E3 will be better next year with the next consoles. This is the poo year.
Naw. E3 has been pretty shitty in the last couple of years. Its time to shut it all down. MS should just use Inside Xbox to reveal stuff, and save all that money. Sony should reveal with State of Play, and Nintendo should just continue using direct. Man I miss the 90s when E3 was actually good, and now it’s just crap. Maybe it’s cause I’m getting older? I dunno. I might just end up quitting gaming and go travelling instead.

To be fair with the pedigree and experience we have experienced so far with Sony's top caliber studios they get the benefit of the doubt. Microsoft has been disappointing all gen minus Forza so they don't. Thts just my take on it.

I respect your stance though.
We also haven’t seen anything of the new studios other than games that were being developed for this gen.. I’m not saying Sony doesn’t have good games, I’m saying Microsoft’s games are still baking.

OH I know. I look forward to seeing games from some of their acquisitions in the future.

It's obvious that 3rd party studios have become very stingy with their reveals these days. They may start marketing 35 minute gameplay demos at their own pace and platforms (YouTube, Twitch, etc)
They’re too busy counting their piles of money and complaining about twitter leaks. I would rather have leaks than sit through a E3 conference again. And that includes from all companies.

Yeah, as much as I love E3, the Microsoft conference didn't hit the highs that I expected. I can't blame them for keeping their cards close to their chest for next year's E3 which will be the most important one.

I’m done with E3 overall. I’m just tired of the Met gala cringe fest. I would rather watch ‘to the point’ reveals on state of play, inside Xbox or Nintendo direct. These events are just getting worse and worse over the years.

IDK, You should make a poll about it
Yes they said ...whe have a two hour show...overhyping again Microsoft?
The best show in Xbox history....again?? And btw is was not the best show in xbox history, it was mostly 3 party a slew of indies no new IP's no Halo for the Xbox One (s and X) it was a bad show thats it.😎

So many cool games for 2020 (except Outher Worlds). I was kinda hoping that at least one of them will be available this year, but nope, not even Ori. Oh well.

Guys, wasn't the MS Conference supposed to last 2 hours or something?
It ended at approx 1 hour 30 mins of duration.
What happened?

There's an amber alert thread on the front page, we have the police looking for the missing 30 minutes as we speak.

Tag the mods or call officer doof barney if you have any new info.

Good show, went faster than expected. My biggest complaint was there were a lot of games where it wasn't clear what sort of game they were. Numerous trailers shown but unclear how the game actually plays.
Still a million times better than not showing anything though, Sony really missed out

Microsoft has lot its way.

Their management of Gears of War demonstrates that. Genuinely, one of the coolest franchises on console. Remember those epic trailers, It should be front and centre. They should have taken today to show five minutes of campaign footage; shown off the new mechanics. Generated hype for how good the game will feel to play.

Instead, it was some God awful rap song showing off forgettable multiplayer. It's as if the execs are designing all their games for people that wear Beats headphones and refer to themselves as 'influencers'.
Bro......that's not even a rap song😂😂😂😂. It's more alternative honestly. But you right tho that GOW was underwhelming.

I don't get it why so many people say it's the worst conference of Microsoft. Hyperbole over 9000?

People seem to have forgotten MS Kinect era of E3

Imo this was really really well done. Alot of good surprises like Blair Witch. The only thing that was dissapointibg is that they didn't show enough for halo infinite. But atleast they furthermore acknowledged that halo is going back to its roots (Chief Armour design, original music, Cortana is back, masterchief is more silent like in previous games, etc) HYPE

People had high expectations, due to Next-gen on the horizon.
MS sort of set high expectations. You can't say you're going to show 14 exclusives only for them to be "indie games":

People were also expecting them to have bought more studios because they made a big deal of it last E3, instead only Double Fine who again are known for small indie games. It's crazy to me that they expect to fill up a new console's lineup with exclusives when they only buy up indie devs. Double Fine, even given more money are never going to make a AAA game, it's just not their style anymore.

Flight Simulator looked great. Nintendo might have something look like that a billion years from now. Well, probably not.

I think it's possible that they scrap the fable 4 and AOE 4 gameplay segments in the last minute because they think gamers just won't like it. Quite a lot of their games must be stuck in development hell and they just aren't confident of showing any gameplay.

Nothing but negativity - any actual gamers here or just people who bitch and whine about everything?

FFS.

Happy to own all the consoles so I don't have to shit on stuff to make myself feel better about my choice. As much as I love Sony exclusives their conference last year was horrible and complaints were flying about 'too much gameplay' for the like 6 fucking games they showed. This year is not enough gameplay and too many games for MS.

Just sad.

Are you upset people are critiquing a conference? Sony got a pretty poor reception last year, Microsoft conversely largely praise.

Why not just let people say how they feel. Past E3s have had so many hype moments it's never been limited to just one platform holder/publisher. No one watches these things live just waiting for dissapointment. If you compare this one to previous showings you'd be hard pressed to put this in the top half and this years should of been Microsoft's to own.

Garbage conference.

Do not persuade anyone to go buy an Xbox, on the contrary it dissuades.

And what is currantly persuading you to buy a ps5 over scarlette. Only halo infinte has been shown so far as a next gen game from either console

This was Microsoft's chance to really shine, Sony wasn't going to show up at this E3 so they had ample opportunity here to talk with 3rd parties and show ton of exclusives world premieres and so forth, and while a few of them definitely did show it feels like most of them were things we already knew about or kind of lackluster...

Honestly if I had to grade the conference I would give it may be as C or C+plus... wasn't the worst by any stretch, but ultimately just a little disappointing and underwhelming

Pros
Microsoft finally quit using that stupid and dubious exclusive voiceover

Ori looks amazing

There were some really impressive Indies there, Spirit Farer, Return to the woods to name a few

Spent as little time as possible showing off mobile games like gears pop

Phantasy Star Online 2 baby

Continued Support of current games including forza horizon for, State of Decay 2...

Flight simulator returns as does Age of Empires hell yes

Cons

Way too many CG trailers, and way too little gameplay

All the bravado for the next Gen. Xbox and it honestly sounded pretty much like the next Gen. Playstation

No truly huge announcements That would blow people away, be It timed exclusivity, or just an exclusive title.

Lack of fanfare or applause for Flight simulator and Age of Empires II

WTF Moments

Gears 5 showing being staging and Cg...plus Terinator tie in

Halo 5 In game footage being shown hopefully for the xbox oneX and not the scarlet.

Cross Gen or not that was surprisingly underwhelming although crisp.

Acquisition of Double Fine, putting the release of psychonauts 2 into question for the PS4...

I was part of the Kickstarter campaign for that game, and supposedly have a playstation 4 copy coming my way special edition, will I have to change that to an xbox edition and what happens to those who don't own an xbox?

Again not a terrible conference by any stretch, Lord knows I've seen far worse but I think the hype unfortunately hurt this one As due to Sony's absence people thought it would be far more impressive

Good conference for me.
Just disappointed they didn’t show a bit of the campaign of gears 5 and reveal a little more of halo (that was to be expected that they will save it for 2020 but still)

The video quality of the stream was just amazing, way better that the stadia one.
More confident in xcloud than stadia.

I do, and plan to do so Salty McSalty pants. What the grown ups here are saying is that they have a new console to sell and this did not do much to put my eyes on their prize. Some people seem to take this far too personally it seems.

They only make money on games. If they can sell you a digital game without all the hassle of dealing with chinese companies to produce a console, taking up space in a warehouse, sucking off a retailer to distribute it to you, they are happy to skip it.

Don't already have a way to play? They're doing this to give you a way.

MSFT limits the potential audience of a big game by making it Xbox exclusive, and they're right now chasing software sales more than console market share. In other words, you are saying they failed to do precisely what they intended to fail at. MSFT has pissed me off many times trying to leverage their IP for market share and it backfired ultimately. They've simply learned their lesson.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

This is a good point. I was watching on Mixer in 4K and it was 100% rock solid, amazing video quality. I didn't have too many issues with the Stadia announcement, but it didn't look nearly this nice when I played it on Youtube live.

>200K people watching the Mixer stream, too, from what I recall.

Wish they talked about the streaming a bit more. And showed some Gears 5 story. They might be showing more on their stream a bit later and that'll work for me.

I thought it was a good show. I immediately signed up for the Ultimate Game Pass. I was basically paying that for Gold and the original Game Pass so to get the PC for the same price is a no brainer for me.

Sea of Thieves and then Killer Instinct and Cuphead taught be the glory of cross console being able to use the same game on both and as one of my guests named Davey once said I'm a believer.

Conference was a bit dissapointing for me, compared to my expectations. There were a lot of games shown, and i'm super stoked for Flight Simulator, but no real Gears trailer or gameplay, no Halo gameplay, and the conference seemed to just end, like they had missed something out or something.
The lack of big exclusive AAA games didnt bother me because i had already said that most of the new studio buys were over the last year, and thats not enough time to have soemthing substantial to show. That will be for next E3.

What the grown ups here are saying is that not all of us want to play Microsofts games on a PC.

If I had a buck for everyone that didn't understand people don't want to play on PC...
