Day one. I even played the hell out of those awful Deathly Hallows games last generation.

I love Harry Potter, in conclusion.

Harry Potter is such a boring universe that i can't phisically understand how so many people can find it so interesting

I really wished they'd make more of the turn based rpg's just like the gbc games. I have fond memories of HP:CoS on GBC

Indeed. Very edgy to not like a children's franchise.

This looks really interesting, Never been a big fan but always enjoyed the movies but the lore has always been fascinating. I will look into it and make it a potential buy if I like what I see when it gets closer to release.

This might just be my cynical side talking but didn't the Harry Potter ship sail like 10 years ago? I know that new movies have come out since then but I feel like hardly anyones talking about it anymore.

Now, I'm speaking as someone who hasn't read the books or seen all the movies, so someone very casually familiar with this series.

But for starters it's very British, which gives it a unique vibe and has a overall tongue in cheek but serious at the same time vibe that is also unique.

And the whole idea of the fantastical being hidden in the mundane modern day, plenty of stories are about someone being transported to an alternate fantastical world but the idea of the fantastical being just barely out of sight? It's a pretty unique and evocative idea.

And finally Hogwarts is just a very well fleshed out setting.

And as bonus the series was controversial and many didn't want kids to read them, so of course when you tell kids you don't want them to have something they want it even more.

Fantastic Beasts made $814m worldwide. Potter fans are fans for life. It's a weird case of having this incredibly imaginative and fleshed-out world, but a lot of the actual beat-for-beat plot points in the books were absolute garbage (see: time machine given to a little girl that Rowling realised she had to write out of the story since it would just solve everything).

So, someone else writing a decent story within this universe could be very cool. For a moment I thought it might be the next Rocksteady, but apparently not.

People who leak stuff have no respect for the team developing the game.
It looks like shot from a phone so it's probably someone who's from outside and didn't find anything better than betray the team than invited them here.

We have now all been robbed of a proper reveal, a nice surprise, instead we get that, a shitty video from someone who want to show off.

While I agree that I'd rather wait for "proper" reveals and that it's disrespectful to leak them, I can't see it hurting the game financially. If anything, this is free hype. I just worry that A. it's too far away to even begin to get excited and B. Potter fans will invent a wild narrative for what this game really is à la No Man's Sky.

Looks pretty good, not sure if it is but it looked like a PC build was being played in the trailer. The cross hair movement seemed like the speed of a mouse at least, unless it was aim assist. Either way though it seems like something to definitely keep on the ol' radar, hopefully it doesn't get cancelled.

"video unavailable" - soooo its real!

I heard it was an RPG like mass effect style, but I suppose we may see some form of announcement soon due to this "leak"

Go Go Neo Rangers!
I'm surprised it took this long for someone to put some real money behind the IP in the gaming world.

Sure why not as long it is no MMO. I think the Harry Potter Universe is way to interesting for a 0815 MMO.

Pretty sure it's some auto aim, and I'd prefer it that way honestly, I find "aiming" quite boring in action games like this, I miss the days when games had shooting only as a secondary mechanic, with auto aim, instead of having the whole gameplay being based on aiming.
Also we can see Xbox buttons on the UI.

Ah, fair enough then. And yeah I agree, a lot of actions games these days tend to have a couple decent core mechanics, and just use those mechanics over and over and over again and it just becomes boring. Far Cry I think is a good example of this now. The last decent action game I played was probably Yakuza 0 tbh, although not sure if you'd consider that mostly action.

anyone got a link to the video? first one was taken down

Looks like it's not just the first one, most of them got destroyed and thrown into the abyss by Warner Bros. lol. I regret not having downloaded it, but I'm sure we'll see it popping up everywhere tomorrow, Streisand effect ;).

Looks and sounds like the type of HP game I wanted growing up reading the books. There's definitely potential in the HP world for a cool RPG.
Not quite sure about Avalanche Software though. They have spent the last 10 years making Disney games, none of which have stood out for having particularly deep gameplay or engaging stories as far as I know
