Metroid Prime Trilogy HD And Super Metroid Remake Rumored For Switch

The one problem w Metroid Prime is that the art style was very very well balanced with the limitations of the systems it ran on. A simple up-res could look both visually bare and inappropriately sharp - the Twilight Princess remaster had that problem to a lesser extent. Cel shaded graphics lent themselves much more to an HD upgrade. Ideally it would be a “remaster” with the license to recreate the “feel” of the original.

Prime looks great in high resolution. Cel shaded or not it's super stylized and cool still, not trying to be photorealistic and failing just because of the specs or anything.

Not to say you can't see low res stuff, but it's fine. And nobody says they can't have CRT filters in 3D games even if they're most often seen as scanline filters on 2D games to recreate the exact original look. Retroarch (there's a dolphin core for it) has lots of great CRT type shaders.

Metroid Prime 3 does subtly look much better though!
