Does the game use dynamic resolution? When I stand still it looks really amazingly beautiful but as soon as there is movement in the picture it is very blurry. (PS4 PRO / Sony X850 4K 65.TV)

While im loving this game and prob the best open world shooter game ive played in years, the only gripe I have is with all the baddies look the same. 5 hours in and I see the same 3 - 5 baddies everywhere. in some hideouts many duplicates. wtf ubisoft a game this good should not have so many duplicate NPCs!

yeah ... this is one of the more immersive open world games i've played in awhile but the enemy NPCs really take me out of it. i guess i never noticed it with past Far Crys as enemy NPCs were more non descript militia types

I thought this but could it be done intentionally so as not to confuse friendly NPC's of which there are many?

Had a great coop evening last night. Not sure what the thinking is behind locking some trophies to single player only though, if the full game is coop.

My CPU is apparently not enough to power rock stable 60fps anymore, sad

Also I hate that when I put something as waypoint on map, it does not show on the compass for some reason

In general I wish the game took lot more immersive systems from FC2 and gone away with all of its UI HUD nonsense (I disabled most of it but it sucks that it's even there)

The game is really fun and beautiful though and I wish I was not stuck at work

That's just the motion blur.

Huh, didn't know other people had issues with the goddamn murder turkeys. I rescued a guy from being executed beside a pond and when he took off he ran right into a turkey, which proceeded to kick the ever-loving shit out of him. Dude's running around screaming TURKEY!!! and I'm spraying and praying with an Uzi trying to kill the bird without hitting him. Damn thing took a full clip.

That sounds more like a framerate or motion blur thing., though I can't say I notice it on the One X.

How in the goddamn fuck are you supposed to pull off the chain, pistol etc takedowns. They simply will not activate if I press the buttons.

I ran into some weird issues with this game. On default settings(high) it works fine, 61 average FPS with some dips into lower 50s. So I tried to tweak a few settings in order to get a smoother experience, but I found that even on low settings, I get pretty similar FPS, maybe +5 FPS tops. Also, on any AA setting other than TAA, the game turns into a slideshow for me. And I don't mean the framerate goes down, because it doesn't, it stays 60 the whole time, but the screen freezes on a frame for 10s at a time or simply shows a black screen. Also, both my CPU and GPU activities go to 80%+. GPU is on 99% most of the time. Actually, had similar problems with another Ubisoft game, R6 Siege.

Is this game supposed to be educational?
Not that I’m aware of, but as an entertainment product, I’d rather not get a one sided ideology preached(pun intended) to me. Asking the player questions or even taking light jabs at current politics is fine by me as long as it’s not one sided.

I got to play this all day yesterday and I'm pretty damn impressed. By far the most fun I had was blowing apart the huge statue of the Father on top of a mountain, it was actually really intense as I made my way to the top to finish the mission, even my fiance couldnt help but watch as you'll defend against a few helicopters and I was doing that with automatic rifles and a handgun. The game looks super sharp, the characters and personalities you meet as the reviews and early impressions suggest, are pretty unique and give the game alot of its charm. The crossbow is a favourite weapon so far and definitely the right choice for stealth approaches on various missions, however it can take abit to master the drop for longer shots.

I also had alot of fun with the Widowmaker once I unlocked it, that semi is a beast and I do really like flying around in the helicopters. This game is just a fuck ton of fun to be honest, the vibe you get flying around on an ATV through the lush green environments of Hope County is done so well, definitely recommended if anyone is on the fence.

Hey there

Anybody here playing on LG E6 OLED ?

What settings do you have for it? The game is 30fps and at times the framerate is bothering my eyes. Fine when going straight, but turning and strafing is what gets me. I'm playing on Xbox One X in HDR.

Also, does the map get this weird tearing effect when panning over it for anybody else?

I'm rather sensitive to these things (I can't use VR, at all, for example) so any setting that I can use to smoothen it out would be great.

Hey guys enjoy the haunted house/stash house with the It Easter Eggs. Had about four jump scares in five minutes and heard Pennywise laugh 😢

Forgot to say yesterday, got my copy, I've played 6 or so hours of campaign. Been pretty fun so far, and very visually appealing.

Also went to arcade and tried multiplayer twice, and 1 co-op kill everything mission. MP seems really really bad from a first impression, then the vote for a map afterwards where a few voted for the map we just played on again (I assume because there outfits sort of blended into the environment) didn't improve my impressions. As for co-op, well the map (I just picked the first one, 1 star difficulty, on the list) I played was pretty ugly and generic, so not sure what I think of it.

First impressions from PC version:

+ Performance is good, with 2600k (4.5GHz) and 1070 (2.1GHz) it's solid 60 fps on ultra in 2560x1080 with res. scale 1.2
- Shadows are ugly as sin, I don't understand how DF can like this dithered mess
- Volumetric lighting is low res, FC4 had amazing gameworks effect, big regress
- SSR is low res and ugly, water is even uglier - FC4 and Primal water was much better

Looks like Dunia is regressing... It's years behind Snowdrop and Anvil.

Edit: Still no pc perf. thread?

Man, this game is pretty good. Easily the best far cry game.

^I'm noticing the game is quite challenging even on normal difficulty.

I’m early in and not having too much trouble but I did notice at one early outpost (the one by Boomer)...
I released a bear from the cage and I think he had one kill. In FC4, a panther would take out a fully armed outpost sometimes.
This bear just walked around with another guy ignoring it.

When I jumped down from the roof, he made a beeline to get me.

Also, how do you get more medkits? Do you have to buy them or can you craft?

Yeah, PC versions adds nothing - shit shadows, bad ssr/water and low res lighting remains the same. Even SSAO has no options and there were ton of them in the series since FC3 (HBAO and HDAO), FC4 even had HBAO+. FC was always a lot better on pc, since primal we get straight ports with console settings.

I wish there was a way to disable the ability to switch weapons. IIt drives me crazy how many times I end up grabbing an inferior weapon.

Made a crappy phPBB forum once ... once.
My game isn't saving any ideas?

Am on XB1X, did loads of stuff this morning, saved, came back to it and it loaded where I was yesterday with all of the stuff I did this morning reset.

I am playing on a lowly Xbox One S and a regular 1080p LG LCD television, and this game looks and plays just wonderfully. In fact, bar none, the best looking game I have ever played on my Xbox One S. Seriously, I have had to do a double-take, on more than a few occasions, in appreciation for the beautiful woodland scenery and attention to detail. The look and movement of the woodland critters is fantastic. It looks like I am watching a David Attenborough documentary. I am having a blast. And the action and gun play are top notch. The compound bow is pretty darn fun, as well. Color me impressed...very impressed. Way to go, Ubi.

I'm early into the game but it's pretty awesome (just liberated Dutch Island). It's beautiful on X. It's my first Far Cry since 2 and I'm having a blast. It feels organic, the gunplay is pretty good. The scenery is breathtaking (the fog and the sun rays on Dutch Island). I really like the whole cult thing, I'm curious to see where it goes. Faith, in the very beginning in the Church reminded me of the Baker Family in RE7. It also reminds me of this cult who built a city in Oregon, I just saw a documentary on Netflix not ten days ago (Wild Wild Country). Great stuff.

Not sure if this already posted here but Farcry 5 is Native 4k on X while maintaining locked 30 fps.

Here

This proves Hardware is capable of hitting native 4k in open world games if optimized properly.

Again I apologise if already posted.

This is the best game I have played this gen and one of my all time favourites.

I could literally write a massive post giving many reasons why I love this game but the way everything works is just wonderful., the main top of my head points are,

Gameplay, locations, characters, content and style of play is just so smooth and almost perfect.
One of the most fun and prettiest game locations to explore. The variety of foliage for example is awesome. One zone ( John) is more fun to explore and play in than any other game map, mainly due to how alive the game feels.
Seeing and driving through open fields, forests and other area just feels great. When higher up and looking across Montana in game makes you really appreciate how hard the devs have worked in this game.
Fire is slightly better than FAR CRY 2, which was probably one of the best still, so is the best implementation in game.
The way everyone and everything interacts is great, for example having Peaches the cougar in Faiths area has a lot of " aww its peaches" and in Johns area is more " AHH a cougar, oh its yours" as Peaches is from Faiths area.
Seeing Peaches interactions to other animals too really shows how much work has been put in, seeing wolfs flee after a little hissing contest or seeing a fight breakout between peaches and other cougars and seeing them going for the throat is awesome to see. Sadly she always looses to bears. I am always close with my AK though...
Haunted house for example makes it so fun to explore and talk to people for missions.

To me, it is the best graphical game I have played and finally takes the mantle from Crysis. H:ZD looks great but FC5 has given me so many moments were I would just look and take pictures, even though its only been 3 days! I know I am probably alone but the game just looks fantastic, only let down by the water quality. I think its the lighting, just looks so... real.

I just really wish we had more Fall ends style towns scattered around.

I love the way you unlock mission/characters. Looking at signs / talking to people for example.

Gun play feels fantastic, getting 2 kills with the 50 cal feels very satisfying, as well as using the bow ( if on PC I would probably use bow as main but controller aiming...).
Just wish the AK sounded more powerful, sounds a little dull but still fun to use.
My current set up is- AK47, guided rocket launcher, 50cal and m1911 silenced.
The game is easy in a sense ( on hard mode myself with 0 visual assists) but you can basically die to 3 pistol bullets if you are not careful and the game doesn't go light on enemy number either.
Now if only they added the AUG/TAR 21 and glock 18 , i would be 100% happy with the weapon selection.

Some side missions feel like main missions and some side characters are very well made ( larry for example). I really like how taking over an outpost results in some missions to help that outpost further ( taking over a gas station results in a mission having to steal a gas truck, or taking a outpost in the wilderness results in you having to clear the nearby predatory animals) A little repetitive but far from mundane.

The attention to detail is one of the best,so many little things that make you go "oh thats cool"

Cars have fun driving physics, helis/planes feel a little weird but good enough. I know a game has good physics and map/graphics when I mainly drive slowly taking in the scenery more than rushing to the next mission. Would prefer if it was a little less arcade style, such as being able to turn at full speed I am not a fan off. I loved gta 4 driving so pretty much all open world games have bad driving physics to me but its still fun here.

Prepper stashes... Best addition to an open world game. They are so fun to go searching for, especially the ones that have puzzles. They are far from complex and can be improved but still very fun to go for.

Sitting back and taking over an outpost with 2 NPC teammates is very fun too, gives a 3rd option to what is typically 2 in any other game ( silent or loud). Up a hill near a tree controlling Peaches and an bow wielding character and timing attacks feels very rewarding and fun to do, especially if you want to mix things up, or having Nick just dropping bombs too!

Micro transactions.. Now you can spend real world money and buy some weapons/vehicles/skins in game but all of those can also be brought with in game money, which is easy to come by so far from a cash grab. The currency ( silver bars) can also be looted in game from ALL outposts in the safe which is nice to see. I feel this is probably one of the best addition, besides none obviously. Not a problem at all.

The main complaint I see is people saying they hate how violent/constant the attacks and enemies are, especially the "chosen" air crafts. I agree to that and it gets annoying having an enemy parked every 100 meters ready to attack. The chosen are not as bothersome as they are easy to shoot, even with a controller when they come in for the attack. I do hope they calm it down a little. Nothing major for me but I can see why others will hate it.
BUT, once you have taken the mini boss out is it very calm. Just wish you didn't have to spend hours and missions before you can do that. Fishing in peace is very relaxing ( great activity to do too!)
I can't believe I am saying this but this game just has too many random events popping up, sometimes nothing but calmness is good!

If they can calm their attacks or have a slower detection range if you are driving in the same vehicle the cult has would be great. I would love to be able to wear the Cults clothes, have the same vehicle and being able to drive into a post with a vehicle loaded with hidden bombs and leaving and setting it off. Next time maybe.
Throwing bait and having bears spawn and attack is good enough for now!

Thankfully I have not ran into any bugs/crashes or issues. Some funny moments though ( Peaches flying 100 ft into the air after being hit by a car)

So much more I could add!

You can tell a lot of effort and time was spent on this game.
Oh and peaches is the best companion ever, no question!
And fuck Turkeys, attacking in the middle of fights!

Also forgot to mention, 2 things UBI can do to make a boatload of money and really push the farcry series into new heights:

1) Battle royale mode. Gun play is already one of the best, map is stunning and perfect, has enough lootable stuff ( can add more)
2) GET RID of the zombie horde mode DLC and make a proper zombie style campaign like undead nightmare for RDR.

Come on UBI, before DICE do it!

Bro fist all day every day, i dunno if i could add anything else..this game is work of art, Period..till CyberPunk comes out.

Plus it looks breathtakingly stunning on the X with full bells and whistles (4UHD, HDR10..etc)

I'm surprised. It's not just "oh another far cry". Game is pretty good.
I know the open world is well done when i rarely use fast travel. I barely drive or fly either. If it's less than 1000m away i'll take a walk.

I just wish it had more weapon and attachment variety. I know it doesn't make much difference but i love customizing my weapons.

Really enjoying this, the compound bow is godlike. It's actually pretty tough, enemies have a tendency to seemingly appear out of nowhere in large numbers. I run away quite a lot.

One thing I've noticed is that the enemy AI can be questionable (which can actually be helpful occasionally so I'm not complaining). Oh, and fuck bees.

I was talking to a woman on the countryside and she tells me about that stash somewhere and then a bull came by and she starts running around shouting. I laughed so hard.

What I found truly amazing with this game is how it manages to do the splits between a rather serious storyline (horrific cult, some very grim things like the people being hanged, kidnapped...) and pure moments of comedy like the thing with the bull and yet feel organic. Country Hope feels like a very real place with tremendous attention to details. It's a mix between movies like Martha Marcy May Marlene and some cheesy action flicks from the 80's/90's like Commando or Fire Down Below. It's impressive to have such different tones in the same game without creating dissonance. Amazing work.

Had a few hours to play,

Wow game runs flawlessly for me, map is gorgeous, driving and flying are fun, the guns seem a little wonky, AI seem challenging as well, overall really good game and looking forward to completing it.

I am so disappointed in the co-op in this game. My fault for not reading up but this is just so annoying. No point playing co op at all until essentially both players have beaten the game
