Wolfenstein: Youngblood Might Come With A Download Code Instead Of A Game Card (Switch)

According to multiple retailer listings in North America, the physical Deluxe Edition of Wolfenstein: Youngblood on the Nintendo Switch might not actually include a game card. This version of the game will instead come with a download code which can be redeemed from the eShop. The same applies to the game's Standard Edition physical release. Here's the notice on the GameStop web page:

No cartridge for this game. Code will be packed in box. Internet connection required.
Until now, there's been no mention about the Deluxe Edition possibly being a download-only retail release. Assuming these listings are accurate, Bethesda could have easily revealed this on the extensive FAQ page, as it does provide some extra information about the Standard Edition in certain regions:

*Note, the Standard Edition is only available as a digital download across Europe, Australia & New Zealand
Right now, there's no word if this will apply to the physical Deluxe Edition release in regions outside of North America.

Because they don't want to waste money on a cartridge that's too small. Large cartridges are expensive.
Just sell the codes then. Why the box? Boxes are there to protect and preserve the discs and cartridges.

As someone has said above it's totally to get the boxes in front of people. I can understand that.

I think the solution may have been to offer the physical game with 8 gb of a download and let people download the rest.
That way at least you have bring the physical game to other people's houses and play it instead of just a code.
The only other solution is to charge 60 for it and have the full game on a cartridge.

I really don't. They can simply have a card or a placeholder there to pick up and present at the counter to receive the code.

I don't mind this. I have plenty of space left on my microSD card for more games...

Although I'd prefer a physical game card.

Sweet, someday when the shop is no longer active you can have a gnarly empty case to remember the game by.

That's is horrible. But seriously, I don't what is worst , buy the retail version and need to download half of the game, like 10GB or buy it and need to download the whole thing.

Things are getting weird for Nintendo Switch owners that prefers retail version of the game, and critical for the one going full digital. If things keep like, people will start to have 2 or 3 SD cards in order to allocate all games, and swapping SD cards in order to play game sounds very bad.
