Why is animation and lip synching so bad in what is a 2020 game...…...This game looks bad graphically, it looks really low-budget like it belongs in the PS3/360 era of third party AA titles....

Yin: Fast & Furious Crossroads. Dated, unpolished.
Yang: Senua's Saga: Hellblade II. Supreme visuals. My queen.

I sort of missed these rushed, low budget movie tie in games.
Seems like they all moved to mobile in recent years.

Honestly, it looks painfully average and forgettable. Not just the graphics and animation but everything about the game trailer appears as if it was stuck in limbo for the past 6 years.

The perfect match for the films...
hey
those films are good, man
you get to watch street racers slowly increase their power, until they're basically superheroes, and eventually (I'd say by the finale of FF10), living gods
it's like fuckin Saints Row in movie form
it's really like Saints Row in movie form

I was waiting for the trailer to end with a Google Play Store and iOS logo. Why are there PS4, Xbox and PC logos on what is clearly a trailer for a mobile game? This actually manages to look worse than Forza Street.

They should use that extra time to reboot or heavily rework the project. It looks laughable, especially since it's not coming from a studio without any experience in the genre.

Might as well. The game looks like shit and won’t have the benefit of a film to help push it to some people.

maybe Codemasters can pump some money into it since they only bought Slightly Mad Studios in November.

This will definitely be crown jewel sendoff of the current gen. /s

I have a sinking feeling Codemasters bought SMS for the same reason they scooped up Evolution Studios, to kill their competition in the arcade racing arena by buying them then shutting them down.

When they bought Evolution and formed Codemasters Evo, they had them make a racing game that nobody really wanted at the time and released it with a whisper. It was actually a good game despite it's Poochy-Cool aesthetic but it failed spectacularly and Codemasters quickly shit-canned Codemasters Evo including Paul Rustchynsky and other studio leads who had previously made Driveclub. Keep all the art, programming talent, and assets but cut out the brains.

I hope that won't be the case this time, but Ian Bell has a lot of ideas and I can picture him butting heads at Codemasters over time. Codemasters now owns the maddness engine, the laser-scanned track assets and licensing deals that came with SMS and really don't need Ian. If SMS' first game under Codemasters flops, and this Fast and Furious game looks like it's designed to do just that, I expect Codemasteres to pull the plug.

With atrocious handling according to one review this game on paper had the potential to be a Forza Horizon clone....another wasted license

This is what happens when the game doctor is told to do an abortion of game, fishes around in there, pulls out most of it, leaves a small bit and thinks "that's not enough to do any harm", but then in 9 months(or how many few it took them to shit this out) a abhorrent game comes out.

I watched the gameplay video, it really made me wish they let Need for Speed company handles this IP and make an amazing game, that might have even revitalized the NFS franchise.

I have no idea what the gameplay will even be about. I love the film franchise (they shot Fast9 scenes in my area), but the series has gotten so over the top, and is completely detached from the street racing scene. I can't make heads or tails of that trailer as a result. Is it all just a bunch of QTE events between racing segments?

EDIT: Nevermind, I see the longer videos on this page. Hard pass.
