PSN Sale (NA) - Devolver Digital/PS+ Specials (VR)

Gotta say, played a lot of Downwell on my phone because it’s pretty addictive - but I agree with you. It’s not particularly fun to me, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

I'd say Downwell really needs physical buttons and a d-pad. It's great on PS Vita. I wouldn't want to play it using a touch screen.

[Wallet] killer sale.....picked up:

Raw Data
Archangel
Mortal Blitz
I Expect You To Die
Arizona Sunshine
Driveclub VR
Job Simulator
Statik
Don't Knock Twice
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
Windlands
The Brookhaven Experiment
Starblood Arena

I literally can't figure out Downwell. I've tried playing maybe 10 times on my vita, but... I'm not sure if i'm supposed to dodge everything? Land on everything? Shoot everything? No idea.
You're not just getting to the bottom, you're also killing enemies in a combo by not touching the ground.
For every enemy you kill without landing you build up the combo, then when you land you can "cash it in" for bonuses like gems, extra ammo, or even restored life.
It's fast paced and wild and takes a lot of practice but few things are as satisfying as going down a whole stage in the well with a perfect combo, never landing or being hit.
It's beautiful in its simplicity.

I picked up RE7 deluxe, because that was much bigger savings than the regular for me. I want Rise of the TR to go lower.

What. No Resident evil?

Have it already ;-)

Here's my up-to-date PSVR archive:

Batman Arkham VR
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
Playstation VR Worlds
Resident Evil VII VR
EVE: Valkyrie
Star Trek Bridge Crew
Rez Infinite
Apollo 11 VR
RIGS
Battlezone
Werewolves Within
Dirt Rally VR
Raw Data
Archangel
Mortal Blitz
I Expect You To Die
Arizona Sunshine
Driveclub VR
Job Simulator
Statik
Don't Knock Twice
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
Windlands
The Brookhaven Experiment
Starblood Arena
Eagle Flight
Here They Lie
Bound
Farpoint VR
Battlefront Xwing VR

# of full games that I have completed: 1

The only things that I've completed are Batman Arkham VR, the Heist section of VR Worlds & Battlefront Xwing mission.

Only other games that I've gotten around to really playing are Werewolves Within, Star Trek Bridge Crew, Resident Evil VII (only for about 30 minutes), Eagle Flight, Here They Lie, RIGS, Battlezone, and a little of EVE Valkyrie.

Here They Lie was pretty engaging, but man did it give me a headache after awhile. Only VR game to do that to me so far.

You are part of my problem. Ever since acquiring PSVR, I've been trying new games and have yet to either finish one or find one that doesn't give me motion sickness.

I want to play them all so badly, even bought PSVR aim controller, but the motion sickness man...

LOL --- must be a common problem!!!

I want to complete Resident Evil VII so badly but a) I am scared to do so and b) I'd love to save it for a couple of years down the road when a next-gen headset with enhanced resolution comes out so that I can experience it with PC graphics settings and maximum VR display quality.

I've played through about half of Farpoint ---- fantastic experience so far.

I think my next game will be Rez Infinite or Raw Data to try to play through to completion....

This sale is pretty interesting. I'm picking up a PSVR today and would like to know good games for it. I'm looking recommandations about lengthy games and also entertaining ones that makes you say "Wow, this is VR".

Maybe offtopic but anyone was able to use PSVR on a PC? Is there a thread on GAF about that?

My library listed above are most of the "must-haves", with the exception of Here They Lie, Don't Knock Twice, Eagle Flight etc. Most of the others are outstanding in their own ways.

Here are my absolute must-haves:

Batman Arkham VR
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
Playstation VR Worlds
Resident Evil VII VR
EVE: Valkyrie
Star Trek Bridge Crew
Rez Infinite
RIGS
Battlezone
Werewolves Within
Dirt Rally VR
Raw Data
Arizona Sunshine

Farpoint VR
Battlefront Xwing VR

Has anyone played strafe before and after the update? I love rogue likes and don't want to be burned.
I like gungeon, nuclear throne, rogue legacy and ziggurat.
Should I get strafe?

Do you dislike Eagle Flight? Why?

I’m a new PSVR owner, i was worried because when I first tried the 3DS (launch version) i got dizzy for almost a week after a 10 minute session ... but i was perfectly comfortable with all the PSVR demos (except Driveclub, only one that made me very dizzy the moment I started playing). I was REALLY impressed with the tech and my PS4 has become my VR machine now.

I did a deep study of all the games on sale and eagle flight is actually the one I am most tempted of getting (based on reviews and comments).

These are in my Cart now:

Rez Infinite (I’m a huge rhythm games fan... the demo got me a bit dizzy, but i concentrated, manned up... and felt comfortable)

VR Worlds (the demo has been one of the main attractions of my friends who have tried it)

Harmonix Music VR (huge Harmonix fan... for $5 it looks alright)

Eagle Flight (but now I’m not very sure)

I already had RE7 before ... and it is incredible in VR.

Also I really wanted Keep talking and Nobody Explodes ... but it is only in English :( ... I love party games and it is really sad it is not in Spanish ...

Maybe other VR games on
sale that you can recommend? Thank you in advance.

Edit: oh! Is there something similar to the Chainsmokers music video in VR? I loved that and my (I wish she was 😔) girlfriend loved this.

I do really like Eagle Flight, but just didn't feel it could make the cut for my "must-have" list. It is a great game, especially at the sale price. I needed to whittle down my list, so while fun, it didn't quite make the cut for the "best of the best". Still definitely worth picking up when you can, though.

Got Ronin and Heart&Slash with some change I had from buying FF9 some days ago. Can't wait to try them! I got pretty excited when I read about the sale to then realize I already own most of the games published by Devolver lol.

How did Strafe turn out?

Wondering this too.

Resident Evil 7 with all of the DLC is 54 bucks. Is there any reason why I should wait it out for the Gold Edition? I can't imagine it launching much cheaper than the current deal, but I don't want to miss out on any exclusive stuff.

Contemplating whether or not I should splurge on it for the Halloween season...

Maybe I made a mistake with Battlefront 1?

I didn't realize the online was *this* dead. Literally no one playing anything but Walker Assault and Blast Zone.

Some of those DLC modes look cool but nope.

I figured the population would be low but I didn't think it would be this low. Can't even get a full 20/20 Walker Assault game...

On the fortunate side, the single player stuff is actually pretty decent for $5. I'll probably just do that most of the time. They also let you play several modes with AI bots, co-op and 1v1 splitscreen VS. Fighter Squadron is kinda cool like that. Reminds me of Rogue Squadron.

Buy Mother Russia Bleeds ($5.09 ($6.74)), people.

It's the best Streets of Rage since Streets of Rage.

I'm interested in mother russia bleeds as well, and for $5, it's kinda hard to pass up.

I think I'm going to pass because I realized just about every Devolver Digital game has eventually been free on PS+

Terrible, I know, but I gotta get that value from the sub.

True, but given Sony's recent focus on "big" PS4 games on Plus, it might be less likely to show up in the Plus games now.

I'm here just to recommend mother russia bleeds, if you like old school beat'em ups like final fight and streets of rage, if you're into a fun local coop, don't think twice, it's great, fun, visceral and you actually gotta be smart to beat the bosses and overcome tight situations with the evading dash, it's a solid entry on the genre.

Should I just buy the cheap version of Farpoint and try to find the VR gun on the aftermarket?

It's nice to see a PSVR sale, even though none of the discounts are particularly generous.

Is Arizona Sunshine fun without the gun?

farpoint is amazing. I'm in for a sequel - bigger badder, more boss fights FTW. I'd say its worth it.

I'm completely avoiding sales at the moment where I buy games that I sort of want but will probably never get around to playing so I'm hoping not to be tempted by this one.
Other Deals
PlayStation 4
Middle-earth: Shadow of War 4K Cinematic Pack – Free]
That's actually the standard price for that download, it's not a special deal.
