle every 150M.

Sigh. I got the $120 or whatever super ultra deluxe premium edition too.. so mad at myself. I thought for sure if it was JUST more Wildlands I'd be in hog heaven.

Breakpoint is not a looter shooter. And the removal of AI teammates was a great decision - sync shot made Wildlands way too easy.

Breakpoint definitely improves, i ended up really liking it. On temp NFS Heat break, but look forward to digging back in.

Been playing a bit more now and getting sort of the Wildlands feeling again. Definitely is improving. I still like the series Wildlands/Breakpoint. Next Gen version should be pretty cool if they play their cards right.

Though I'd prefer something closer to real world conflict, even if it gets controversial. Vietnam/Iraq/Afghanistan/North Korea/something like that.

And the game just looks great on the X1X, no doubt about it.

Friend bought me this for xmas, is there anyway to make the aiming/ controls less janky? Currently boosted sensitivity to 80.

Any tips welcome.

Breakpoint is not a looter shooter.

Bullshit.

Progression is measured through ilvl/gear score/light level. Activities require a certain gear level to even attempt. Enemies and areas are marked with the level gear they require/reward. Dailies reward points towards tiered gear. Raids reward tiered gear. There's an entire crafting system devoted to maintaining and upgrading your tiered gear. The system cannot be ignored. It cannot be bypassed. It's integrated into every facet of the game.

The only thing it's missing is a freaking LFG system that says you need to be ilvl 90 before you can access the Scarlet Monastery.

Imagine if they simply made it like Ghost Recon again, where even with team mates it was still very challenging.

Nah, let's just rehash Ubi-formula #3

This still sounds like the shooting is fun and that’s my main deal, but I think they’re on the wrong track with the series. I liked the previous Xbox 360 games but I just wanted cool graphics and tech stuff for the future soldier thing. It seems like it still has that but it’s not intrinsic to the game.

I really like this one. Destroying a military dictatorship alone with the sexiest toys at your disposal in a drop dead gorgeous environment. There´s alot to love in Breakpoint imo.

I also have to mention that the game has the most satisfying explosions since Crysis.

Yeah I'm enjoying it more since I've gotten further into it. It's $20 on the Xbox holiday sale as well so I gifted it to some friends.

But it’s not too late. Ubisoft, in recent years, has provided better post-release support for its games than any developer on the planet.

Honestly, gamers are fucking weird. I remember when CDPR released its first Witcher game unfinished - and then fixed the game (sort of) via a massive patch, and then had the balls to call the patch the ‘enhanced version’. Gamers ate this up, praising the daylights out of CDPR for releasing the so-called ‘enhanced version’ for free. LOL.

Ubisoft has done exactly what they should have - and admitted publicly, almost day one, that the game has problems. At least they listened to the fans and are going to continue work on the game. I’d much prefer a dev face up to its mistakes, than have to endure that horseshit CDPR pr crap we’ve been seeing for years.

Is on sale on the epic store for $23.99, add in that $10.00 holiday coupon and you can get it for $14.99. I can probably find $15 worth of fun in it.

Of course after installing it it won't run because it has to call up Uplay and is failing silently. OK, run uplay as admin, manually, update uplay. Go back to epic launcher, try again. Still failing silently. OK, back to Uplay, try launching from there, turns out there is 9+ GB update to download for the game I installed LAST NIGHT. Is that just really bad timing or are both these launchers even worse combined?

Breakpoint is the most pleasant surprise of the year for me even in it´s current state. The gameplay is so satisfying and the environments.... beyond gorgeous.

Imagine what Ubi could do with AnvilNext in DX12 freeing up some cpu cycles!

You mean like Ghost Recon 1...from RED STORM ENTERTAINMENT . Could you even imagine getting a game like that from UBIshit in this day and age ?

The only hope right now, as far as a new proper tactical shooter goes, seems to be Ready or Not. Everything else is mp shit unfortunately.

Not with gamepads in mind, nope!

Yeah, but even then it's more of a SWAT successor than a Ghost Recon one. It's a shame :/

Hrrumph.

Ghosts,

Back in October 2019, we posted an idea of what to expect Moving Forward for the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Breakpoint experience. With the start of the New Year, we wanted to share an update on what we’ve been working on and what you can expect as the year continues.

We want to express our gratitude to each one of you who has shared your opinions, concerns, and comments about the game. We appreciate the feedback we’ve been hearing and continue to take it to heart. We want you as a community to enjoy a great Ghost Recon experience, and there’s no better way to create that than to listen to the opinions of players.

We’re excited to be working on new Ghost Recon Breakpoint content and you can expect to see community-driven changes, Title Updates, and new content in 2020.

TU 1.1.0
We’re glad to share that this will be releasing shortly and you can expect to see TU 1.1.0 live by the end of January!

This TU will address the following changes, among others:

  • Made improvements to Night Vision.
  • Sharpshooter exploit with DMR rifles addressed in all modes (PvP, Raid, PvE).
  • Players who previously lost their Thermal / Night Vision will get it back after loading their save.
  • Players who previously lost their Water Canteen or Binoculars will get them back after loading their save.
  • Rebalanced Stamina for PvP after it was buffed in a previous TU.
  • Toned down the coughing sounds players could hear while in Erewhon.
  • Enemies will no longer shout in pain after being shot in the head.
  • Improved AI behavior:
    • Fixed an issue where enemies investigating will go to cover mid-detection.
    • If enough NPCs die at a single spot, they will stop rushing the player and will get into cover more often than before.
    • We also modified the vanish rules so that NPCs will stay in the fight if they are close enough to the player.
  • The Digital Scope now has multiple levels of zoom.

  • Enemies will no longer shout in pain after being shot in the head.

  • If enough NPCs die at a single spot, they will stop rushing the player and will get into cover more often than before.

This game was so fucked up at launch lol.

Did they patch in AI teammates yet? I had a comfy time with Wildlands taking out enemy bases, but I heard all you have in this one is an expanded drone. I read somewhere that they would be bringing back the AI teammates due to feedback.

The AI is so bad you don't need teammates, or even the drone.

You can prone in cover 50-100 yards out and snipe everybody with a suppressed weapon.
