Microsoft’s Xbox Elite 2 controller arrives on November 4th for $179.99

I've done it for 20 years, and i really tried to use paddles on the elite, but i couldnt do it. My pinkie doesn't feel strong enough for them, you cant hold under the pad without pushing paddles, oh and the whole elite pad is really heavy compared to normal pads. It feels like a brick, youre always conscious of holding a heavy thing. The whole concept is flawed.

The added weight is one of my favorite things about the controller to be honest. I wouldn't mind it being a bit heavier, but I spend a lot of time moving around and setting up steel beams at work by hand. I've never had an issue with accidentally pulling a paddle either as I hold controllers a bit higher than most people typically do. It really comes down to personal taste but after using the paddles going to a controller without them sucks. At the very least I use them in place of the RS and LS click-sticks. In FPS gams like Halo or Titanfall mapping the reload/jump/dash/etc means I don't have to remove my thumb from the stick. I can't claw at all either, the base of my finger is higher than the B button on the Xbone controller but my pinky is too low to catch the bottom paddle so I use my middle and ring fingers.

Looking at your claw image, my digits appear to be longer than yours which may help explain the differing opinions. I'm a fucking gorilla so it seems to suit me well, it's a bit on the small side if anything. I wish they make a Duke size Xbox controller but with a better layout.

I hope they have the rubber sorted out this time around seeing as the entire contact surface is rubber. I'd hate to drop $180 on one and have what look like used condoms hanging off the thing after a few months.

Just wait until the Elite Ultimate Minecraft edition comes out. Will only be $45 more, but come pre-wrapped for protection.

I had the same problem. Called up Microsoft and bitched and they mailed me a new one, no problem. The rubber on this one was getting loose as well but a little crazy glue fixed it and it’s working fine now.

This kinda gives me hope that we might get better specs in the next gen machines than might seem possible based on processor retail costs. I feel this way because I can only imagine what the retail markup is for everything else when one controller can be sold for roughly the same price as the entire base model system with controller.

What I'm wondering is if I can take out that battery pack easily and put in my Eneloops.

And the PS4 controller is complete and absolute garbage when it comes to battery life. It's complete dogshit. Why in the world are you defending it?

The battery life is atrocious on the PS4 pad admittedly, but imo that still beats having to replace the batteries every few days because the controller drains them so quick.

They are crazy. I cannot imagine what is so much better for 120usd more over normal xbox one or ds4 controller.
Paddles are shit and I never like using them

The Elite controller is not worth, my elite broke the X button months after using (and i use it very little), i never had any problem with any of my other xbox controllers.

Sorry about my english :) .

Apology unaccepted. However, that is horrible to hear. With very little use the X button on your elite controller broke.

Wifey just told me she got this for my birthday. Did not expect that at all. Looking forward to using it on Modern Warfare and Halo infinite (PLEASE BE GOOD).

This is way too late into the generation, crazy to shell out that amount of money for this with next gen around the corner and if the controller for the new Xbox is remaining the same well then it's the PS5 that has got with the times and updated the tech with their new controller and Microsoft is lagging.

I have an Elite controller that is working perfectly, no issues and besides the feel of it in my hand, I don't find it much better than the stock controller. I hate using the paddles and it's not worth the money imo.

On a side note, this is the type of stuff that annoys me about Xbox. I personally believe Sony's new PS5 is gonna trump again next gen!

It would be too late if it wouldn't be compatible on Scarlett. Fortunately, this is not the case. It will probably the premiere controller for NextBox.

These controllers are for the hyper try-hards such as a myself. The paddles are essential.

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.
Very sexy looking. I'd be tempted if I had an Xbox.

You missed my point.. I know they are compatible.. What I'm trying to say is, you spend $179.99 on a new elite controller only to find out the Scarlett has a newer and better revised high tech controller. For example the PS4 to the new PS5 controller, have you heard how significant the changes are in Sony's new controller? And if the new Scarlett controller is not much different in design to this gen then it looks like Sony are ahead of the game with the features on their new next gen controller.

Moral of the story: Fuck Microsoft with their new Elite controller for that price now after the failed quality control of their original Elite controller.

What's premier about it? You are paying through the nose for basically the same Elite controller they already released. And so you're saying Xbox have done nothing for the new console to add new generational features like Sony is doing with Haptic feedback, Dynamic Triggers etc. It's a joke!

Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere.

Microsoft is launching a new version of its popular Xbox Elite controller today at E3 2019. It’s the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, and it has been totally reengineered according to Microsoft. There are new adjustable tension thumbsticks that can be adjusted using a tool to improve precision. The trigger grips have also been updated, alongside redesigned bumpers and shorter hair locks so you can fire faster. Even the paddles and thumbsticks have been overhauled for more customization.

Microsoft has even included USB-C support and Bluetooth, and a rechargable battery that lasts for up to 40 hours per charge. It looks like the controller design has been updated to include a wrap-around rubberized grip, too

QUEEEEE?!!!!!!

WHATTTTTT?!?!!?!?!

This controls do my work or WTF??????

No one Control should cost more of $50.00 Dollars

For you Microsoft

i can understand the outrage. the worst part is they are literally forcing you to buy it. if you own an xbox or PC, they charge $180 to your account and you get a controller whether you like it or not

now, if it was an optional thing that you could buy if you wanted to, that'd be a completely different story

I paid good money for this Dynex!
Not sure if I can justify buying one of these at that price, particularly with the build quality issues the first time around. And I'm the kind of moron who will spend $400 building a custom arcade stick, so that's probably telling.

It’s expensive, but controllers that offer this level of customization typically are expensive across the board. Looking forward to the increased stick tension options on this one, it’s been difficult going back to my OG elite after using the C40 with Battle Beaver modules.

I'm not touching this with a barge pole given that my recently-refurbished OG Elite is still sitting in the box it came back in.

I don't doubt that they've fixed the build issues this time, but I didn't front up big bucks the first go round for the privilege of waiting for them to fix it in the sequel. I'd rather cobble together my own elite equivalent out of durable, readily-available parts.

If there was some form of trade-up program then I might be more interested, but MS likely doesn't want to take back a bunch of units that have a ticking timer on their lifespan.

a hooker only lasts a couple hours. this controller will last forever six months
Fixed that for ya :lollipop_halo:

I wonder if this will be compatible with the next gen Xbox. At that price, one year of use out of it seems pretty harsh.
