Memory might be 18 or 24 looking at the layout.
They blurred it out on purpose as 1 side is never being revealed in the video.

so less info then we know about ps5 . and they never said nothing about backward ... wow ... all show for nothing ... and where other consoles that will be slower for streaming ...

4 times as powerful as xbox one x was the most interesting part to me.
It was cool to hear ssd confirmed.
They also mentioned real time hardware accelerated ray tracing and said that the processor was zen 2 but custom developed with AMD.

Or rather aim for a framerate between 50-70 with VRR.

I would love that, but there aren't enough VRR enabled TVs out there for that to really be a thing.

My thinking is that MS will push for the next gen baseline to be 60FPS so that anyone's TV can experience that, with perhaps anything higher being variable where a nicer TV allows.

So, dude with a normal 4K screen gets a 60 FPS experience.

Dude with a VRR 4K TV gets a 60FPS+ experience.

Like Sony, they'd actually have to actively try to not have BC next gen since the architecture is the same. And MS has been better than the others about trying to have BC the last couple of gens.

I think you can rest easy, Scarlet will be BC.

My 4K OLED needs to get replaced if they are truly going to support 8K AAA gaming 😂.

How big of an SSD? Can’t be 500 gb, it would fill up way too quick. I’ll say 2tb at least, which is gonna make this console very expensive combinging storage with the specs.

"The combination of the SSD and the solid state drive are really what gives you a totally new experience."

Am I missing something or is this the dumbest statement ever?

Guys i doubt they mean 24tf, dont set your self up for dissapointment. If it really was 24tf, they would of mentioned it, trust me lol.
They made it sound like this includes the overall processing power from the bandwidth as well as the cpu so i personally dont expect 24tflops but instead a marginal increase in the cpu

The next-generation Xbox, dubbed “Project Scarlett,” will launch in holiday 2020, Microsoft announced during its E3 2019 press conference.

Introducing Project Scarlett. Unmatched power and speed ushers in a new level of game play performance and the future of gaming. With four generations of content that looks and feels unlike anything before. Launching with Halo Infinite Holiday 2020.

Pure idiots, "load times" "load times" "load times" we don't care about load times we simply need more ram, more power bigger worlds more physics better animations we don't need a Xbox one that loads faster or a Xbox one with 120fps who gave them that idea.

How much more efficient is the navi architecture than the polaris architecture? because 4 times the X does not mean 24 tflops, knowing that the X is based on the polarized architecture which is very weak.

Sony did the right thing and just let Cerny talk about specs casually, do MS honestly think another over-produced and horribly corporate video gets the message across better?

Sony with the presentation about spiderman loading time about 0.8

Also halo looked looked current gen. I think everyone will be disappointed with both ps5 and xbox 5.

I rather think people need to take a reality check and need to start to realize that game's won't suddenly hit photorealism or any other big graphical leap anytime soon, especially with ray tracing in its early shoes.
Most computing power will go to more draw calls so the worlds look more paket, like 200 trees instead of 20, physics/AI and maybe finally hitting constant 60 FPS. Also a huge chunk of computing power goes to our new hype 4k and as show, next gen consoles will swallow even more power when tech giants decide that we humans need 8k TV's and game consoles. Huge Graphical leaps are over until we get a big breakthrough with RT and manage to get that into cheap small chips so consoles can benefit from that too and we stop jumping upwards the resolution scale. We gotta stop someday man. I barely have content for my 4k TV and I don't see that one increasing outside of the next consoles. Heck, national TV still sends in 480p and some very few in 720p in here.

I have already said there will be a lot of Xbox 5/PS5 games that look like current gen games at 4k, thats just the price of 4k. Now add in ray tracing, and that becomes even more of a reality.
Having said that, i thought the Halo part looked very good, very clean looking. Its hard to judge really without seeing actual gameplay.

They said they will use the SSD as a sort of virtual RAM. My guess is it is going to be smaller than 500GB, (maybe 2x 128GB PCIE 4.0 in RAID 1?) - probably enough to fit most commonly used game data for a few games only. All games will be installed onto a regular mechanical HDD and use the SSD as cache/virtual RAM when playing is my bet.

And people who think they meant 4x more powerful = 24 TFLOPs are going to be severely disappointed.

Aside from then saying GDDR6 and hardware based ray tracing, we learned nothing.

are you under shock?
they developed new ssd tech.... said the engineer and 4x the processing power of the X.
most people was thinking it will be ca. 12TF.
Its 100% more.... i think above 18TF.

and HARDWARE RAYTRACING
that megaton..

sony has telling nothing about power and RT... sony 8TF ps5 is not really next gen ist more a streaming box for stadia... lol.

Is it possible that sony announced the specs of the xbox scarlet and not the PS5?

Sony "we know what you have but you don't know what we have"

Like, the ultimate troll?

I think the 4x is the CPU too... MS said the same things Cerny said Zen 2, Navi and SSD.... nothing more than we expected. I did not see any point of telling these stuff at the E3 and that video...
