Rose McGowan: Ben Affleck is Lying, he knew about Weinstein raping me and other women

I think painting this as only a Hollywood problem would be a large mistake. This shit is happening everywhere. It's happening in Silicon Valley. It's happening all over the offices across America. It's probably happening down the street at your local Wal-Mart or Target. It's happening at restaurants to the servers there. It's happening on college campuses. Men in this country have not learned not to rape or sexually assault. Men in power are especially prone to it. It's a plague.

Underrated post.

Christoph Waltz's hands in the strangling scene were Tarantino's in the Kruger close-up shots.

WTF ? Didn't know that lol. But why ?

He said he wanted to make her choking real by... choking her for real. He says he had her consent, but even still, it's massively questionable.

It's not an entirely uncommon practice on some productions, and while it's not a great look on the surface, having consent and no desire to harm the performer beyond what the scene called for makes a big difference. I can't imagine for a second that there was any malice in Tarantino's decision.

Definitely. I should add that I agree with you, that may not have come across in my couple of posts on it since it was mostly explaining the situation. Just, put in a similar circumstance, I would have went with purely acting.

Argento used to play the hands of the killers in his movies.

Tarantino was probably making a meta-joke about that.

EDIT: And it's kind of difficult to direct someone else's hands. Easier to just act it yourself.

I wasn't aware that that specific bodypart presented so many problems to a director.

Here’s another fun fact: the hands seen hammering nails into Jesus' hands in Passion of the Christ are Mel Gibson's.

Anyway, there’s already leaked emails of Tarantino masturbating while sucking on toes, so no need to make up or conflate stuff that happened on a movie set.

That Tarantino sex email stuff was all consensual, though, I thought.

Another example of director hands is in The Return of the King. When Sam wields Sting against Shelob, it's really Peter Jackson's arm.

The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long, and you have burned so very very brightly, Ben.

Uh, guys, he literally choked her unconscious.

Even if that was consensual, he could have seriously hurt her. All for legitimacy. Let's not joke about that or downplay how fucked up, dangerous and stupid that is.

Hey man but you can call someone a "Nigger" on twitter and it won't violate their terms of service. They are so full of shit.

A lot of shit is about to be exposed.

Ah yes Twitter. Don't suspend the accounts of people doing the sexual harassment, but suspend the accounts of the women reporting it. Good job Twitter. Now please, fuck off and die.

What a weird ban... it's only for 12 hours. I didn't even know Twitter could do that. That's super messed up regardless.

It's a shame that Twitter became some integral method for folks to communicate. There are occasionally great outcomes, as we've seen with these stories getting out there in the first place. But at the same time the organization of Twitter is really very terrible and nobody will boycott it. Everyone is beholden to their bullshit.

Don’t worry. None of the Twitter stockholders are getting rich, because they still have no actual revenue model. So at least there’s that.

Fuck Twitter. Fuck those douchebags. No middle ground with them, laughably so. They are clearly on the side of money, power, and the status quo.

Jesus... just read about Twitter banning McGowan. This is a fucking farce. The amount of hateful and racist shit they have that they aren’t lifting a fucking finger for, Trump and his ilk getting a stay of presence for “newsworthiness” (the app even had the audacity to recommend I follow him the other day as he was popular)... but she can get a ban for calling out some real Hollywood bullshit?

Even if it’s only for 12hrs, the fact that this is happpening to her at all is just farcical.

Twitter provided no specific instances of her rule violation, but stated that she can delete the tweets that violate its rules to gain access to her account more quickly.

Uh... huh.

Awful. It's already hard to come forward about these things, but apparently not hard enough.

Twitter is a great platform and it's tragic that it is run by inept shitheads who continually condone the creeping of harassment and fascist ideals by basically turning the other cheek
