Anthem |OT| Fly, you fools!

Gotta say, far more impressed, at least during the intro mission than the demo by far. Looks gorgeous on the X and runs very well. Haven't jumped into multiplayer or fort Tarsus (still installing) but off to a great start and I hated the demo.

The tutorial plus first mission was what we got in the beta. Made a better impression than the demo imo too.

Do you guys know which Javelin you're going to main? I went in the demo fully expecting to play storm or interceptor but after it I decided to stick with the good old ranger!
Anyway it's nice we can play all 4 without needing multiple characters.
Assuming there's no changes in survivability from the demo, I'm going with Storm as my first unlock. I'd like to main Colossus but unless you get lucky with drops, it's going to be incredibly squishy until you get the Colossus specific gear that increases health. Storm's fortified shields felt much more tankier than a base Colossus. Quite jelly of people getting to play it early but I have to wait until 22nd along with my fellow plebs.

None of the english streamers know how to properly play Colossus, it is driving me absolutely batty.

No jump before melee, no combos, no shield-out flying to knock down the minigun lieutenants.

Once the server issue got sorted I gotta say it's a much better first impression than the demo gave. MTX aren't as sky high as rumored and the in game currency costs also seem reasonable based on how much you get from missions.

I'm 100% sure it's been linked in other threads but...do we have any video showing all the diferent mechs gameplay? I just discovered the "Storm" exists lol.

The devs said they have made changes to the colossus so its better starting out

alright i got in , performance is amazing but Fullscreeen mode forces HDR for me without an option to disable it other than running borderless mode

i think DOF/HBAO hit the fps the hardest

Thoughts,(Xbox one X) performance is improved over the beta but it is still unsteady especially in wide open areas. Fort Tarsis performance seems no better than beta.
The two intro missions actually ran really great, felt like a solid 30fps if not slightly better but after that things weren't so great.
Graphically it is what it is. Some nice scenery, some very bland textures. Maybe just my TV but terrible color banding in the dark. Especially when water is involved. Some of the worst smoke effects I've ever seen at one point in an early mission.
Gameplay is still fun
Overall if you liked the beta outside of the performance issue, you will like the game.
Its not the groundbreaking experience they promised us but it can be fun.
Ok now back to Apex Legends

I paid $15 for the early access played for a bit am lvl 6. It's fun I guess but after hrs of Warframe and Destiny it feels very... samey?

Having a blast. Leaning toward buying at this point. But...

Load times on PC are still ridiculous. SSD is a must. My brother-in-law accidentally installed it on HDD, and it's crazy how much faster I am than him.

It's also annoying in that it's very easy for group mates to get ahead of you in a mission and force you into a load.

Very nice OT, are those your graphics? Impressive work, mate :)

Just an advice. Write a short summary of what the game is about, how it plays, what is the focus, what you do in the game, how the multiplayer works, why we should bother with the game, etc.

Oh yeah gaming on an HDD can be hell!

I wasn't really planning on doing the ot but since there was none for launch I did it a bit quickly. Probably add some info later but I'm off on holiday tomorrow haha (which also means no anthem for me for a week :p )

Anyway anyone on origin wants to add me as a friend to get that alliance coin going? Send me a pm.

Well, I am enjoying it way more than the Beta/demo. Went through the first 2 missions and am way warmer in it than I was. Will finish the 10 hour trial and then decide, but it could be promising.

So, yeah, still can't get a stable 60fps at 1080p Ultra(or High for that matter) with GTX 1080 and i7 7700k.

Strange, I only have a 1070 and I'm on ultra 1080p and I get 55 minimum and rarely. Turned off motion blur, depth of field and chromatic aberration though.

Love it so far. The game looks and runs a hell of a lot better on the X than the demo ever did, so I'm happy. Still some warts here and there, but then I was hardly expecting perfection. Can't wait to explore (blow up) more of Bastion.

Man I was really disappointed with the demo, but I rally want this to be good. I'm afraid good impressions here could make me buy it even though I said I wouldn't...

Enjoying it a lot so far, did the mission that unlocked freeplay. Ended up doing a few world missions with a random guy, pretty cool.
But that showed me my only complaint with the game so far: the lack of text chat/messaging. I wanted to add that guy as a contact or something but couldn't.

I'm debating whether or not to get it, I've been watching streams here and there and it looks fairly easy. Does it get harder by any chance?

Hard to say at this point since we don't have access to the harder difficulties.

Also, is anyone playing strongholds and fighting titans yet? That's probably where the difficulty will be.

Gave it a go with Origin Access Basic and....eh, kinda fun, but very repetitive. Didn't like the UI or the writing, either. Pretty disappointed. Oh well, only $5 spent.

Hendrick's

If only my penis was as big as my GamerScore!
So there's an actual tutorial? Guess I will try it again even though I hated the demo.

It's worth getting Origin Premier for $15 is all I would feel safe saying at this point but the storyline seems pretty OK so far.

Thanks, I'll have both EA Access and Premiere for a few days before they expire. I will hold off on pulling the trigger.

Here's my Ranger decked out in his Legion of Dawn armor set while exploring a scar cave hideout.

So far I'm loving it. Performance on my PC has been great. i7-7700, Nvidia RTX 2080 Founder's Edition and new 4K Samsung monitor.
Everything maxed and never drop below 60fps. Fort Tarsis though lmao. I'm not sure what's going on but sometimes I get framerate drops into the 30s.

Cheers!
